StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty multiplayer modes require an active Internet connection. However, offline play is available as long as your copy of StarCraft II has been logged into Battle.net within the last few weeks. There are two ways to play offline with StarCraft II.
Guest Play
Guest play is accessed by clicking the "Play as Guest" button on the login screen. This gives you access to three accounts local to that computer that will let you play the single-player portions of the game, including the campaign, challenge missions, and skirmish mode versus the AI. Note that achievements and online progress are only enabled while logged in to Battle.net.
Offline Play
If no connection to Battle.net is available, StarCraft II offers offline play on your StarCraft II character. A prompt will appear upon attempting to login, stating that Battle.net is not able to be reached. By selecting "Play Offline," you can continue your campaign or play single-player skirmishes and challenges, including those unlocked on your registered StarCraft II character. As with Guest Play, achievements and other online functionality are not available in offline play.
Please note that offline play is not available in any form for Guest Pass accounts. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
