Patch 1.5 impresion
Now I think this post is a troll post to be honest, but how is a NEW UI in any way greedy when it costs them money to make the new (better in my opinion) UI, wouldn't it be more greedy to actually keep the old UI rather than updating it. The reason people hate the new UI is the same reason so many people hate when youtube updates, because people hate change but I am sure that once everyone is used to it they will find it much better. |

I just dont understand what Blizzard were thinking when they released this? I mentionedi n the Beta forums that it looks likes its been desgined for a console, Massive boxes, easy clicks.. maybe for a touch screen format? I dont know, no-one knows wtf is going through Blizzard atm.. Is there a spy that is working to F everything up? Seriously, everything is being dummed down so much that TBH, Having been a Blizzard fan and loving every game, since the relase of D3, we have been sensing the downfall of Blizzard. A company now based on profit only, not caring what their fans think at all anymore. Its like these programmers are retared, this new patch has so many bugs, its unbelievable how it even made it past beta!
Look at WoW, when it was relased, everyone was on it, but now, its losing subscribers, the die hard fans have left! Why? Becasue its been dummed down so much that little kids can play it and get to level 80 within a week. Whilst before it took ages to get to a decent level. The other thing I noticed the other day was why in the blue hell has ALT been removed to ping!? ALT + G now? Seriously blizz?? So whilst your playing in a 4 v 4, big attacks happening in your base, your trying to defend, rther than a quick ALT click click click spam.. I ahe to Alt + G click... Alt + G click.. oh wait i just missed a vital inject, chrono, or warp in and im f'd now! Another thing is, why is it soo bugy that it thinks I ahve been in 1 v 1 for diamond? I appreciate it, becasue it makes me look good, but i have NEVER been in that league for 1 v 1!! Its also become really difficult to find anyones 1 v 1 rank! I cant even find mine without going through 100 menus.. and When you have played against a really good player on ladder or had a good team game, and you want to check their rankings for 1 v 1... dear o dear, I have to go through so many tabs its like they didnt even give this a thought, so retarded! Half the time you cant even find peoples ranking easily and quickly! FPS drops - makes a £1000 laptop fly outta the window! Further, I played an FFA and got an achievement.. during the game I didnt realise I got it, neither did I realise at the end of the game... whats this? A D3 killer move again? Where you get an achievement, a big swosh sound, quickly dissapearing whislt some retard is talking to you so you dont even know what you got! What happened to the big swoosh, it all coming up, showing us what we had got and making us feeling proud to get that? Now its like.. wtf was that!? I can go on and on and on, but, I feel this is the DOWNFALL of BLIZZARD, going froma VERY GOOD comapny that cared for its gamers to a CAPITALIST company bought out by Activision, havin a CONSOLE LEAD PROGRAMMER for Battl.net... purely for monetary reasons.. well done blizz.. |
That only happens once the new version is actually better than the one before. Youtube updates are solid. Most people do not simply hate the UI, they hate the fact how the information got harder to obtain; checking someone's profile doesn't even show how they're ranked, and the most played race is now out of life time games, which can be different from the one they currently play. There is also a need of pressing more buttons to get to the pages you'd want, unless using the new quick nav, which would be nice if it actually worked on the "my league" part, which it at least for me does not. |

lots of lag in this patch :(

what i like:
The arcade system has a good layout and i like the ranking system. The ability to thumb up or report reviews is good and browsing for arcade games is well organized. i really likes the new colour tint and the boxed & framed look of the buttons. The navigation hotkeys (F1 to F5) are a great feature and the fact that they can be changed is truly awesome. The general info page that tells us when the season lock-in happens and shows us the lenght of the seasons is nice. The reward pages finally uses the screen space by showing alot more portraits at a time. what i dont like: the home screen: I have never understood the purpose of it, there is a campaign button in the lower left corner and a window with community adds in the upper right. I feel that blizzard need to find a way to stuff more community things on the screen even directly integrate it with the forums(if that is possible) OR they should just remove the homescreen and make the game start at the Starcraft page. The profile page: I expected more stats on the profile page after the patch because thats what the community has been asking for. But Blizzard removed stats and achievements in favor of empty space wich is a really bad choice. there are so many stats that were or could have been on the page such as FFA games played, co-op games played, arcade games played, wins AND LOSSES, seasons played, best match up, worst match up, best map, worst map. Showing our best rank ever instead of our current rank is dumb and ontop of that its broken, the page shows my best in 1v1 as diamond but my highest ever rank is platinum. the profile page is by far the biggest slap in the face this patch had to offer. The quick match page: The buttons for choosing between 4v4 3v3 2v2 1v1 FFA in quick match (and co-op) bother me i think the order should be 1v1 2v2 3v3 4v4 FFA because i read from left to right and i think almost all americans and europeans do so aswell. on the quick match page the date for the season is written in month/day/year but i think its day/month/year for Europe (correct me if im wrong ive rarely ventured outside of iceland) Like most people i miss the pictures of Zeratul and the queen of blades BUT i really like the idea of having a transparent background (the planet and BC are dull but i think blizz will put something cool for the expansions). the frame to the right where we see our league and bonus pool could be used for the old pictures because right now its background is the same dull planet floating behind the transparent UI of Bnet. Colour and style mismatch: Even tho i personally like the new theme the old one was atleast "complete" The button for the friends list has the new dark & framed style but when i start talking to a friend the button for our chat window has the old colour tint and shape. The buttons at the top also use the old colour and shape making them interface feel out of sync. i have also wondered why we have a differently themed options menu in Bnet and ingame. Career History: Terrible Terrible organization again, there are 5 rows but we only earn 4 medallions each season. i think they should have 1 page for each year and each season would have 1 horizontal row of 4 medallions. we should be able to scroll up and down on each page because 1 year of seasons wont fit on the screen. Achievements: when i click the achievements button the page looks ok. BUT when we use the Achievement button on the profile page(like we have to when looking at other players) the buttons are stuffed in a clunky drop down menu, the drop down menu already takes up the space of 1 button and the summary button is utterly useless so i dont understand why blizz wants this unsmooth thing in their menus. when we check out a friends achievement the name and date are missing when there is plenty of space under the pictures to show them. (right now we have to mouse over) Creep: i think they went way to far in making the creep transparent, its a bit hard to see on certain maps. The only change im not decided on is the fog of war, im gonna give it a bit more time. |

I find the new UI nice looking overall (i far prefer a dark texture on websites & games than a light one), also the new buttons looks quite nice!
However i have some serious problems with the new changes. First of all, the quickmatch menu is illogically setup (4v4, 3v3, 2v2, 1v1, FFA) the decision on changing this is quite retarded and illogical. You may say "but its 'cause we want people to start with 4v4 then 3v3 then 2v2 and finally be ready for 1v1." But what makes this faulty is that the strategy in the different team games & 1v1 is very different and by using this setup you force more information to be learnt than is actually needed. - Please change this back to the way it was before. Next is the absurd amount of menus you need to go through to do even the most basic things, please cut down on the amount of this to improve the game & time spend (or atleast make quickmatch easier to find). "But we got hotkeys on the F* buttons!" Yes! But thats no excuse to say "!@#$ off" to good design. Now i'll go into the create custom map part. You waste SO MUCH SPACE on nothing which couldn't have been compressed with a picture of the map you're creating, this is pretty %^-*ing bad and probably impossible to get used to. I have no idea which excuse you could have for this. Also please make the search bar a little brighter, i missed it the first time i looked & thought you had removed it. Finally the ingame subject. The worst thing is probably that you've made the color of creep so much lighter, you can look down at the map & if you're unaware of it being there you may miss it (its probably hell for colorblind people). I understand this may be to make units on creep more visable, but you turned down the color far too much on this! It is horrible to say the least & it just makes everything on the map look ancient. "But colorblinds can't see enemy units while they're on creep!" Ok! Then give us a "colorblind option" which shouldn't take too much space. The fog of war changes i don't really care much about, its easier to see what you've discovered and haven't discovered now but alot of people dislike it, i'm quite neutral at this point if it doesn't get as bad as in BW. Now to the profiles which i'm extremely disappointed about, first off in the front page of the profile you've wasted ALOT of space & it lacks the showcase of achievements. Moving on to the ladder part of a profile. You've added atleast one menu which isn't needed at all (where you can see general info, wings of liberty & placement), everything in this menu could be put inside the "wings of liberty" tab without clogging up too much space. And when you press the "friends" tab (just wanted to try it) the game straight up crashes (i thought we were past the "friends" tab by now or atleast had it tested with a decent amount of friends on the list). The Arcade review tab i recon is something about you being able to write reviews about the custom maps, but i've yet to find out where the heck you can do that. Yes its nice we actually can see when the season ends & starts, but besides that nothing good is added to the profiles. Have you added anything els to the new profile? At the replays i think you added a better details tab (or atleast made it better looking), however i'd like to be able to see how many points me and my opponent had at that exact time the game was played Finally the menu button should be named "menu" instead of just a computer screen, took me a while to find it. Also please make the menu hotkeys customizeable! (aka making it possible to change F1 into quickmatch, F2 into Create Custom, F3 into Arcade etc.) I'm unsure what els i can say, i'm aware that you can't give us the option to have the old menu since it'll take too much disk space for people with small harddrives or SSD. TL;DR - Went over the changes i've noticed & what i think about them. Well.. this was my two cents! Thanks if you've read it all. |

The UI is less intuitive. Functionality being removed sucks. Additional clicks to get info you want is always bad, any UI designer will tell you this.
But for me, the most annoying change is the additional textures/enhanced graphics at low graphic settings. Eugh. Roll-back and start over?! |
|
You are absolutely right , i share it 100% , ive been playing every blizzard game from Warcraft1 to Starcraft2 , and since Activision bought Blizzard its getting worse.

I actually love the new patch especially the new creap!

The UI should be like it was in starcraft 1.
It was super simple had all the information u ever needed It had more freedom (could choose the map u wanted to play, could choose to kick players for the lobby if u didnt want to play them + all kinds of goodies.) Now a days it just gets fancier and fancier, but the functionality of it gets !@#$tier and %^-*tier. CANT U GUYS MAKE BOTH? WTF IS WRONG WITH U. Contact Iccup btw, they know what they are doing. |
|
I think overall the patch guided the game into the right direction, but the UI has to overhauled, because the old profile overview was much better. It had all important information in one place. Now you have to click a lot more to find your stuff. Would be great if you could implement the old profile into the new one.

BLIZZARD U ARE ALL PIECES OF !@#$ , why do u take sumthing that runs perfectly fine and then ruin it as usual have u learned nothing from previous mistakes like diablo , the fog of war is crap it runs slower looks %^-*tier and as far as i can tell all done for no good use what so ever , i have always loved sc2 untill now but i guess seeing as u ppl created diablo i should have known its just a matter of time before u ruin sc2 so thanks -PS a piece of advice if u wanna make good decisions just think what would we have done in diablo and then just do the oppositeactivision greed is suppose They wil only find it to be better if it's actually an improvement, if the patch is not an improvement for you then no matter how long you stare at it, it will stay a downgrade. |

I would just like to say that I for one appreciate the temperature display, since I have experience overheating issues in the past, and was forced to use external programs, like CPUID, to keep on top of the temperatures of my gpu. This is much more comfortable since I don't have to have anything running in the background.
Other than that, BNet seems to be showing badges incorrectly. This is something I would like to see fixed. |

I think the new UI is cool. I like changes :). Everyone here sais tht this new UI is ugly. I like the profiles too. With 200 APM I think everyone can watch a profile with 5 clicks. If not, shame on you! Maybe Blizzard should add more informations everywhere. Usefull informations. And one more thing. Blizzard should make the UI switchable, becaouse you guys think its ugly. The fog of war is cool too. OMG. Everyone is going to hate me for this!
|
|
i dont mind if they make the option to switch it to classic but i do really like the new UI and i dont want to install a patch again that takes 5 hours.
|
|
As far as the UI is concerned I would not complain (yet) since the game does not even start, with this patch.
