A Windows blue screen error can be caused by many factors; from something as simple as a damaged or outdated driver, to incorrectly configured or damaged hardware.
If your system is blue screening and then restarting, please first turn off the Windows Automatic Restart option. Once this option is disabled, the next time your system blue screens, the error message will stay in your screen until the computer is powered down manually.
The blue screen error will normally contain a file name (often ending .dll or .sys) and/or a specific STOP message.
If your blue screen error message mentions a file name, try searching the name of the file using an Internet Search Engine (such as Google). The results of the search should make it clear what driver or program the file belongs to. Once you have this information, try (re)installing the latest driver for the device or uninstalling the problematic software.
If your blue screen error is a STOP message, try entering the numbers and/or words (after the STOP message) into a search in the Microsoft Knowledgebase.
If the blue screen persists and you would like further help, we can be contacted by phone or email (web form). Support is also available on our forums: |
