I was wondering if Dark Simulacrum ( [spell="77608" /] ) could be used in a duel with say a Warlock to be able to summon a succubus just before a boss?

Why settle for a Succubbus, might aswell get another Felguard ;P

All effects gained from Dark Simulacrum last a maximum of 1 minute.

And you can no longer copy the Warlock perm pets.

You can copy the guardians though.

If you can arrange for you both to be outside to duel then get summoned in and pull the boss right away, it might be worth the marginal boost it gives.

But most likely this will never be a worthwhile tactic.

Bumped into a ret Pally in a random BG yesterday, stole his wings and proceeded to beat the crap out of him, then stole his freedom and at a later meeting in the same BG, stole his bubble! :'D

Stealing Ring of Frost and Howl of Terror is also f*cking amazing!

Yea i love the consept of it myself, tho there is a thing i wonder.. since
its considered a spell, do i have to rely on 18% spell hitrating? Suppose thats obvious tho...

In PvP the required hit chance is much lower.

pvp hit rating is 6% for spells

DS cant be 'holded' more then few seconds , and all effects lasts max 1 min (more like 5-10 sec from my experience)


its fun ability, fun like hell, but completly useless in pve , or BG (too unpredictible and easy to counter)

Wont say its completely useless, i have stolen spells doing 23-40k dmg, and for 20 runic thats nice.

yeah, its cd inserted in yours cobo , with noi guarantee it will steal anything , short cd on target (pve wise) and some spells doing less then 100 damage

in pve , its noobgrinder .... noobs dont check debuffs, they just push buttons like crazy

any thinking caster will give you for that debuff icelance or water breathing .. or just root you to the ground and do /dance /lol / kiss before nuking you to death

Useless in PvE and PvP. Unless you're some sort of skill-capped legendary hero player who is playing every other aspect of the game to perfection, or extremely lucky, and on top of that you're opponent in PvP is completely a waste of space in terms of competitive PvP, it's useless.

You can't steal any of the truly amazing spells in raids. Half of them has to be interrupted as well.

The fact that DaS leaves an easy noteable debuff on the target, makes the spell nearly useless in PvP.

It's true, it's been absolutely useless in Arena since above 2.3k MMR, anybody you Dark Sim will just ice lance you. Not that I'm suggesting pretty much every team above 2.5k MMR has a Frost Mage in it, and that they are disgustingly overpowered at the moment; with the ability to completely lock out an entire team on their own and pump out insane burst. What makes you think I'm implying that?

It might be usefull for pvp. But for pve its just, useless.

At best you can get a DS on a caster mob and throw a slightly harder hitting ability then Deathcoil around. Ive also had a 93k Holy Fire DS but this is something with a 8sec cast time and obviously suppose to interupt.

But thats only for mobs that have a baseline dmg on their spells and not scaling with their natural spellpower. Some mobs do and then you just return a 12k Lightningbolt with a whooping 181 lightningbolt CRIT.

and as soon an ability is slightly interesting, cool or good blizzard has made damn sure DS will not work. In essence its a grossly inferior Spellreflect with a much larger cd and you still get your face plowed by whatever is being thrown at you.

In PVE it's far from useless, but it's also even further from an all situations ability.
Several bosses and trash mobs in heroics have stealable spells that hit for 15k easily, or CC, heal and other interesting effects, you just have to find them out, or hope someone will make a list (like with mages spellsteal)

Useless? I can steal drain life from the mobs in SFK heroic, and holy fire from the mobs in DM, i was shooting 135k holy fires, i was oneshoting mobs, useless you say? no way in hell!
