Brewfest !

Brewfest !

Brewfest is a time for both the Horde and Alliance to enjoy the fermented fruits of the harvest: pretzels, cheese, and booze! The competing Thunderbrew and Barleybrew breweries (along with neutral Ogre brewers) come together outside of all the major cities in a bid to outdo each other with their ales, meads, and beers. Sit back, take a pull, and sample the finest wares these brewers have to offer!

Event Details

When:   September 28 - October 13th
Where: Main Event: Ironforge (Alliance) and Orgrimmar (Horde). Beer gardens will also be set up outside of Silvermoon City, Darnassus, Undercity, Stormwind, Thunder Bluff, the Exodar, and Shattrath.

Activities

Every year, brewmasters from Drohn’s Distillery, T’chali’s Voodoo Brewery, and the rival Barleybrew and Thunderbrew families  celebrate their handiwork with two weeks of fun, frivolity, steins, spirits, and sausages outside the gates of Ironforge and Orgrimmar.

As with any event that attracts so many revelers, it’s only a matter of time before someone shows up to crash the party – in this case, the Dark Iron Dwarves of Blackrock Mountain. If you can drive the Dark Irons back to the Grim Guzzler, you’ll earn valuable Brewfest Prize Tokens; if the Dark Iron assailants are already running for the mountains, you can earn tokens by completing daily keg deliveries, barking runs for the brewers, and other quests that will challenge your drinking prowess. After a few too many, you might even spot a pink elekk or wild wolpertinger.

Brewfest Prize Tokens
Brewfest Prize Tokens are the currency used to purchase festival clothing and other special items. You can collect them by completing quests offered as part of the festival.

Seasonal Boss: Coren Direbrew
Irritated by badly-behaved party-crashers? Track down the source of the Dark Iron attacks and end them once and for all. If you’ll track the Dark Irons’ trail of evidence back to Blackrock Depths, you can do battle with the mastermind plaguing Beerfest - Coren Direbrew (you need to be level 89 at least to fight him). He drops special rewards including epic weapons, trinkets, and rare mounts.

Ram Racing
Adventurers can show their ram-riding skills by speaking with Neill Ramstein or Ram Master Ray. Before they'll trust you with their precious rams, though, you'll need to prove that you can control one! Once you've proven your expertise at handling the rams, you can earn Brewfest Prize Tickets by picking up kegs of brew from Kharanos or Razor Hill and bringing them back to the fest.

Barkers Wanted
The representatives of some of the major breweries want adventurers to help out by advertizing their brews in Orgrimmar and Ironforge; just speak to one of the brewers for Barleybrew or Thunderbrew (outside of Ironforge) or T'chali's Voodoo Brewery or Drohn's Distillery (outside of Orgrimmar) to get started shilling suds.

Brew of the Month Club
For 200 Brewfest Tokens, you can join the exclusive "Brew of the Month" Club. Once you’ve become a member, you are sent a new brew in the mail every month, each with different properties. If the brew is to your liking, you can purchase more from specific vendors in Ironforge or Orgrimmar. Membership lasts one year and will need to be renewed the following year.

Ceremonial Keg-Tapping
Each day at 6:15 AM and 6:15 PM server time, High Tinker Mekkatorque (Ironforge) and Vol'jin (Orgrimmar) come out to the Brewfest grounds for a brief Tapping of the Keg ceremony. Everyone who witnesses the ceremony will receive a buff that increases experience they’ll earn for kills by 10% for two hours.

Merchants & Vendors
These professional hoarders will accept your Brewfest Prize Tokens in exchange for food, festive clothes, mounts, a pet, and more!

Ok, the timing for this event sucks greatly. All casual players like me, who has a life outside of wow, are not even interested in doing the rush it takes to level a character up to level 89 in such a short time. WHY did Blizzard need to include an achievement that needed me to be level 89 to get the Brewmaster. That's what really sucks! It means that I need to wait one more year to get the overall achievement "what a long strange trip".
This nice game, suddenly lost a LOT of its attraction on me.

The timing for this event sucks, no discussion. But what is getting to me this year is the lootable.
Yet another class that can need on the coaster trinket? When it finally drops, after 22 kills, 4 out of in the group can need for it. Meanwhile there's 2 tanktrinkets. Just another tiny little straw on the camels back

well, ive got 10 85s not took me 7 years :L but i think its rather stupid how ill also have to level them to 89 to get the chance to get the mount... pretty ridiculous really, they should release this event atleast a month or two after the new expansion.. give people a chance ay?

@Ngblitzz: Agree with this post, I have 7 lvl 85's with all in all 38 char's. Why does Blizzard 'Panda' (sorry for the pun :P) to the folks who power lvl one char, then moan that there is not enough content. Maybe Blizzard will bring out a Mount for those who have made the effort to lvl one of each race....
wink,wink Dev team :)

@Teamie: The world is not going to end tomorrow.... be patient and enjoy the game: What enjoyment or satisfaction do folks get from 'buying' such items. I have run Stratholme over 150 times in the past to try to get the mount.... No mount..... and yes it does get frustrating, but it's a goal to achieve.... Keep rockin' on Dude!

To bad its only for level 89-90. Its a petty infact.
So many people are missing this event to farm the mount etc. Not everybody is lvl 89-90 yet seeing as the expansion is only since a week live.
@Castrare: There's still quite a few days left for the event to close, we know the timing is not ideal but at least players should have no problem getting their trinkets as you can queue as many times as you want per day and you can even do it at 89.

@Taepsilum: On a side note, is my vendor trying to trick me? It sells the Wolpertinger's Tankard for 200, here you guys say it's 100.
@Seizonsha: Have you tried bargaining with him? Maybe he lowers the price!
Just kidding, it's only a blog typo, thanks for bringing it up.
Generally WoW vendors are very trustworthy fellows, except if they’re murloc vendors of course, trust me on this one (or maybe you shouldn't!) eheheh ;)

"Commemorative Stein
Each year of Brewfest, you can receive a unique commemorative stein as a quest reward for participating in Brewfest."

Untrue. Not only is this years stein still the same as last years stein, it has the same ID number thus preventing people from handing the quest in if they did it last year. And to really add insult to injury, the quest text for the stein quest is last years apology for not providing a unique stein for the year before that.

Blizzard PLEASE! Make it a lvl 85+ event for another year... you can't expect everybody to no-life for a week just to race to lvl 90, not enjoying your content. I love MoP, but i don't want to focus on just leveling, with all the new stuff i should be able to relax and enjoy brewfest without beeing lvl 90... idiotic thinking

This year's Brewfest is a non-Event; probably be a whole bunch of L89-90 QQ-ing over Copren Direbrew Event because they have no-one to play with - - most players will be L88 (at best) by the time Brewfest finishes... should have left it as L85 for another year.

"This cute companion, taught by a Wolpertinger's Tankard, is a reward for the successful completion of the quest “Catch the wild Wolpertinger!”

I understand that EU rules prevent having this quest, but surely replacing the US' super easy requirements to achieve this pet (and it's required for meta) with a cost of 200 tokens is not even close to fair.

With very little time to play, and tokens not carrying year to year, that's long strange trip out of the window again.

Fix please.
