Just got promoted to Silver League! :)

I know that for most people this is nothing to be proud of, but personally I'm extremely happy and wanted to share my happiness with other new players.

I started playing this game a month ago. Playing Terran exclusvely, after a rough start not knowing what a build order was, not knowing wall-ins or anything like that and loosing all 5 placement matches I got booted to a 80th spot in the Bronze League. I started watching Tournaments (Damn never knew e-sports could be this amazing to watch! I find myself preferring it over soccer nowadays even ;) ) reading up on build orders and tactics, reading the forums and taking in all the advice thats being given, practising hard vs AI and battling my way up to Bronze league.

I started making nice progress about 2 weeks ago after lots and lots of practise in the little free time that I have, and pushed up to 30, then to the top 8. Started battling Silver Leaguers and even managed to squash a Gold, I climbed up to the no1 spot and held that with a large margin for the last couple of days.

Just now, after playing 100th match I got the awesome popup I got promoted :) Sitting pretty now on the 4th spot in a Silver League division. So happy and so fitting it was on my 100th match!

Having a ton of fun with this game, I notice there are a lot of unhappy people on this forum, and this thread will probably be a thorn in many people's eyes that a silly noob is happy about the silver league, but f that :D

Congratulations, bronze -> silver is always the hardest :D (Apart from master - grandmaster lol)

You are rigth, Bronze to Silver is not much to brag about. Then again. I needed an entire month myself to get from Bronze to Silver back in 2010. So maybe if you keep your dedication you will eventually get Master if not GM!

Congrats man, well-deserved I guess. I'll have to improve my game now to do the same, currently sitting at 5th in my bronze league..

Gratz, as someones else said, Bronze - silver is the hardest until the very high leagues.
I got stuck in Bronze for AGES while winning a ton of games! :( so I know how it feels :')

To judge the SC2 community based on the Battle Net forums is like judging society based on a mental asylum.

I remember my promotion to silver. I was also very very happy. Congrats!

I was unhappy. I was playing mid to high gold when I got silver. I was pissed that I didn't skip silver. = P

Gratz - My career has been one long slide from platinum down to silver. Did manage to get promoted from gold to platinum after having been demoted once, but now in silver.

Everyone seems to improve but me...

This just depresses me since the story is nearly exactly the same (winning most games, just played my 100th game etc.) yet I haven't been promoted :'( hoping for it at the end of the season

Grats..i got from bronze to master league..i will never forgot my promotion to silver. Keep it up... climbing the ladder in sc2 is like training for a marathon, pain and joy, but it always pays off to see the end of it.
