World Premiere of Mists of Pandaria Opening Cinematic at gamescom 2012

The largest games convention on Earth is happening in Cologne, Germany from August 15 to 19 this year. Blizzard Entertainment is excited to announce our presence at gamescom 2012, where visitors will have the chance to witness the world premiere of the World of Warcraft®: Mists of Pandaria™ opening cinematic. The latest creation from Blizzard’s cinematics team will be shown on giant screens at our booth on Thursday, August 16, the first fully public day of the event.

We’re also pleased to announce that this year we’ll be showcasing World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Diablo® III, and StarCraft® II: Heart of the Swarm™! Don’t miss your chance to experience the games first-hand and to meet members of the development teams. In addition, be sure to get creative and join in our famous dance and costume competitions.

Visit the Blizzard Entertainment booth in Halle 6.1 (B21) at the Koelnmesse in Cologne and prepare to be epically entertained. For more information on gamescom, check out the official site.

@Boomerz: Why be so unpatient? Every expansion came out on december just like MoP will. Why else would Blizzcon be cancelled. I don't understand why people are so dumb and unpatient.

@Boomerz: Aha :P I must laugh.

Ye Blizzard! Why don't you just make a new expansion each month? I'm so good at making games I can make two expansions in one day. Thank you for letting me wait so long. Thank you for making a bad expansion with only !@#$ in. Rift is alot better. Bla. bla. bla.

Stop whining Boomerz. Blizzard can't make an expansion just like that. And they can't please every single player.

They're doing a great job. Just wait and see. I love their work and I can see the meaning behind their decissions. Give them time :p

I am happy for them to take their time releasing mop. Longer they have the better it will be. Dont want a rushed bug riddled expansion for first couple months of it. From what I've seen so far it looks really fun. By the way NO ONE cares about ppl who complain about cata.

@Rogualdo: Rogualdo, we aren't like you, we want a good expansion release without any bugs or atleast minimun bugs. Just put your subscription on hold untill december when MoP gets released and play some other games in the meantime.

@Bionic: No. Just no.

"People should know this"...
- The Burning Crusade, was released on January 16, 2007.
- Wrath of the Lich King, was released on November 13, 2008.
- Cataclysm, was released on December 7, 2010.

In my opinion I'd say Blizzard are optimistic about the expansion being released around august. Brewfest Items have been updated for level 90 and that event takes place at the end of September which could suggest they are confident people will be level 90 and taking part in the events by this point.

@Héalthybélfy: Actually they said in this post there will be costume contests at this event so it feels like a Blizzcon here in Europe, she is right to query that question.

@Lichbaner: For the pre-MoP patch you mean? We don't know yet... My best guess would around late August or early September, judging from previous timelines of cinematics ---> book release ---> pre-patch ---> expansion release

Got the beta but I don't wanna level. Don't want to level so I don't know all the quests and experience something new when it comes out but 4.3 is really boring now. It was fun the first couple of months but something has to happen quick cause it's getting boring. Don't release the game too early though I see a lot of fixing that is needed in the beta including some spells and a bit of nerfs are also needed.

This is my guess of what Mists of Pandaria cinematic would look like:

An old pandarian sitting on the top of mountain, feeling the wind blowing through him. He then sense something terrible is happening. He stands up and walks down the mountain with his walking stick that has a tea pot tighten around it.

Next scene: In the sea, the ships of Horde and Alliance fire their cannon at each other and shows Garrosh on his throne ordering his men to fire! While Jaina does the same except standing with her men.

Next scene: Horde and Alliance in Pandaria come together and learn the moves of the monk taught by a pandaren monk. Some meditate, some stand on a pole, some even do some kicking at each other.

Next scene: One of them done their training and they went off to the forest. Suddenly, the enemies like Mogu show up and start to have the battle and that's when the Horde and Alliance start unleashing what they have been trained for, MONK STYLE!! With lots of punching, kicking and using some cool attacks.

Final scene: Before the cinematic ends, Garrosh steps in, raging over those who betrayed him. His final words of this scene is: "If you are against me, then so be it. THOSE WHO OPPOSE ME WON'T LIVE LONG ENOUGH!!! IF YOU WANT TO SLAY ME FOR YOUR TRIUMPH THEN COME AND GET ME!!!! *ROAR*"

*Ends the cinematic with World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria logo*

And that's all I can think in my head ;)

@Markules:
Must say that's an interesting way of thinking how it will go , it will probably end up something like this.
I am really unsure what blizzard will do with it, seeing there is no big enemy you want to kill like all other cinematic where based on.

@Markules: Indeed my friend,this is probably what will happen,except for one small thing. The last phrase that Garrosh says(I still miss Thrall) won't be that,it HAS to be a little more dramatic. Maybe he will be on a higher spot,and before the cinematic ends he jumps towards the ones who betrayed him,his body blocking the sun,some dramatic music,and then Mists of Pandaria logo. That's my view of things.
