World Boss Preview Now Available!

Check out the Mists of Pandaria preview website and get a first glimpse at one of the two new roaming world bosses: Salyis’s Warband! These extremely powerful monsters will do everything in their power to make your life more... “interesting” as you explore the mysterious continent of Pandaria.

World bosses spawn in the open world and can be attacked by any player (un)fortunate enough to cross their paths. Salyis's Warband will be quite rare, while the expansion's other boss will appear with fairly regular frequency. But before you charge headfirst into battle, keep in mind that it will take the combined efforts of a full raid to bring one of these guys to their knees.

Taking down a world boss is no small feat, but the rewards make it all worthwhile: achievements, fabulous items, and massive bragging rights will all be yours if you and your comrades in arms succeed in felling one of these roving terrors. Check back soon for more info on the game's other world boss, the Sha of Anger!

switch the spawn time for SHa and the Lizzard every week cause the lizzard spawn time is way too long

I really hope this is a proper 25-man or even better a 40-man raid boss with 10 additional people on the perimeter keeping an eye out for gank parties, just like with Kruul and the four dragons.

Rly funny here how people say they are gonna solo it. Try it when it's a giant boss in open field with alot of horde and alliance arround. so GL with having the first shot at it and hopefully but not likely, the opposing faction will just watch you kill it.

neither dw and lk were world bossos they were end raid bossos. world bossos goes back to the dragons that used to randomly and rarely spawn around azeroth and people would time when abouts they would spawn so they could camp out and kill before anyone else got a chance and made for ideal ganking grounds for oposing faction. Bringing back world bossos is a fun aspect that is dearly missed and should be fun to gather a raid to take it down but if blizzard has made this world boss too hard then only the top guilds will be capable of doing this and thats based on everything from better gear, better players and lots of fee time. The rest of us wont get a look in unless someone is brave enough to put together a pug and lead them but thats a method for disaster because with a world boss unlike a raid boss you will get outsiders who will interupt you and cause massive wipes.

@Tryllex: Yes exactly! Except that Deathwing isn't a world boss..., but they are replacing Deathwing with this new boss & you will be able to fight this new boss at the end of the Dragon Soul raid in the next expansion, just like it says in the preview text posted above. /Palm

@Tryllex: no its not, Deathwing was a raid boss and this is a world boss. This thing spawns somewhere throughout pandaria and its supposedly going to be really hard. the new raid boss is Garrosh Hellscream, the current leader of the Horde (I think)

Will the world bosses be like a game ive played called Silk Road, that game was very fun asspecially when a world boss appeared.. took around 50 people to kill one and they had a world boss for every 10 levels, so almost any level, you could go and attempt to kill one for your level. Also who ever got the killing blow on the boss the whole server would see the players name, like a raid warning in wow, so it was a big thing to go and kill it, if reputation was a thing you wanted.. looking forward to seeing how these world bosses will be as exciting, annother thing that matters is the visuals of the boss, it needs to be BIG and needs to have a meaning behind it, so it doesn't feel as if your just fighting a large elite that has no meaning to its death which i am sure blizzard will do

@Darctic: no ofc not, DW and LK were both the final (raid) bosses, these are randomly spawning (world) bosses that have nothing to do with the general storyline of MoP
