The first PvP season of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria is now underway! Team and Personal Ratings have been reset and players are now able to compete in level-90 Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds for the best PvP gear, items, and titles.

Prepare yourselves for battle as the bloody struggle between the Horde and the Alliance continues on Pandaria’s shores!

* MMR was decided to not be reset with the start of Season 12 as was previously stated. We apologize for any confusion.

Why is the season destroyed because they won't reset the MMR?
People with high MMR would go back to really low level and just steamroll pvp scrubs like myself.
That doesn't sound like fun

Guys, can you please tell me what the "MMR" is?
I really wanna start do some arena in MoP, but first i would like to understand how it all works :)
Has the MMR anything to do with your rating?

@Numtrers: The MMR has something to do with your arena' rating yes. It means Matchmaking Rating, wich means ETC : If you're 1,550 MMR and meet a 1,750 MMR'team and you win you will gain 95 rating, BUT if you're 1,550 and meet a 1,350 or something you will only get 30-40 (if you win).

Best thing would be to make PvP servers and PvE servers differ from eachother where abilityes work differently. Sure its nice critting for 200k, and able to make yourself immune for long periods of time and Heal like the Creator himself when you are taking on Deathwing or some such PvE Boss, But in PvP when you crit for 200k, Heal like you are God or can pop immunity for long periods of time, it really upsets the balance.

I would also like to propose Battlegrounds where all characthers are fitted in equal gear where you cant rely on steamrolling people because you have no life and got the best gear possible to obtain. Would be a neat option for casual gamers to join such battlegrounds or Arena`s :)

Looks like another broken season to me. I am fairly new to WoW, i joined last christmas and since then last season i got to around 2200 in 3v3. I still found it incredibly unabalanced and hated the way Mages and Rogues could just beat people with ease. After that, i levelled this warrior from 55-85 just 2 days before Mists was released and I was hoping for some great PvP this season. But here we are now, MMR isn't being reset, the Hybrid healing specs are ridiculous and it looks set to be another waste of time. I know it may seem strange qq'ing as a warrior about other classes, but looking at the difference between second wind and some ok burst damage, to other classes. We aren't too great.

Just like the level 70 PvP gear was in Shattrath in TBC and level 80 PvP gear was in Dalaran in WotLK, the level 90 PvP gear vendor is now in Pandaria, somewhere along the great wall.

@Saladina: Just along the Wall that seperates Valley of the Four Winds, and Dread Wastes. You can take the flightpath to Serpent Shrine and run left from there, you will soon find it.
