Hello fellow druids,

I wanna make a druid really bad but im stuck on choosing a tauren druid or a night elf druid cause i love the lore.
Which one looks more cooler(form and normal form)?

I'd go with a troll or a worgen. :) Though I really like the Tauren cat form... I just can't handle being a cow.

I read on Ej that based on racials/base stats whatever that NE is currently standing strongest of all the druids for tanking. Its supposed to be Nightelf > tauren > Worgen > Troll. Troll si meant to be pretty far behind.

Tauren rocks, For the Horde!

For dps, it is probably troll and worgen that lead the pack. Tauren and NE racials offer no dps benefit. (For feral PvP, NEs are most likely best.)

Shadowmeld / Flightform is a lifesaver out while questing and ##*#

I'd say a Night Elf if you plan on tanking, that 2% extra dodge chance is pretty large, consider Shadowmeld a bonus really.

With tanking aside, just go with whatever race whos forms you prefer to look at.

At the end of the day I find it's best to go with whatever you find most attractive aesthetically, as opposed to the minor differences that racials give. Saying that though, I do miss shadowmeld on my rogue after race-changing to a Goblin.

Tauren! Warstomp now works in moonkin form also!

As you said that because of the lore you are choosing between Tauren and NElf...

NElf has better racials and stats. Also get to see Mal fairly early on. Cat form for NElf does look a bit pansy however, definately a bit feminine :)

Tauren have warstomp but this cannot be used in feral form. However it does look badass.

Off topic a bit; but old Tauren cat forms were amazing!

It all boils down to personal preference.

yeah in terms of racials and appearance i would have to go with Taurens as shadow meld is basically a worse version of prowl and imo a waste of a racial altogether (a shame as in warcraft III it was quite usefull), gear on looks nicer and also Tauren don't walk retardedly ;)

also really depends on your preference, if you have been a Horde character then chances are you will want to stay one

I shall summarise for you.

Feral -
PvE: Troll/Worgen
PvP: Tauren/Nightelf

Balance -
PvE: Troll/Worgen
PvP: Troll/Nightelf (May also be Tauren or Worgen for the minisprint, but a 3 minute CD for 20% Haste is WAY to good to pass up when nuking down a target. - Between Nelf/Worgen its dependant if you want a mini-vanish or a 2 second stun to throw up a cyclone etcetc - both are gamechangers.)

Restoration -
PvE: Troll/Worgen
PvP: Tauren/Nightelf - Mainly because as a resto druid, you're going to be trained hard. theres no way to escape this, but you can lessen it with some racial defensives. shadowmelding CC, warstomping to get a clutch heal off and whatnot.

But this is just opinion - You should pick whats asthetically pleasing to you, because at the end of the day you'll be the one staring at your Tauren or Nelf day in day out.
