Leaders of Azeroth: Velen Short Story Now Available

Not long ago, the prophet Velen and a number of draenei resettled on Azeroth, hoping to put a halt to the Legion’s murderous activities in Outland. Sensing great courage in the Alliance, the draenei pledged themselves to this noble faction.

Yet much time has passed since then. The Legion's forces in Outland have been greatly diminished. Now, Velen must guide his people into an uncertain future and decide what role, if any, the draenei will play in the Alliance.

The Seat of the Naaru's soaring energies inspired inner peace from the most bloodthirsty of warrior pilgrims, awe from even the most jaded of Azeroth's inhabitants. The figure floating before the Seat had long taken comfort from this column of Light. Velen looked out from his meditation chamber, seeking insight. . . in all the connections, great and small, where he might perceive the lines of the future. For the past several months, those lines had increasingly felt fragmented.

As the Prophet of the draenei meditated -- his legs crossed beneath him, his hands resting on his ancient knees -- the crystals that reflected his energies glowed and pulsed and swirled around him, not in patterns but in chaos. And the visions, the endless possibilities of tomorrows, assaulted him.

Blizzard Entertainment is proud to present the latest entry in the "Leaders of Azeroth" short story series: Prophet's Lesson!

Nice story but really...Anduin Wyrnn? What are the chances he is some "chosen one"?

Childrens Week this week reminded me that Dornaa is the true chosen one of the Draenai. I say scrap Anduin and sub in Dornaa, she'd kick his !@# any day.

Does this mean that in Mists of Pandaria, Stormwind and Exodar will be repaired? How about the dam in Loch Modan? Jumping off the dam was one of my favourite memories of the original game.

Sounds very similar to Nozdormu in "Twilight of the aspects". Old and very powerful being loosing himself in visions and forgetting about the present, only to have an induvidual of a "lesser race" helping them back to the path.

Great story, hope to see more of em coming our way in the future. Its to bad they don’t implement some of the things in the game as well, like the refuge camp outside Exodar and some more visual progression on the repairs of the same. But I guess man power and recourses cant be diverted for it, with MoP and all its awesomeness on its way.

Just read the story, amazing. I hope more of this comes to pass in mop with its start of a relationship between the pandren and the prince. This guy seams to be a good writer and has a handle on velen that I've not read since Rise of the Horde.

It was fairly well-written, however I am a little disappointed in the focus of it - and also, this isn't really how Velen has been portrayed until late. I suppose maybe he has gradually shifted focus so abstract the past few years - but he always seemed too caring to get so far removed from the individual such as this.

By the way - repaired Exodar, huh? Argus next, I can sense it.

@Rhynnia:I don't think the Dranei have the power to go to argus, first we don't know if it exist any longer. Second it's the home planet of the Eredar, where the dranei where only a small group exiled that fled. If it still exist we have no idea on how hard it's going to be, to invade a planet populated by the most powerful warlocks of the burning legion. Also it would be sad to see the dranei turn to vengeance and make a crusade against Argus, Instead of the world and uniting them. I would rather count on Outland to be the next place. I apologist if I in any way upset you with this comment.

@Edro: Draenei are Eredar refugees, a fairly small group. They started out as about a third of the whole Eredar race, but they were victim of a great massacre on Draenor/Outland.

So now there are not that many left. That's why they became a part of the Alliance, to share their beliefs of the holy light and fight together against the Burning Legion on Azeroth and Outland.
