Same-Faction Rated Battlegrounds

Much like Arenas, Rated Battlegrounds pit organized teams of players against each other in a fight for supremacy. As a reward for displaying great skill, teamwork, and coordination, Rated Battleground teams can earn the best PvP rewards that World of Warcraft offers. Since the introduction of Rated Battlegrounds, competitors have been restricted to testing their might against teams from opposite factions -- until now.

We’re happy to announce that Rated Battlegrounds now allow for matchups between teams from the same faction, just like Arenas. Not only will a larger team pool aid in matchmaking, but it will also help determine who the best of the best truly are. So stand ready, members of the Horde and Alliance, leave your petty squabbling outside these sacred grounds, and be prepared to face all challengers for glory and honor!

It is very very very weird to spawn in WSG at horde side, but it's even weirder to capture a flag in AB and see it turn red.. WITH HORDE SIGN... Come on, Blizz, this is absurd.. I am fighting for the alliance...
Why wasn't it thought about roleplayers.. or people at care at least a little bit about what they are fighting for (not just fight itself).
AT LEAST make flags gold and green like in arenas..

@Evenuel: young sir, do you not understand that by doing this, matchmaking time is decreased, and we can really see who is the best of the best, your not fighting for the ally, its a game.

@Hourior: Learn. To. Read. It's rated battlegrounds, which means no AV. And who cares if you spawn at the Warsong Gulch side as an alliance or vice versa? The flags are going to be gold and green probably.

You should've made the RP realms in another pool since day 1. The lore is screwing up a lot for the people who do not care for it, and when you make good changes like these people start crying about it on the blogs!

@Thion: I shouldn't think so. there are a lot of inside-the-faction struggles that don't take place in the bigger,closer to main plots. (not to mention how all horde leaders hates Garrosh now) there should be plenty of ways to incorporate this in RP play style. unless you meant the above mentioned idea of throwing alliance and horde players together.

While hopefully it will fix w8 time for bg on horde side, it just kills the entire idea of battleground - horde vs alliance. They should rename it to "rated wargame" rather than call it a battleground...

Not to mention that though in theory RBG seemed like a great idea before cata, now it seem to be not that much popular anyway and i doubt this change we help much.

Why not do the same for normal BGs? That would end all inequalities in win-lose ratio that some BGs have and noone could complain

Of course it is a good change. If you do some rated bgs you would not say the contrary, because waiting 15-20m, on the horde side, to get in one, sucks. Besides that, it maximizes the challenge, you are able to fight the good teams in your faction.

Probably because rated BG's have been so monumentally unsuccessful they have to resort to pulling in same faction players. Sadly the only War left in Warcraft now is the glorified duelling in a little closed-off area.

Will I as alliance appear as normal while defending a horde base or will I turn into an orc or whatever for the battle similar to how Old Hillsbrad works?

This is a good change, but don't even try to justify it with lore or get your "serious story face" on. It has no justification in lore, and from this standpoint it's stupid. Trying to fit it into lore just makes me cringe.
