Planetary Fortress or Perdition Turret
|
I'm contemplating which one of these I should research.
If I recall correcly, the Planetary Fortress is an upgrade to the Command Center (unless it changed since the beta), but what is the turret thing? Anyone have any thoughts on which is the best and why? |

Its awesome against zerg rushes etc... burns 'em to hell and with a large range it burns them while they wait to get space. Best placed at choke points.
The pplanetary thingy is just extra defence. If you play good i dont think you need the extra defence. I reckon its a waste. |

Get the perdition turret. It deals huge damage to groups of enemies so one on either side of a choke will hold off like infinite zerglings. The planetary fortress is kinda pointless as I don't think there are really any missions where it would be super useful.

The planetary fortress is only useful if you intend on using a command centre as a weapon in smaller bases intended solely to harvest. In the campaign you never really tend to have enemies anywhere near your mineral line, and even if you did a perdition turret is even more effective anyway. Plus, you can build as many of them as you want, salvage them and they're great additions to a bunker/seige tank line.

I got the Plannetary fortress, and the only place where I've used it so far is in the mining laser mission, and there it didn't do super much. While I don't see a huge need for mules for harvesting in the campaign, I still reccon they are the better option, I wouldn't mind having some flameturrets now :( owell I still got firebats :D

Its gotta really be the planetery fortress for me cause u can make a flame thingy by just sticking some firebats in a bunker, and once you get the bunker upgrades they work a lot better than the turret.
Neosteel Hardened Bunker with range bonus and 2 firebats and 2 marines inside. |
