New Guild Services Now Available - Updated

New Guild Services Now Available - Updated

Update: Guild services are now available on all European realms.

We are in the process of adding new guild services that will make relocating to a new realm, switching factions, or changing your guild name easier than ever before. Relocating your guild to a new realm or faction with this new service will keep your guild structure intact, including the guild leader, guild bank, ranks, and guild name (depending on availability.) You won’t even need to pack.

Guild members who decide to relocate with their guild may initiate their own paid character transfer. Upon a successful transfer they will automatically be part of the guild when they first log into the new realm. Their guild rank and guild reputation will be intact.

Guild leaders who do not want a change of scenery may also choose to pick a new guild name using another new service.

As a part of the process for adding these new services, we are launching on a single realm (Illidan-US) to perform additional testing for stability and functionality. We expect to be able to add additional realm availability to the service, including EU realms, in the coming days and weeks.

To learn more, read the FAQ below or visit the paid services page.

What are the guild services for World of Warcraft?

Three guild services are available: Guild Master Realm Transfer, Guild Master Faction Change, and Guild Name Change. These services can only be initiated by a character who is a Guild Master.

How much do these services cost?

When purchased individually, the Guild Master Faction Change costs £30 GBP, the Guild Master Realm Transfer costs £25 GBP, and the Guild Name Change costs £15 GBP. You will receive a bundle discount when purchasing Guild Transfer and Faction Change in the same transaction, £50 GBP. In addition, one Guild Name Change is free with the purchase of either a Guild Master Faction Change or Guild Master Realm Transfer. All sales of guild services are final — no refunds will be given once a purchase is made.

Aside from being a Guild Master, are there any other requirements for the character that initiates a guild service?

The Guild Master must meet the same requirements governing the equivalent character-level service (such as Character Transfer), including being at least level 10 (except for Guild Name Change) on an account in good standing. View the Character Transfer FAQ or Faction Change FAQ for more details.

In addition, the Guild Master's Battle.net account must be protected by a Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator that has been active for at least seven days (starting at the time of the first Authenticator-protected login to the game) before a guild service can be initiated. If additional security-related requirements apply to your character, they will be brought to your attention when you initiate a guild service.

Also, the guild master must have had his rank for at least seven days before he can transfer the guild.

Are there any requirements for the guild to be able to undergo a guild service?

A guild must be at least level 2 to undergo a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change. There is no level requirement for a Guild Name Change.

How do the two “Guild Master” services work?

When performing a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Guild Master Faction Change, only the Guild Master character transfers realms or switches factions. The Guild Master takes the framework of the guild as well, including the guild vault, level, perks, and achievements.

What happens to my guild members?

Your guild members remain in the original guild. The original guild will be reset to level 1 and will not retain its guild bank or any of its achievements, reputation, or progression. You will also select a new Guild Master from the guild roster to replace you after your character leaves. Your guild members will be eligible to follow you to the guild’s new location by performing their own character service (such as a Character Transfer [IS4]). If they do so, they will automatically rejoin the guild and retain their guild reputation.

Guild members who plan to transfer to the guild’s new location should not quit the original guild — otherwise, they will not regain their guild reputation after transferring to guild’s new location.

What happens to my guild bank, level, and so on?

The guild bank, level, perks, and achievements transfer with the Guild Master character to the new realm and/or faction.

Will individual members’ guild reputation be retained when they rejoin the guild?

The Guild Master character will retain his or her reputation after transferring, and guild members who decide to transfer will regain their guild reputation when they rejoin the guild at its new location. However, there are two notable exceptions where this does not occur: if the guild member transfers realms before the Guild Master, or if the guild member quits the guild on the original realm before transferring realms.

Also note that if a guild member leaves a guild that has moved to a new location, the member’s reputation with that guild will be wiped after 30 days. The member’s reputation will be completely reset if the character joins a new guild.

How long will a player be eligible to follow a Guild Master after a realm transfer or faction change?

There is no time limit on following a Guild Master to a new location, as long as the guild member does not leave the current guild before Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change is complete.

Is there anything that doesn’t transfer with the Guild Master?

Besides your guild members, the only thing that doesn’t transfer is your guild rank structure. You will have to reassign ranks at the new location.

How will my guild members know when this happens and how to follow me?

After a Guild Master service is complete, the Guild Message of the Day will automatically be updated to indicate the guild has moved, and your guild members will receive an in-game mail with instructions on how to follow you. They will be directed to Battle.net account management to initiate their own character service(s), which will need to be purchased separately. This process will be streamlined, so options such as the destination realm and/or faction will be preconfigured.

Will there be an out-of-game notification of a guild realm transfer or faction change?

No, the only notification will be the in-game mail delivered to your guild members.

Are there any requirements for a guild member who wants to follow a Guild Master Realm Transfer or Faction Change?

The guild member must meet the requirements of the character service they are undergoing (Character Transfer or Faction Change), including being at least level 10 and on an account in good standing. For the complete list of requirements, refer to the Character Transfer FAQ or the Faction Change FAQ.

How long does a guild service take?

Under normal conditions, a guild service takes one to two hours to complete, but please allow up to several days.

Is there a cooldown period for guild Realm Transfers, Faction Changes, or Name Changes?

The cooldown periods for guild Realm Transfers, Faction Changes, and Names Changes are each 30 days. These cooldowns will not overlap with each other.

What happens if I transfer my guild to a realm where my guild name is taken?

If your guild name is taken on the destination realm, you’ll be prompted to pick a new name for your guild during the realm transfer process on the Battle.net website.

Can I customize my character and name when doing a faction change?

Yes, the same character customization options offered in the Appearance Change service are included in a Guild Master Faction Change.

@Líám: why not ppl pay the full price for Character & Faction change, tbh Im a GM and I like the fact that if my realm goes down hill and its time to get up and go I dont need to start again getting to g-lvl 25. £50 can be made more than once in the time it takes to lvl a guild to max.

@Lúthién: things £50 is better spent on bills, partner, my child and a load of other things. its all about prospective if a level 25 guild is more important than all the things above then you need help. every week when i get paid one of those thing would always come first unless i got like a big bonus in my pay

doesn't sound like anything i'd shell out for but if others feel the need and have the cashish i don't see a problem. i mean fairplay, bliz could just say 'no, you're stuck where you are. deal with it.' which i think would be my attitude! if realm changing for kicks is your thing, play rift. It's free on that game. Unfortunately that game is drier than my dead grandmother's...

You're all forgetting one thing: World of Warcraft was made to make money. Sure.. to give you guys an awesome game to play, but the continuous entertainment is so that you keep subscribing towards the game to play it. Of course they want money, it's the reason the company was founded in the first place. With reputation and fame comes money. Frankly, the idea is rather good, and can allow guild masters with their level 25 guilds to head somewhere else without getting it from 1 to 25 once again. And I don't think in-game cash is a pretty good idea to those who suggested it, such services would require a lot of gold to pay to actually change the name. And Blizzard changing names via using such services would be rather costly for them. Thus the reason of IRL money. Either way.. it's a good idea!

The guild rep? are you ******* serious?? You can farm guild rep with in about 2 weeks by simply doing 2v2 wearing your epic guild tabard. You get about 800 rep per win ... i think the guild rep cap DAILY is at about what 5k? So what you can rougly get friendly with in a day.. Rep is so easy to get and if you have just learnt about this then LOL

@Bismo: First of all, the guild rep cap resets weekly, not daily.

Second, you can get to honored in one day. With your epic tabard and 10% rep guild perk, you will be honored after 15 won 2v2 matches. So yeah, you can actually get honored in a few hours... But then you have to wait a week to continue.

Easy to say, don´t complain about new changes else just stop playing the game. Some people have been playing WoW since Vanilla, that means that they are used to the enviorment of the game, and sure they´ve left the game for a few months to try other games, but they always went back to WoW to talk to the people they know on it and to have fun with their guild that some have been in for years aswell. As you play this game and pay for it, would it be monthly or 6 months at once, you're a customer that pays for services. This also means that if you're not happy with what's happening in 'your' game, you can let others know just this fact. And be fair, Bliz has been mooching and f-ing up alot since Wrath, adding things that weren't needed and asking money for the most ridiculous things, you can call them dumb or smart up to you, but keep in mind that from the 10 people that are playing now, 7 are under the age of where you make your own money and therefor mum and dad will always open their wallet to spend some pounds or euro's for some silly pixel pet. It's just up to Bliz to see through their own ideas, will you keep up stealing ideas from other games and milking your own customers, old and new for every penny they have, or will they finally stop doing things like this and just focus back on what the game was about, being the best MMORP released.

( PS. 1 pet that you had to pay for does get my vote, the For Japan heiroblabla flapper/bird thing. Atleast we 'know' bliz shared the cash on that thing for something good.)

@Zenn: 'Stealing' ideas or, rather, taking those ideas to make a further profit will..well.. give them more of a profit. I'm sure you would do the same if you lead the Blizzard company, getting all that money and such.. Seriously. Think about the reason the bloody company was created in the first place, they have to up their game as the gaming age heads on forward, by trying out new things such as this.. think about it before posting.

@Darrias: Stealing one idea in a business like this is only human, but if you would scurvey around a bit in other games, you will see that WoW has taken almost -everything- since end Wrath from other games, and this goes from Aion seal graphics to Alords Online talent tree's. Upping your game by adding new stuff is always a must, but if all the new stuff is from games that other people (Some of them are ex players of WoW), it just shows that Bliz has no inspiration anymore which you might've noticed with the gear which they just recolour for 3 raids long or using old content with bosses that should've been dead by a long go or just the sudden jump to Pandarians while they could've gone Emerald Dream or Old God content instead (don't see a whole expansion popping out the Pandarians.. ) and asking money for the smallest of things comes off, to me, as if they're in dire need of some cash rather than anything else.

Wouldn't it be easier if it cost in-game gold to change the name? Instead of £15 was it? That is far too much money for a bloody Guild name change. I can understand the Realm change of course. But really? That is far too much money. It is a great idea, i've always wanted to change names ect, but why that much money! Its a joke. Its bad enough the expansions being like £40 and the subscription being around £10 a month.

@Bamboozled: Do you think that £15 is alot if everyone in the guild contributes? Or the guild could make a deal, the one who pays receives alot of gold... Remember, this isn't you who has to get the money, it's the guild.

Why you all complaining about the next expansion. It will cost the same as the others and theres noting wrong with pandas. We have loads of other stuff like draenei and worgans and stuff so why not? Plus we could of had them instead of draenei and could have been on about them instead of pandas.

I read all of your comments, and laugh to be honest, If your a tight guild like my main is, there 10 of us, so if we all chipped in and paid £5 each, to transfer our levle 25 guild over with all of its achivements, thats not that bad, seen as we've all realm/faction changed anyway last week.
