Conquest Points - Breaking Skulls and Buying Stuff

Conquest Points - Breaking Skulls and Buying Stuff

Bone-shattering PvP conflicts can be harrowing and demanding, but smart gladiators know that if you want to emerge triumphant, you need to walk onto the battlefield well-equipped.

In World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, certain PvP pursuits reward players with a new kind of currency: Conquest Points. Conquest Points can be exchanged for the very best PvP armor, gear, and weapons in the game, allowing you to hone your competitive edge in the ring and on the battlefield.

Those Gladiator items are calling, but how do you get the Conquest Points to buy them? There are three main ways to do so:

  • Winning Arena matches
  • Winning Rated Battleground games
  • Winning your first Random Battleground game of the day

Each time your team wins a Rated Arena or Rated Battleground match, you're awarded a certain number of Conquest Points; no points are awarded for losing, however. Your first Random Battleground win of the day will also net you 25 Conquest Points.

There's a limit on how many Conquest Points you can gain over the course of a single week, and points earned from all sources count toward that total. Everyone starts at 0 personal rating with a weekly cap of 1,343, which is the most points you can accrue over the course of a week. Unlike Honor and Justice Points, Conquest (and Valor) points do not have an overall cap.

Note: There's no benefit to hoarding large amounts of Conquest Points since they'll be converted into Honor (or Justice Points, for Valor) when the next tier of items becomes available, and there are no plans to extend the 4,000 point cap on the lower-tier currencies. That conversion is still rather far in the future, though, and we plan to provide plenty of advance warning before it happens. In the meantime, feel free to purchase items you want as soon as you can afford them.

If you want to be able to earn more than 1,343 Conquest Points in a single week, then you'll need to increase your personal rating above 1,500 by participating in Rated Arenas or Rated Battlegrounds. Only your best personal rating counts, and as you improve and bring your rating over 1,500, your weekly point cap will rise as well -- and if you manage to achieve a very high rating, your weekly cap could approach 3,000.

Your point cap is based on your highest active personal rating from the previous week. For an arena team rating to be considered active, the team must have played at least one match during the previous week, and you must have played in at least 30% of the team’s total matches that week. In the case of rated battlegrounds, to be considered active you need to have played a minimum of one single match in the previous week. If you don’t meet either of these requirements during one week, the following week your point cap will temporarily return to the default of 1343 until you again meet the above requirements to be considered active for the next week.

Here are some sample ratings and corresponding point caps:

Rating Weekly Points Cap
1500 1343
1800 1940
2100 2533
2400 2849
2700 2849
3000 3000

You can check your current total number of Conquest Points at any time in your character's Currency tab. For more detailed information, open the PvP menu and click on the Conquest tab, where you'll find how close you are to the weekly cap and how many points you'll earn by winning an Arena or Rated Battleground match. You can check out what the Conquest Point vendors have to offer in the Champions' Hall in Stormwind or the Hall of Legends in Orgrimmar.

Now that you know what you're fighting for, it's time to show Azeroth your incredible PvP skills. Confront your foes. Fight! Win!

You're really stupid spamming agility gems all over your gear!
Learn how to play first! and btw there are many more rogues at your level that is better than you that dosnt spam agility gems and actually do knows how to play a rogue.

Even this guy: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Soulflayer/%D0%90%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B7/advanced is 1000000x better than you're.

@ Buzzanca
If they created a search engine, it would be just like normal BG search engine and that wouldn't work. Then there would be no difference at all and your skill wouldn't reflect on your rating. The whole point is to get together with people you know (just like arena) and then see what you can do against another dedicated team. If it was all random, it would be just like a normal BG, but with conquest points and rating instead, and that seems fairly stupid to me.

Hello, why you don't create a rated battle group search engine? In my server it is not possible to enter rated BG because there are a very poor number of PVP guilds and all are very close to new member. Give the possibility to single players to partecipate and buy a good gear, the single players are the large number in WoW, we pay the fee and I think we have the right to play like the few number of players that are in a PVP guilds or in an Arena teams. Thank you

Macro's are, at best, unskillful, unreliable and cause you to become worse at actually playing your class. Copy and pasting a macro from an arena forum does not make you a skilled player. At worst they don't work when you really need them to.

To be honest I think the cap needs to be raised or the amount won/arena lowered. Takes me about a couple of hours (Sometimes less) to hit the cap, I'm then sat there pretty much just twiddling my thumbs for the rest of the week. Why bother with honor points when conquest points give you better gear? I'm just going to replace it very shortly with the better gear. Please blizzard make pvp "Fun" and not boring having to wait for server resets to get the points.

Also while we're on this subject someone on your dev team has screwed things up somewhere. Why is it that atm pvp gear is out dpsing pve gear? Well it has higher item lvl but the game shouldn't be like that. The items for both pvp and pve should have an equal item level and never should pvp gear out dps pve gear in an heroic dungeon or raid. In vanilla or any other expansion I can't remember this happening, please fix it in next patch, come to think of it this may very well be the worst expansion you've ever made in regards to points rewards which is ashame as it's my favourite in regards to other things (Such as heroics being challenging).

@Loudthunder: PvP gear is out Dpsing PvE gear, because they have to be better, since you, most likely, in PvE gear have to take out other players, witch are alot harder than taking out NPCs. Therefor a PvP geared player is out dpsing an PvE geared player.

@Loudthunder: it have been like this before just take wrathful/t10. Wrathful had an item lvl of 270 and the normal gear had 264, while hc had more: 277. So its kinda the same now (except the off set pieces wasnt 270 item lvl). Now its 365 vicious and t11 is 359 normal and 372 heroic. Stil hc gear better item lvl then pvp gear and better dps (not counting in all the resilience wich you get from the pvp gear instead of like hit/expertise/haste/crit etc.)

@Kamelite: From what I know a dedicated PvE player tweaks his gear and reads in depth calculations regarding his chars rotation, stats and so on. If a PvP player is just trying to max his dps, he doesn't know what he's doing tbh.
Not saying anything about the PvE gear and PvP gear. My point is a PvE player is usually better at dpsing than a PvP player if you compare the top cream of both sides. Donotreply@Baduin.com
