Vanilla Servers?
|
I was discussing with some friends and we came up with idea of Vanilla servers (just like tournament) because i'd love to play Pre-bc but its almost inpossible now and i we think that Blizzard should make servers like this, so we can play Original WoW again (with nerfed Rogues) :D. I just thought to ask that who else would want servers like this?

this has been suggested over nine thousand times in the past, and the answer was always that it's not going to happen.

You want Gothdamn vanilla ?!
Here is vanilla ! You and a friend stand on an island in the midst of a lake of acid. Both of you are wearing jeans and a sweater. To the west lies a twig, to the south you notice a rabid bear. What do you want to do next ? |

I tried to post something... but damn...just soooooooo getting tired of posts like this...
Its been asked for 3 years now... at least 2 topics per week, hell WotLK had happy hours for this kinda stuff... Dont get me wrong... i always supported vanilla servers, but come on.. 3 years of no's and reasonable explanations should be enough to even change the universe's thingy and make topics like this un-make-able. |

I can't see why anyone would want to play that premature crap.

vanilla was a sandbox, your characters had a box of abilities that were mostly designed for pvp. pve was just thrown at you, you had to figure it out and there was always more than one way to victory. a raid of 40 people was just an amazing thing to experience. these are the positive aspects, sandbox feeling, huge groups. the negative aspects are not very accesible content, staggering imbalance, much more grinding required, everything took more time but was not more fun, you had to find the fun, it wasn't showing up on its own. you could argue the game has been streamlined, and you are probably right, but blizz has removed everything pointless and dull and buffed everything that people liked. the game has grown so much, it is stunning to think about the path behind us. do not fool yourself, the game was not better back then. it was just... you can only do something for the first time once. world pvp is my personal favorite fond memory of vanilla. piles of bones in southshore and tarrens mill = love. but even that, chaos and overwhelming by sheer numbers, is ultimately inferior to battlegrounds and arena. i have so much nostalgia, i would love to experience everything anew once more. but i would probably say "what the crap, give back cata NOW" after less than a day. |

WOW was designed around PVE not PVP.
I see a lot of stuff about the lack of World PVP, but isn't that just because the PLAYERS themselves stopped fighting each others around Southshore and The X-roads ? I mean, no one is stopping you from having a go at it. |

my tip... you and your friend now sit down over the weekend and try to figure out how this would be done... and how to make it financially sound,, then send that to blizzard and hope for the best. |
