24 wins in a row without premade, upgrading tier 2 as a starter, as random. Containing a win with a 0 money start bug.
(see my match history ingame if you don't believe) - ingame because 'show more entries' needed
Lost the 25th game since I was dropped at start and the 27th because of an afk teammate. My first "real" loss was the 29th when I was chatting and thought I upgraded tier 2 already, but I didn't. It was a stupid loss tho since it should have been a free win because of the 2v1 situation for us after ppl leaving the game.
Anyway guys! LF for the one that can do the same/beat me at least 5/10 times in 1v1 Desert Strike and not just trashtalk "omg custom map no skill". 24 wins in a row is not luck.

Desert Strike requires a different skill than default sc2 games because you can't micro.
The skill is to know how good units are vs other units in combination with other units in an a-move battle with predetermined AI based ability usage.
Since the map requires a form of user input which determine the actions in that map. Therefore skill is involved which can decide the outcome of the game to the benefit of the more skilled player.
Of course the skill ceiling is way higher in a normal game because of the more complex economy, building, scouting, production and micro mechanics and possibilities in addition to a sense of the enemy strategy concerning his usage of these factors.
So, "custom map no skill" is wrong for pretty much every arcade map.
But maybe we just need to look at the different communication channels. Maybe the author tried to express his feelings about non-sc2-default skill.
Anyway, congratulations to win most games of that custom map. It's really an impressive achievement as you won most matches with random players. That means that your actions were better than the average actions of the enemy players.
Tbh didn't really expect this but tyvm. :p
But seriously looking forward for someone who can really beat me at least 5/10 games 1v1 Desert Strike.
Already 1v1ed like 5 guys who tried to prove that they are better than me but I lost 1 match out of like 10 so far vs those guys so they were not really competitive.
Funny thing is, it always starts with 'omg f*ckin noob come 1v1 me retard' and they rage disconnect at the end after getting their !@# kicked.
Prode is the king atm dudes! Deal with it!

You must have been lucky because that is not even a good strategy to do so.
But anyway I agree that it does require skill, as evidenced by lots of people who lack the skill to play it, but still do it anyway. This skill it requires is more of a knowledge (which units are worth using, when to buy gas and tech), psychology (what will the enemy do) and game sense (what unit is required for this situation) than mechanical skill (APM, reaction time).
DS has been my prime time killer for a few months now, so I learned it pretty good. For some reason I like watching a-moving armies slaughter each other, and even though the game is so unbalanced that it's not even funny, it is still good to see what situations can certain people create.
If anyone feels like 1on1-ing me add Zee #956 and msg me.

There is a reason why I mentioned I always upgraded tier 2 as a start. It is I believe alot harder to win a game with a tier 2 start.
Yet if you think about it, I won 24 games in a row with it so are you really sure it must be a bad tactic ?
Also you gotta note that when I am writing this, my 'let's just have some fun' performance lately looks like this: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3388/atm.png
Even the one 'left' game was because enemy had no money so I didn't want to faceroll them in an unfair battle and probably at least 1 of the 2 losses is either 'you are dropped' or 0 money bug.
But even if you don't want to believe that, it's 22 wins and 2 losses and yes I make tier 2 all the time.
So then again, if something is more difficult to use, it doesn't mean it's bad. Just takes alot more 'skill' to win with it, I agree on that.
This doesn't look like a challenge call but if you wanna practice/try out some tactics/or maybe challenge me in the end I am up for that.
I'm unable to find you with either 2955, 955 or 295, but i'd like to add you.
You made me curious about T2 starting. I only regarded the Zerg T2 lurker start to be viable vs Zerg or Terran (if he does not know to scan), but i've never seen it work with other race combinations. I'd very much like to see how it works.
