Beta Opt-in Instructions

3 Keywords: beta, optin, opt-in

In order to be eligible to participate in future beta tests, you must create a Beta Profile.

A Beta Profile is a snapshot of your current system specifications; it includes information about your computer's hardware, such as processor, memory, available hard drive space, and graphics card. We gather this information to ensure that we are able to test out games on a wide range and distribution of systems.

If you would like to be considered for any future Blizzard Betas, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account at http://eu.battle.net

  2. Click the ACCOUNT button, located at the top of the page:

  3. The Create a Beta Profile page can be reached in two ways:
Click the Beta Profile Settings option, found on the right of the page (under the Add a Game button):

    (or)

In the account navigation menu, click Manage Games and then select Beta Profile Settings:

  4. Click the button that matches your system type (Windows or Mac):

  5. Save and then run the SystemCheck_xxXX file.

IMPORTANT – When running the System Check utility you must be logged into an administrator account. Additionally, if you are using Windows Vista or 7, once downloaded, please right-click the System Check file and left click 'Run as Administrator'.

  6. If you would like to be considered for any future Blizzard Betas, you must read and agree to the Blizzard Beta Test 'Opt-In' Agreement that is displayed:

You will not be able to click Agree until you have scrolled down to the end of the agreement.

  7. After clicking Agree, a Battle.net System Check window will be displayed, to submit your system specification, click on Send and then Close:

Congratulations! You will now be considered for any future Blizzard betas. For further information concerning the Beta Profile Settings page, please read on…

The Beta Profile Settings page will allow you to; upload your system specifications, reset your system specifications, and decide which Blizzard game universes you would like to be considered for Beta access to.

To upload your system specification, click the appropriate download link (Windows or Mac) to download and run the Battle.net System Check utility for your system (as described above). To remove your system specifications, click the Reset Specifications – if you do reset your specifications, you will need to download and run the System Check utility again to be eligible for any future betas:

If you are only interested in Beta access to specific Blizzard game universes, tick the boxes of your choice in the BETA TESTS I'M INTERESTED IN area and then UPDATE PREFERENCES:

@Radimek: What are you talking about? The Beta is given away randomly to someone lucky. Even if you have all Blizzard games and a year of WoW+All expansions you still aren't going to get a Beta key.
