Cinder Kitten Raises More Than $2.3 Million

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of World of Warcraft players around the world who purchased the Cinder Kitten pet, we’ve raised a total of more than $2.3 million USD to support the American Red Cross’s ongoing Superstorm Sandy relief efforts. In December, we announced that for every Cinder Kitten purchased by December 31, 2012, 100% of the adoption fee would be going to assist victims of this disaster -- and the community embraced this fiery feline in droves, helping out a great cause in the process. Thanks again to everyone who helped make a difference.

people are naive or what- Blizz didnt make any money on it? Yea right :) Ever heard of "charitable deduction on tax bill"? A company gives money to charity- they get to claim back 25% off every 1 GBP/USD back from goverment. Calculate out how much they just made.

This is good i like it :) but if blizz would make lot of more charity donations then people wont buy all the time its needs like 3months gap and blizz dont get any money for doing it so it wont be TO OFTEN! ;)

Blizzard, why dont you do this more often? You could sometimes make one of the existing store pets or items 100% donation to a reputable charity. I think you'd sell alot more pets as people would be happy the money is being donated to a good cause.

It would cost you very little really, the pets are already there and I doubt its much work to change the store, and the whole process of someone buying a pet to getting the pet ingame is already inplace. And it would just be a nice thing to do! Look on the news, so many people around the world need help, and something so simple could make quite a difference! :)

The amount on that check is most likely just a number that looks good, with all the zeros, while the actual amount got transferred. That check is prolly just to hang on a wall to display how much blizz/buyers gave. I believe that when they say that 100% will go to red cross then it does.

why are ppl being such morons about the amount they gave? mimimimi it's exactly 2.3 m $.. where did the other 2386$ go huh? HUH cheap blizzard!!! I mean come on.. You bought the pet out of free will and they probably wired the money directly and u didn't get ripped off.. you got your pet, they got, I would believe, all the money and still people are asking for nickles and cents and being a#%es about not getting something in return for helping other people in need.. god damn some people are small minded
