Tempered by hardship and strife, the resourceful terrans have proven a formidable match even for the technologically advanced protoss or the ravenous zerg.

The terrans are relative newcomers to the Koprulu sector. They are the descendents of a disastrous colonization expedition launched from Earth centuries ago, its human cargo made up of dissidents and malcontents the government deemed expendable. The survivors of the expedition established three colonies that became the basis for the major power blocs in terran space: the Confederacy, the Kel-Morian Combine, and the Umojan Protectorate. The corrupt Confederacy was overthrown by terrorist and revolutionary Arcturus Mengsk during the chaos of the zerg invasion. Now the Terran Dominion has emerged from the ashes of the old Confederacy as the dominant power, ruled by none other than Emperor Arcturus I.

Forced to adapt to the harsh existence on the mostly lifeless worlds of the sector, the terrans are masters of survival. With neither the advanced technology of the protoss nor the natural prowess of the zerg to rely on, the terran military forces consist of a varied mix of units. From basic but effective infantry like the Marines to heavily armed battlecruisers, terran units rely on solid armor, plentiful firepower, and strength in numbers to hold the line. Terrans excel in defensive situations where their bunkers and Siege Tanks really shine.

Terran Characteristics
Survivors

The terrans have learned to adapt their tactics to rapidly changing battlefield conditions in surprising ways. Terran production facilities, for example, can lift off and fly to different locations, allowing the terrans to relocate entire bases on the fly.

Build Anywhere

Unlike the other races, terrans can create buildings wherever they want. Combined with their production facilities’ lift-off capabilities, terrans have incredible base-building flexibility.

Adaptable

The terran military includes highly trained and specialized infantry units such as the rugged and reliable Marines, guerrilla-fighting reapers, and the stealthy ghost infiltrators. Mixing different units allows the terrans to capably handle any situation.

Nuclear Launch Detected

The terran arsenal includes one of the game’s most devastating weapons, the tactical nuke. Nukes require a lot of planning, but once you see a mushroom cloud rising from the ashes of a vanquished foe’s base, you’ll know it was worth all the trouble.

planets that terrans do NOT own
1)char(it belongs to the zerg and terrans cant live or expand there forces there)
2)new folsom(they never owned it)
3)mar sara(not any more

@newguy: DOMINION don't own this planets, but there are Terrans (like Jim Raynor) who are not part of Dominion, so Terrans do own this Planets...
1)Char - After turning Kerrigan into human.
2)New Folsom - Alwayes were owned by Terrans. First by Dominion, now by Raynor.
3)Mar Sara - Was owned by Dominion, then Raynor started revolution. I'm not sure what happaned after Zerg invasion, still Terrans controled this planet all the way before invasion.

@Cockroach: Char still belongs to the Zerg. Some of the first missions in Heart of the Swarm will be on Char (I beleive).
How in any way does Raynor own New Folsom? Really depends on the choice between Ghosts (Nova) and Spectres (Tosh) doesn't it?

Well, i have some thoughts about the upcoming champaign. Anyone of you remember leuntanant Duran from SC1? Since he betrayed Kerrigan aswell i think he might not be zerg infested, but a Xel naga in disguice. Zerathul were the first to discover the hybrids in SC1, and he also found Duran there. I think That Duran have merged himself with the DNA of protoss and zerg and became the leader of the hybrids known as: The Dark Voice! This is only my guesses though, yours are as good as mine. :)

my fave strategy for terran is sieged up seige tanks in front of enemy base with marine and marauder support next step scan edge of enemy base and watch seige tanks king everythin and any thing in range and when the wall is down move mmball into base to wipe out anything that's left after enemy has no units move seige tanks in and wait for gg

i like the marine quotes 'I CAME HERE TO KICK ASS AND CHEW BUBBLE GUM!' and 'THIS IS MY C-14 IMPALER GAUSS RIFLE THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT BUT THIS ONE IS MINE!' every time i hear it i crack up :D (btw to listen to these quotes just repetitivly click they same marine this works with other uits as well if you didn't know :D)

You deny the turtler any expansions beyond the natural - poke little by little and when he doesn't have any minerals you have %*!#loads ie you win.

I do think that waaayyy too many units was removed/replaced even when they didn't have to be. I mean sure the hellions is ok and the medivac is good but i miss the vultures ability to plant mines and the medics overall usefullness. I mean now you can't heal your units as efficent as you could before (don't belive me? Try to heal any units in a base that still got their anti-air capability -.-').

But yeah i am still a Terran fan even if it takes some time to get used to all the changes. :)
