Where the hell is Calia Menethil?
|
That's right. Where is the rightful Queen of Lordaeron, Calia Menethil, sister of Prince Arthas Menethil?
Calia was referenced in Day of the Dragon and Rise of the Lich King, but afterwards she was never heard from again. There are no references to her in game aside from the Dalaran coin. Honestly, where IS she? I can understand Blizzard leaving out characters like Alleria or Turalyon (actually no i can't), but this character is so important to the world. She is the heir to Lordaeron, and I think she should at least be introduced in person in the game. |

"The reaper guard's the darkened gates
That satan calls his home Demons feed the furnace where The dead are free to roam." I feel so sorry for her |

She would be a high priority target for the Scourge so it would make sence for her to be dead.Still, there is some kind of story where a forsaken greets a prisoner along the lines of "Greetings,my princess" so she may be in forsaken custody/a forsaken.
I hope shes dead personally. What,Lordareon is overrun by the scourge and she manages to survive?Meh. |

Barely or not she is canon. And since she is the sister of pretty much one of the most important characters in WoW up until one expansion ago...
WotLK would have been a perfect time to introduce her, but alas. But honestly, she needs to make an appearance. |

The release of the RPG Horde Player's Guide may have shed some new light on this story. In one of many short stories, a paladin by the name of Andarin tries to infiltrate the Undercity to free prisoners. To his shame, he is quickly discovered by a fallen priest named Trevor. The undead makes him 'an offer he can't refuse': in turn for helping Andarin, Andarin must help Trevor free some of the Argent Dawn's prisoners. The paladin ponders the situation but finally agrees, together they descend into the city. After having fought some guards and abominations, the strange duo decides fighting the prison guards will not work and comes up with a plan: Andarin will distract the guards, and Trevor will free the prisoners. Knowing that he has no other choice, the paladin agrees. Trevor quickly manages to get a hold of a keyring and opens the door of a cell in which a girl was locked up. The girl recognizes the Forsaken and is shocked, but Trevor simply bows, saying "Good evening, my princess."
Taken from wowpedia.this could be her but we dont know. Also wotlk would have been a good time for her to appear. But maybe we shall find her in Deathwing's basement and him claiming he loved her sincerely. Or she could be http://www.wowpedia.org/Calia_Hastings |

She certainly has a lot of potential to be an interesting and tragic character, and to be honest we really could do with some strong female leader figures that don't break down into psychotic rages/tears at the drop of a hat.

I really hope she does make an appearce, so the Frosaken can kill and resurrect her and all this moaning about the 'rightful heir' of Lordaeron can finally cease.

I hope she makes an appearance. To be honest, I'm just glad Garona finally showed up. Now let's hope her son doesn't follow...

Considering how badly the comics tanked once he showed up, I'd say we won't be seeing him anytime soon and thank the powers that be for that. As for Calia, I hope she's alive and one day returns as an alliance hero. The alliance could need more of those. :| |

Actually, a good use of the character, irregardless of her origins, (no I'm not letting the Knaak thing go) would for her to already be Forsaken and hiding her identity. If/When Blizzard takes Sylvanas to the extreme where she becomes a complete villian, she steps up as ruler of Lorderon to free the rest of the Forsaken who don't follow Sylvanas. You could have her as almost any female Forsaken and have the current name as an alias. Come to think of it, The Black Bride in Arathi (a hint at her earlier relation with Deathwing?) would be a decent candidate. |

The significance surrounding Calia Menethil is mostly that she is a loose end that hasn't been attended to. Even something as simple as confirmation of her demise would suffice.

F*ck you, we have too many people being raised as Forsaken already. Seriously, let it go. Godfrey has been raised, Trollbane has been raised, who do you want next, Varian?? As for Cailia, I don't really see her significance. Arthas is dead, the Scourge is now led by Bolvar, giving Lordaeron back to the Alliance would be contradictory to the intent for which it was given to the Scourge and the Undead in general. Not to mention it would just be cheap for the story anyway. What's the point of emotional events such as the Fall of Lordaeron if it's just gonna go be fixed in a few moments anyway. Lordaeron has been in Horde hands for years and years now, it wouldn't be fixed "in a few moments". I would love for the Alliance to retake Lordaeron, but we've got no other place to stuff the Forsaken, unfortunately. |

Alterac. Broken kingdom with only bandits as citizens. the harsh cold makes it a bad place for humans, but grand for Forsaken. The mountains would protect them quite well. |
This wasn't a "Go Horde!" suggestion, it was just something I thought would be a good story twist. I honestly don't see any realistic way of writting her into an Alliance plot thread, short of her being with the Twilight Hammer, if that was the case, we know about it by now. |

That sort of implies that the Alliance is capable of taking Lordaeron back, which evidently it is not. They couldn't do it when the Forsaken were nothing more than a tiny squatting band of zombies, sitting alone in a mostly Alliance dominated region, what chance do they have now that said squatters can "procreate" daily in "hundreds"? |
