Next Protoss Unit: Stalker
Previous Protoss Unit: Probe
For more than a thousand years, the Protoss of the Templar caste have defended their people, dedicating their long lives to the pursuit of martial perfection. Zealots are peerless warriors who have yet to ascend to the uppermost ranks of the Khala. Ever eager for advancement, they train for decades in hand-to-hand combat, tactics, pain tolerance, and martial discipline. Their formidable physiques are further enhanced by cybernetic implants and power suits. Zealots use their substantial psionic abilities to create blades of pure energy that serve as their primary melee weapons.

Units
Zealot
General Strategy
- Light infantry unit that can attack ground targets.
- This is the first military unit that Protoss can build; all you need is a Gateway.
- Tough and hard-hitting, but expensive compared to other tier 1 units such as Marines.
- Powerful combatants, their weakness is the time it takes them to reach their target. Susceptible to kiting as well.
- Researching Charge will allow your Zealots to instantly close the gap to their target.
- Can be warped into the battlefield quickly by means of a Warp Gate.
- Increase their survivability to ranged attacks by having a Sentry with Guardian Shield.
Upgrades
- Charge: Allows Zealots to automatically intercept nearby enemies, and is a passive increase to their movement speed.
Countermeasures
VS Terran
- Reapers are very effective against Zealots due to their speed and damage. Getting the Nitro Packs upgrade will make them difficult to catch.
- Hellions excel against Zealots after you research the Infernal Pre-Igniter upgrade.
- A mix of Marines and Marauders should do the job, but do not fight in the open.
VS Zerg
- Roaches are a great counter to Zealots, especially if you research the movement speed upgrade.
- Spawn an Infestor or two and cast Fungal Growth on the Zealots and use ranged units such as Hydralisks to pick them off.
VS Protoss
- Build a force of Stalkers and kite the enemy Zealots.
- Summon a few Sentries and fight the enemy at a spot where you could easily separate his troops with a well- placed force field.
- Construct a few Colossi.

They aren't OP at all only 000000000000000000.000001% when I see them rushing against my zerglings. It's a P.I.T.A. :(
It's very important information and very strange that is not shown.
kiting is a hit 'n' run technique; you hit 'em with a ranged attack from distance and then run away and then hit again. because zealots are melee units they can't attack you if you kite properly.
(btw srry for my english :) )
Found the unit in question - http://starcraft.wikia.com/wiki/Vindicator#StarCraft:_Ghost - sorta low quality, and the GIANT FRIKKIN' LAZOR BEAMZ might need to be scaled down a bit. Nontheless, this, or a similiar unit, could be used in the future Protoss campaign as an early biological ranged unit - sorta like the Terran marine, but with Protoss flavour on it (shields, slower firing but stronger, more expensive, etc.) Due to the size of that gun, it'd probably be effective against armoured units.
