Where the hell is Calia Menethil?

And being there at the spot of the scene is the only way to know. Thank the gods books do not exist yet.

I don't think Varian would blabber to anyone he encounters about his battle with Onyxia. Such things are usually kept pretty secret.
It's even more unlikely that there were books written about it. |
|
|
It wholly depends on the ruler and Varian is a lot more about acting directly against his enemies than weaving a tangled web of lies to do so. It would very likely be noted in records, and aside of that it was made pretty obvious when Onyxia transformed in his throne room.

I hope that she is shown in the game and has a quest line to her. But not "retake the capital city quest line" but "protect the body of Arthas" quest line. And really the Forsaken number one fuel was too see Arthas dead but why would they be happy with just that? Sylvanes asked Arthas for a clean death but instead he tortured her, dragged out her soul, forced her to help them destroy Silvermoon, tortured her body while this was going on and then she had her body back. So I dont really see why they should be happy with him just being dead when they can capture him, resurrect him, torture him and then let him live in agony and pain as a forsaken for the rest of the .....well as long as the world is still around
|
I was hoping for something like this myself, it felt like Arthas' story ended too abruptly sure I don't want him back but for all we know he's body is still at the top of ICC with the broken pieces of Frostmourne. |
I kinda covered this option already. Likely she'd have been executed by now as no-one noticed she was missing. The Forsaken would simply have lost any reason to kep here alive, unless they considered her their Queen, and even then they'd be more likely to turn her so she could "lead of one of them." Or, she might be "Calia Hastings" who resides in Theramore. Perhaps she went there to bide her time and wait for the moment to reappear. She's not the only one who would do that, because if you remember there is a certain Guardian of Tirisfal who also served as Jaina's chamberlain under a false name. A reasonable enough theory, but it's been done. I guess once more wouldn't hurt but you do risk turning Theramore into a plot device hidy hole. The choice between dead or undead is too black and white, and undead is not an option in whatever the case. Introducing her as a Forsaken would just be another slap in the face for the Alliance, then they might as well not introduce her. I simply stated that they where the most logical. Consider this though, the more adversity a person (or in this case faction) goes through, the more "slaps in the face" they recieve, the more grandiose any victory they achieve seems. The Alliance will have victories, it's ridiculous to assume otherwise, as it increases the tension. So Calia Menthil turns out to be Forsaken, and you treat it as an attack on the Alliance (for some reason, even though she's only a de-facto member and a pointless one currently) it just makes, for example, the reclaimation and restoration of Stromgarde that much more epic. Eventually. That's how I see it anyway. |

The reclamation of Stromgarde? What crack are you on?

Maybe she was taken care of by the Argent whatever they call themselves nowadays. And trained to become a paladin of Tirion himself in the greatest secrecy. I mean it sounds quite credible that she had been locked up for years of the Forsaken. Since rescued by Andarin Lightblade and Trevor. Introduced to Tirion who sees her potential, he wants her to become a priest but her skill makes him change himself and train her in the Paladin way (in secret because it would look bad. "Arthas deja vu" hello).
In addition, it would be frigging epic if Tirion die heroically saving the world and Calia becomes the new bearer of the Ashbringer. |

And then some twit author or comic book writer will turn her into some dependant babymaker for some tough square-jawed male hero as inevitably happens. Yes I'm a cynic. |

You know you can't keep your rotting hands on that city for long, so why the hell do you keep on going through this! Anyway, I think its a pain in the arse with Blizzard using the Valk'yr for Forsaken production, although they should have something planned (I hope)

Alterac. Broken kingdom with only bandits as citizens. the harsh cold makes it a bad place for humans, but grand for Forsaken. The mountains would protect them quite well. actually i never thought of it before BUT, having the horde in alterac could have blizz remake it as a new once again seperate zone. IT as always irkerd me a lone orc tribe could survive practically cut off in alliance dominated areas, though horde and alliance were not in full scale war so i suppose it makes sence. But the forsakern despite being hated by drek'thar would make a great strategic gain, as they are closer to alliance lands, also i feel the threat from the north cannot ever be blood elfs as they are overshadowwed by the forsakern, moving them would bring the blood elfs into the fray having been somewhat neutral. as for the alliance taking undercity back, they assaulted it once already when it was held by forsakern rebles and legions of demons, they seemed to fare pretty well, als o in cataclysm to my dismay the forsakern are show nto be pretty weak soldiers (relatively) in comparison to the humans and worgen. the forsakern seemingly need to use knife in the dark/ tainitng food supplies/ valkryies and blight to win their battles, in pitched battles they get spanked ( i think forsakern players should complain to blizzard about this, makes them look like a 1 trick pony) so i am not sure the forsakern could indeed hold off a alliance invasion, we know varian is planning one and they have still not overran arathi highlands which has been defended by remnants of stromgarde alone. also the valkryies have limited numbers, some have been killed already, many undead fail to be raised/ becomme uncontrollable/ claim they should be dead (starter forsakern quests) etc etc and to make things worse for them, many humans that are still around are taking the worgen curse making them unrezable, and the 7th legion have countered their tactics as they use gnomes, dwarfs, worgen and night elfs to fight in silverpine and gilneas knowing they cannot be rezed. |

I don't really see why you would want to keep a morale boosting victory over a great enemy who's been messing with you for years, a secret anyway. Of course he didn't keep it a secret.

Uhm what about this one.
The Alliance under command of Varian, with Genn, conquer Stromgarde and destroy Hammerfall, the Forsaken as a counter measure take Alterac because it could form a front to protect the Capital City. When Varian tries a push into Lordaeron, aiming for Andorhal, he gets defeated by a Forsaken Army consisting of Val'kyr, Abomitions and Forsaken, and a hooded living women somehow ends up at Varian's side during the battle and suggests he should retreat to Stromgarde and rebuild it(through phasing), and he decides it's for the best then he sends a messenger to make Danath return and he and Danath have a conversation about how Stromgarde will for now, be the only line of defense against the Forsaken War-machine, untill Varian can amass more troops once again for another push into Lordaeron, then the hooded women appears again, she claims to be Queen Calia Menethil, last hier to the Throne of Lordaeron, and she asks the Kings for soldiers so she can conquer lands in Eastern Lordaeron, namely Havenshire and Tyr's Hand, while the Kings are still abit wary, they see no reason to not try and claim land in Eastern Lordaeron, but as the soldiers land on the coast of Havenshire they to there horror find a Forsaken Army marching towards them, and with the Light at there side and Calia's tactical knowledge they where able to beat the Forsaken back, whom conquer Darrowshire and built a Fortress and wall all the way to the Marris stead. I know, I know, wall of text, but what would you think? Calia could rule Tyr's Hand and Havenshire and the Forsaken could build two small cities on Marris Stead and Darrowshire. So the Alliance could have: Stromgarde, under King Danath Trollbane (wich will ofc stand in the Keep and hand out a few Q's for the zone). Tyr's Hand, Havenshire, under Queen Calia Menethil (wich will stand in the rebuild Havenshire Keep, handing out Quests against the Scourge and Forsaken, also a daily where you get the resources to build a tomb for Arthas and Terenas, and in later patches there be a tomb added). The Forsaken could get: Alterac Keep, under the original King wich got killed and raised he rebuilded his Kingdom in the same style as it was before it's fall, but this time he uses black as the color for his roofs, and the Forsaken flag to show his allegiance. he hands out some more Q's for Hillsbrad etcl. Darrowshire, under a commander of Sylvanas, he/she had the city rebuild in Forsaken architecture and he leads the Forsaken defense against the Human intrusion, they also fight the Scourge, Trolls and grave robbers of the area. Sorry, I let myself go :s That said I'd love Calia to conquer an small bit of Lordaeron /even if it's only a small bitof Havenshire/ for the Alliance D:/\ |

the thing is I love where Blizzard are taking Warcraft, they changed the whole world with a event and destroyed it all.
If Calia does come back and tries to take back her kingdom whats to stop blizzard from removing the Forsaken from Lordaeron and giving them somewhere else. Cataclysm was bascially the downfall fo the alliance. We have lost alot in this expansion strongholds, bases and holdings as well as cities. I was due as we held vanilla and TBC prety well. Funny thng is everything went downhill since Varian got back on the throne. Anyway back on topic as for Calia, I am sure the world thinks shes dead, but whether she is or not still remains to been seen. I am sure the Q&A pannel mentioned about a possibility to bringing her back when the "timing is right" :) But until then its pretty awesome to speculate :D |
