Shandalar, a "clan" of Night Elves

Hello!
During my questing on this character, I ended up in Crystalsong Forest. In this zone, there is a "city" now called The Ruins of Shandaral. I were wondering if anyone know something about them? Or heard anything about them? I found them interesting, and I'd appreciate some information on them, so I can start RPing one. I think Shandalar was a city, and those "Shandaral elves" are just regular elves. Well, as far as being haunting poltergeists goes as normal. They always name such units after the subzone they're at, or something else as not every human warrior npc in the game can be a Human Warrior, at the risk of being too bland. They are elves that lived in the city of Shandaral so they're called Shandaral <whatever.> But I think they all died when the city was ruined during the Sundering over ten thousand years ago, so I wouldn't go about roleplaying them.
