I had the same problem but now it seems to be working. What I did:
1. Delete all Starcraft 2 related files and folders (no registry cleaning) *This is probably what was impeding the optimization process, as every time you restart the process the files just clump up again and again.* 2. Download the set-up from battle.net (I tried the DVD but the same problem) *Maybe not required but I did it* 3. When prompted to begin optimization, I chose close launcher 4. In the installation folder/Temp/1.5 Migration I right click the set-up and ran it as admin(right click -> run as administrator If this does not work, try running in safe mode and doing the same process, make sure the .ink files placed on desktop are not hidden or read-only (right click -> properties -> uncheck the boxes there. I truly hope this works for you guys, and please don't blame it on Blizzard. Before that it stuck at 4% for 8 hours, and now it is working. I will be back with details as soon as something shows up. Until then, try it out. *Edit* It is working right now, the patch is downloading and applying properly. |

I had the same problem but now it seems to be working. What I did: nice trick. 32% in 1min and before it was stuck at 0%. but for me the first time i installed the game was in german, i was hoping to change the language and interrupter the reconfiguration after few %. But with the english version this was stuck at 0% even after 1 hour. |
And why should we learn how to make these F***ING "magic tricks" just to install or update the D$%&$MN game?? |

*Mode irony on* Good news!
I reinstalled the game using the wifi of my office (just let the laptop downloading overnight). So admittedly it was not entirely blizzard's fault. It could be that my home connection is a "bastard". However to be fair I want to note that the only thing that ever gave me problems with my home connection is damn blizzard games (though they never failed on giving me a cascade of problems). Now because it wouldn't be fun that everything is all right after the installation, figure out what I found after coming back to my office today and find the game merrily installed. IT IS INSTALLED IN FREAKIN GERMAN!!!!!! I say again: IT IS INSTALLED IN GO$D$MN FREAKING GERMAN!!!! I have to conclude that either I used the wrong installer by accident, or that there's something wrong with blizzard installation process. I live in Germany but I want to play in English, could it be that the installer was pissed with me because of that and wants me to forcefully play in German? I don't know anymore who's fault is or what happened, but anything ever got me so many problems than trying to install and play blizzard games. SO the only thing I can ask is: IS there a way to change the language of the game without having to uninstall it and install again? |
