Announcing World of Warcraft: Tides of War by Christie Golden

The next pivotal novel in the unfolding Warcraft saga is now available for pre-order! Written by fan favorite New York Times bestselling author, Christie Golden, Tides of War raises the stakes between the Alliance and Horde and sets the stage for World of Warcraft’s newest game expansion, Mists of Pandaria. We are also proud to reveal the stunning cover art by Glenn Rayne.

About World of Warcraft: Tides of War:

The renowned sorceress Jaina Proudmoore has long struggled to maintain a lasting peace between the Alliance and horde.

But now, as mounting tensions threaten to ignite a new era of conflict, her hopes for peace could be extinguished forever...

Warchief Garrosh, obsessed with assuring the Horde’s supremacy over Kalimdor, launches an all-out attack against Jaina's island home of Theramore. Though the valiant Alliance defenders rush to repel the sudden onslaught, they’ll soon find themselves unprepared for the terrible scope of Garrosh's true plans…

The destruction wrought by the Horde’s brazen attack irrevocably transforms Jaina, propelling the kindhearted diplomat down a path of grief and vengeance that will alter not only her destiny – but the destiny of Azeroth itself.

@Velubellu: as far as we know/been handed bits of information, her appearance will change from blonde to grey/white hair, eyes glowing similar to the elves' style from arcane powers, and she's going bat-!@#$ crazy (sorry for use of words^^) and transforming from peaceful leader to a total warmonger, declaring time of peace as being over and starting to take an active role in the H-vs-A war. The picture of her underwater surely is a scene during the Theramore attack, her being flung into the water when Garrosh's true plan hits (won't spoil anything here, for those who don't know what is going to happen!)

@Rebot: I wouldn’t be so optimistic I have being hearing the rumor about a WoW movie since BC I even heard that they sealed a deal with a famous director( can’t remember his name :-) ) but do you see any movie in the horizon after so many years?
@Demonbaron: Don't worry, we're still working on it :)

@Rebot: There will be a movie, the game's too much of a cult idol not to. The director they hired (and I don't know if that is so still) was rumored to be the one who directed Spider Man. Lets just hope Blizzard doesn't miss-cast likre they misscasted Toby Maguire for Spidey's role :D
And yes, it will probably be live action and not animated. WoW's going to get a hottie in there like... iunno George Clooney to play a sarcastic blood elf paladin. Opening night platinum paycheck right there. Clooney's got swag, his milk will bring all the cougars to the yard. A whole new fanbase for blizz to act upon.

they should make a movie of the game.
starting with wow then bc -->lich king-->cata--->MoP

they can use the orcs from LoTR and nightelves too. i think legolas wouldn't mind to play a evil bloodelf. maybe aragorn can be some king of stormwind and gimlie takes muradins part lol. ofc the movie wouldn't work without a nice mage called gandalf.

@Breezer: There are many books, Breezer, but I suggest 'Rise of the Horde' - Christie Golden; in the book Thrall tells the story of the first Horde, made up of only Orcs) as told to him by Drek, Thar and also the story of the Draenei. 'Tides of Darkness' - Aaron Rosenberg; this tells the story of the forging of the Alliance. 'The Shattering - Prelude to Cataclysm' - Christie Golden; this tells the lore (story) of the events leading up to World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion pack. These 3 novels are all World of Warcraft novels and there are more WoW novels; 'Arthas: Rise of the Lich King' - Christie Golden, 'Stormrage' - Richard Knaak (this is about Malfurion Stormrage). Hope this helps.

@Nightdawn: Well to be honest, Day of the Dragon was pretty enlightening pre-cataclysm. Thrall was the book that summarised Thrall's position during the cataclysm, and how he played an important role as a Shaman. The one you mean is "Lord of the Clans" and how Thrall's life started until his rise to the Warchief position was achieved. This includes Garrosh's father, and the Frostwolf clan.

Probably (because you're Alliance) Wolfheart would be a good read too, it explains how the Worgen got into the Alliance and how Maiev Shadowsong (captive, captor and slayer of Illidan Stormrage if I'm correct) betrayed the Alliance. Hard book to get into, but once you get to reading it's really good.
