Nice to know Gralle :) Though it's just a duct tape fix and look like it works only if you have right kind of duct tape not too old or not too wide :)

At a guess its not a connection or computer issue, but the update itself is simply not available yet, probably need to wait till that's fixed.

Just got it to work. What I did:

1. Exit Battle.net app.

2. Rename “World of Warcraft Beta” folder to “World of Warcraft Beta Copy”.

3. Run Battle.net app.

4. Hit start install on beta.

5. Before it starts installing, I change the language from “English (EU)” to “English (US)”.

6. “World of Warcraft Beta English (US)” starts to install but failed after downloading some files and I get 8A4 error code.

7. Exit Battle.net app.

8. Deleting “World of Warcraft Beta” folder.

9. Renaming “World of Warcraft Beta Copy” folder back to “World of Warcraft Beta”.

10. Run Battle.net app again.

11. It now starts to download with no errors.

That fixed it for me. Thanks!

Same error here, launched from Wow-64.exe also to see if it would push an update after login.. Nope.. it did login though and bring a server list up but just said "incompatible" next to them. :(

So far that seems to work, it is downloading something. Now to hope that that doesn't leave me with a client that is confused about what side of the alantic pond it belongs to ...

This fix only works with an already existing installation of the BETA, correct?

I deleted the BETA earlier today to reinstall it. This fix does nothing for me... :(

This did not work for me :S I followed up every step correctly. At the stage where I select English (US), the message ''We're having a problem blablabla'' still pops up instead of the 8A4 error code. Proceeded with the steps anyway, but I still get the ''We're having a problem blablabla'' message in the end. Playing on Vista here, not sure if it's worth mentioning.

TL;DR: Doesn't work for me:(
