Hey guys, when the beta was out I messed around a bit with the galaxy editor and tried to remake a few of the original levels from SC1. I recorded videos of them and stuck them up on youtube.

Let me know what you think of them, unfortunately they were all saved in the beta folder which was deleted when the retail version came out.

If I get some positive feedback from the videos I might try and do something similar again, because I know alot of people may not have played the original SC, but after playing SC2 find it hard to go back to such an old looking (but fantastic) game.

(that's if I'm allowed to re-make levels like this, not sure how that works)

Give me any positive/negative feedback here on this thread

I concur with Rapidiul. This is probably the best use of the Galaxy editor that I've seen.

This is pretty inspiring! Good work, Puppetmaster!

I'm going to move this thread to the custom maps forum as it belongs there!

You should use the SC1 units instead of the SC2 ones

Bear in mind that this was during the beta when the SC1 units weren't available in the map editor, on the SC2 MP units. If I do go ahead and make some of these maps I'll try and include all the original SC1 units if I can find them!

Thanks for all the positive feedback!

I'd love for someone to remake the SC and BW campaign in the SC2 engine. I never got around to complete the SC1 campaign after I tasted modern UI. Using the original units and dialog, etc. I wonder if Blizzard would tolerate that.

hey, looks very impressive. Well done and keep up the great work!

That is very awesome. Starcraft 1, really deserves to be brought back, just like people are doing with Halflife.

Really impressive.
Most of the original units are in the editor, or have a direct equivalent in SC2 - immortals have practically the same skin as dragoons, for instance. However I can't see a replacement for arbiters or reavers.
