@Joulius: -.- noooo... server blades are basicly mini servers which all fit into a blade enclosure to make a blade system, the enclosure links, powers and networks all of the server blades. If you had one you could basiclly make your own Wow Server :)

@Kianake: Well this is just the way that charity auctions work, so being snarky about it serves no real purpose. :) I'm fairly sure that any major corporation would be able to float the entire sum brought in by the auction without taking too big of a financial hit (which they probably already do one way or another... CSR is important in this day and age), but this is standard procedure when it comes to old stuff. Think of it as a way to giving something to the community for actually giving to charity, whether or not it's old clothes from movies, server blades or a rear spoiler from a Formula 1 car (all of these sold in recent charity auctions). If old server blades can be given new life as home decoration while also bringing in some cash for a charity instead of just being recycled/trashed then that's a great thing, even if Blizzard could technically have just thrown away the servers and added a contribution to St. Judes to the CSR/Charity post in their annual report. It's just a much better system to do it this way.

@Pmbm: finally someone who isn't brainwashed. besides if i want to donate to charity (what i actually do) i do it in old fashion way. gives me more credibility where my money are actually going, u know what i mean

@Swatpanterke: Well, its a kind of a computer, just much smaller, because some people needs it for server hosting, and they takes much lesser space, in other words, more servers on the same place.

@Tavrendruid: Its what the server runs on. handles all the information for everyone connected to it.

@Narisha: This is the final wave of the charity auction for EU realms. The server blades for many realms have already been won in the previous waves of the charity auction, which is why they are no longer available.

@Ruiru: They're pretty nice indeed. I really wish I had bought one from my realm when they were still available in the previous auctions. So many years, so many memories from that place. :)
