The Hand of the Titans is still open to new members! We are a well established guild with wide connections. I’ll start off with a long introduction of our motivations. If you’re just curious about how we’re set up and what you can expect from us, you can just scroll past it.

Introduction:

“The world of Azeroth was shaped, ordered and given life by the mighty Titans. The Makers, united in a Pantheon, each oversaw a part of the creation and protection of our world. When corruption struck our world, they returned once more, defeating the Old Gods, and placing safeguards upon our world, such as the dragonflights and their Aspects, to ensure the safety of this world from corruption. The world has seen its share of hardships. The misuse of magic attracted the Burning Legion to this world, to blame for calamities like the Sundering, the corruption of the orcs and the birth of the Lich King. With the dangers fought on the surface of Azeroth and those coming from Beyond, the threat from underneath is one more easily overlooked.

The invisible influence of the Old Gods has been felt throughout the ages, though the scale of it has made it difficult to oversee. Beings of overwhelming power that the Titans merely managed to contain, they need only to whisper to bring our world to the brink of destruction. They are served by the powerful Elemental Lords, such as Ragnaros, and have spread their influence in the world, corrupting and turning even the world’s guardians against us. The world has yet to realize how close it is to destruction." (WotLK)

How are we set up?
We are a RP guild first and foremost. The order is led by Caerule, supported by a team of Keepers. We have seven bank tabs. Our guild chat is Out Of Character. Officers chat /o is open to all and used as In Character channel. We have 5 different ranks available, and are loosely divided into four factions within the guild, based on the primary expertise of members. We are not a military order, though one faction is set up in that style. We count many groups as allies and try to be an active part of the community. We have reached level 25.

With the corruption and decimation of the dragonflights by influence of the Old Gods, the most famous example being Deathwing, and the safeguards of the Titans failing, the task now falls to the mortal races to step up and take up the role as guardians of the world of Azeroth, the gift of the Titans. As the cult of the Twilight Hammer seeks to undo all of creation, we seek to preserve it.”

What can you expect from our guild?
Out Of Character we are a connected and social group of friends. In Character we are a group united in loyalty, overlapping goals and usefulness to each other. We are a guild dedicated to RP in great varieties of genre, PvE, events, social activities. We are well established with an active player base. We often run old raids, both IC and OOC. When not in RP, we frequently run Heroics as a guild and house a growing group of PvP enthusiasts. We have also taken our first steps into Cataclysm raiding.

Overall, the goal is to provide a good environment for our players; a helpful basis from which to explore the aspects of the game, alone and as a group. While some of our events and storylines are within the guild alone, we strive to be connected with the rest of the server when we can, participating in, and sometimes running, server-wide events.

What sort of members do we seek?
We seek members who would like to RP, be part of an involved group of people and would enjoy the opportunity to be part of a guild such as ours. We’re open to all races and classes, in principle. It’s all about how you handle your character. There are a million reasons why anyone might seek to join a group such as ours. Whether you are a powerful demon hunter, a scholar of history, a concerned guard or magister, or a mercenary looking to make a buck fighting for a good cause, most will find they have goals overlapping with ours, especially in these times of conflict that threatens us all.

Evil characters are allowed within our guild, especially if they are not open with such intentions, but if your usual activities include corrupting citizens in the streets or feasting on the souls of the innocent, our guild is not the place for you. Other than that, adherence to WoW guidelines, RP etiquette and decent grasp of the English language are appreciated. "i c4n haz Gild plox?"-people need not apply. Much knowledge of WoW lore isn't required, as long as you keep in mind that your fellow members and their storylines will involve it to a decent extent. If you would like some aid in working out your character, we would be happy to give you some advice.

“What sort of people do we seek? Ours is a varied group. People from all walks of life may take up our banner and stand by us. Though heroes wielding blades of righteousness are welcome, an assassin or mercenary may be equally motivated to strike a blow to those who seek to undo this world. A shrewd politician or a tailor that enjoys gathering rumors could prove as advantageous to furthering our goals as a powerful mage or an explorer that seeks relics of the Titans. Purity is not a perquisite for joining us, for one cannot change one’s past, just a willingness to stand against those who would spread corruption and destruction.”

How do you join the guild?
We’re selective about who we let into our ranks. We like to be sure that people interested in joining us will fit well with us as people, characters and of course guild aims, as said above many will. In reading this thread you’ve taken the first step. The next step will be to arrange an IC interview. You can whisper Anroka, Gosa, Nlaea or Duskbringer to arrange an interview or encounter, so that we can see if ours is the guild for you. You can also post here if you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. This thread could likely use the bumping anyway.

Heh, Takahashi. There reasons for the largeness of the recruitment post are manifold. Reading our recruitment post is actually also the first test to see if you'd fit in well with us. No one gets in without showing their dedication by reading through it. If it's too long for you to retain interest, then we're likely not the best place for you.

Works out best for everyone. Being in a guild you can't fit in does not benefit you. I do my best to get people to the guilds they fit into, and have in the past often referred players to other good guilds, if would be better suited for another guild then ours. A guild is a team, and while that team should be varied, certain common grounds are required.

Hm... I accidentally posted twice because my internet is silly and my limited knowledge of forum usage does not allow me to delete the second post. So I shall fill it with something else!

Right, time for bumping and updating.

We're level 25 now, and managing HCs well with the guild. There are also many optional old school raids you can sign up for often.

We're finding many elves joining, so it would be great to see more of the other races.

By now we're one of the older surviving guilds. You do need to be aware it is a large group with an active guild chat. People adapt quickly, but it is important to know that you are joining a social and active RP community. We are strong and still expanding.

Just a quick bump and a small note..

I've seen a lot of posts up lately about how roleplay is dying. Not here it isn't.
As of late, we've been doing at least one roleplay and one PvE event per week, often more. Plus the amount of random mini-events and get-togethers we have don't tend to leave people saying they're bored.

And Nightstrife, if anything, you read it too fast. You didn't do more than skim it, when asked you to read it. I like it when people wish to join, of course, but I do think that, if you wish to join a guild, you should at least be willing investigate what it is about. I have to be a little selective about who I let in. I still get a lot of "can i join ur gild?" whispers, and I need to us ways to seperate the suitable from the unsuitable, for the good of the larger majority. It works well for the most part.

We can talk more in game, if you are yet without guild, and believe I judged too quickly, which I may have. We will see.
