Marauder

Primarily a support unit, the remodeled heavyweight Firebat suit packs Quad K12 Punisher grenade launchers that devastate enemy structures and vehicles from a distance. As the Dominion military began to reevaluate its systems, it determined that it was still geared to fight Terran-vs.-Terran battles that were imagined pre-Zerg. There needed to be an increase in armor-shattering combat units with weapons capable of piercing through hardened Zerg carapaces. The Marauder was the answer. These virtual walking tanks have given the Dominion infantry the hard-hitting, easy-to-produce support that had been missing on the front lines.

Field Manual

  • Armored assault trooper that can attack ground targets.
  • Once researched, concussion shells slow down enemies.
  • Very effective against land-based armored units and structures.
  • Can go inside bunkers for protection and a range increase.

Tech Lab Upgrades

  • Stimpacks: Combat stimulants that increase movement and attack speed at the expense of health.
  • Concussive Shells: Enemies hit by Marauder weapons have their movement speed slowed down temporarily.

Countermeasures

VS Terran
  • Focus fire with Marines and Marauders. Use Stimpacks and Medivac support if possible.
  • Build a few Tanks and research Siege Mode.
  • Get Banshees; Marauders cannot attack air targets.
VS Zerg
  • Research Metabolic Boost and surround them with a large group of Zerglings.
  • Combine Zerglings with Hydralisks or Mutalisks.
  • Research Burrow to ambush enemy forces that are on the move.
VS Protoss
  • Attack with a large group of Zealots. Try to surround the Marauders and fight them in the open. Charge is essential.
  • Build a few Sentries. Use Guardian Shield to protect your warriors, and Force Field to separate enemy troops or block their escape route.
  • Get Immortals to support your Zealot force. Be sure to focus fire for maximum effectiveness.
  • Air units, especially Void Rays, are good against Marauders.

MARAUDERS! THE MOST OVER POWERED UNIT IN THE GAME STIMPACK AND CONCUSSIVE SHELL I MEAN COME ON WHAT ELSE GETS TWO UPGRADES!! 125 HP THATS UNREAL TOO NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO THAT ITS SO OVER POWERED ITS STUPID YOU GET THEM EARLY GAME AND THEY WALK PAST MOST DEFFENCES IN NUMBERS WITH MEDIVACS

@Ozzy: Yes it is. But until Blizz gives Terran another mobile, combat-worthy unit, the only other two options are Marine+Tank and Mech - both slow, maticulous styles. The Marauder is the only thing currently giving Terran the option to go for an agile, agro style.

Some elements is very bad designed. Look: (blizzard play guide)

Roach (dps: 8) > Zealot > Marauder (dps: 6,7)

Difference between Roach and Marauder is 20 HP :)) Zealot is not counter on Marauder! Marauder have not counter! Marauder is free and deadly.

Increase pls damage Zealots from 8 to 9
or
decrease Marauder Armor from 1 to 0 and HP from 125 to 100 !

Marauders are just OP...very hard-hitting units with lots of hitpoints and with stimpack they can just do hit-and-run, making these units to win easily against melee units just as Zealots and Ultralisks which are ment to be counterunits...well these units are just too good in early-, mid- and lategame. For example in Protoss vs. Terran matches, when the game is still at early stage, they basically counter everything the Protoss might possess (Zealots just do not have Charge upgrade yet, Marauders literally "eat" Stalkers and well...Sentrys are the only ones which can block them from escaping and later finish the Marauders off with Zealots). At midgame they are the units which survive Psionic Storms and quickly tear Protoss' Colossuses and Stalkers apart when in range.

@DoomWing: Sentry and HT is useless (EMP). Zealots is kitting; Stalkers, Immortals and Colosi is devastating with cheap Marauders.

Marauder is too strong. Most units and every structure is armored ! Drop 4 Marauders, stimpack and Nexus or Hatchery is in 6 second down. (No terran, because he can OC lift up.) Its OP !

1. Cost increase from 100/25 to 125/50.
or
2. Stimpack is removed.
or
3. Damage is decreased from 10 (20 armored) to 8 (16 armored)

@Zapperstin: The firebat is only used in the campaign, which is unfortunate because they own biological units, but luckily we have the Hellion to do its job instead :D
