Sorry, It's a joke.
It really is. A frostmage doing 80k damage in 3 seconds, sure okay a burst attack from a dpser.... alittle over the top? i dont know. But the fact is you can survive better than any other class, you got so much controll over players thats its sad with frost nova, ring of frost, polymorph and impact stun its really sad. There needs to be some serious balancing tweaking for Frost Mages cause this is beyond redicolous. And no, reducing the duration of Frost Nova will not solve much, Removing spellsteal however is a step at the right direction, It however will not be enough. Sorry but its beyond redicolous. |

Ok, so after trying out a bit of Cata with my mage I decided to focus on pvp a bit more on this expansion than the last - only bgs so far, no arena. At first I was quite sad when I heard that the frost mage was OP and need nerfing, mostly because I didn't feel the same way and thought blizz was going to feel the pressure of so many people saying this to finaly nerf it even more, making it possibly the worst class for pvp.
However, and I must admit I hadn't pvped reguraly since TBC, after getting a hand back at the controls and gearing up a bit I have to admit... I can kill many many many people! My only fear now is that, with so much talk arround the frost mage and little on other classes (check the poll on the mmochampion forum for example), the mage such a revamp that it will be useless in pvp. As for the possible changes addressed in blue posts: Reduce duration on frost nova: although it may seem minor to some, I think this one is the best change to even out things, why? well make a mage use frost nova and see if you yourself need your enemies to stand still for so long? Well it would be better but you don't actualy NEED. Reduce duration on ring of frost: now being a mage doesn't mean you don't play agains other mages and as such I have fallen to the curse of haveing to stand still for the full duration of RoF. Just pop you CDs, if you can't then enjoy the wait. I really don't see why this one should be nerfed, I mean it doesn't cause me much of a problem when other mages do it to me and other classes have similar spells - Intimidating Shout for example - I just see people not used to this because it's not "fear" -.- This shouldn't be changed in my opinion. Spellsteal: haven't seen details on how it could be changed, but I don't think this would even things out TBH, it's not what's making the frost mage OP. I think spells should be left has they are with the exception of the forst nova duration and instead nerf the frost talent tree. Decrease the amount of dmg/crit from there. I can see that this way the mage would still survive but fights would last longer so the other dude would have a chance at the mage. EDIT: I forgot something. So, blizzard when I see "PVE: Fire and Frost mage damage might be too low, but we’re still watching them." I have to emote ./cry Once and for all stop trying to make both trees work in pve and pvp. Leave one for each and that way you don't have problems decreasing the frost dmg for pvp - it's boring in pve anyway! Win win win! As for the fire for pve... yes an increase would be a nice x-mas gift ;) |

You can't outheal ~2k DPS? I feel sorry for you.
Freezes all have a CD of over 20 seconds bar imp. CoC which requires melee range and in fact 3 of our freezes are melee range only. What's the CD of your dispel again and what range does it have? There are 4 freezes available. And be glad we don't have Frostbite anymore. Or WC which acted as 5 debuff dispellprotection. |

I think mages need more cc and damage on ice lance. They are kinda underpowered atm.

So the damage isnt troubling anymore, just the control. But you want to take that away too. Ice Lance does pitiful damage without th target being frozen. My on demand AoE Freezes are 3. Ele Nova which is the only ranged one and got a 25 second CD. Imp. CoC which lasts 4 seconds only and needs nearly melee range and has a 10/8 second CD FN wich lasts 8 seconds and needs melee range and has a 25/21 secod CD SB isn't an on demand ability and lasts 4 seconds and on a 30/2 second CD. So bar CoC which spell is on a really short CD and noticably shorter than your Trap CDs? Noit to mention that you can have You fail to mention that your Frost Trap while being on a 30 second CD also completely prohibit someone of any action while roots hinder movement only but you can use your abilities to full effect. You also fail to mention CC like Scatter Shot being made base line it was original a deep MM talent. Depending on your specc you can have some extra CC like Silence Shot or Intimidation or Wyvern Shot which are all instant by theway and all bar Scatter Shot got a long range. You also leave outyour pet abilites and some have some decent CC on their own. The monkey seems to become rather popular nowadays. Still I do know that Hunters are not good in PvP atm and need buffs. But I intensly dislike hyperboles. |

Meh. One of the worst troll attempts ever. Still plenty of ppl to write about it.
After the comercials we'll be back with the following: A use of capital letters, bolded text and huge use of exclamation marks, perfectly molded together in a chaotic response to how mages are ''not cool dewd''. After that the high council of mages pops up and starts defending what seeems to be the most underpowered class spec in the game. A game of ''say the most complicated word'' breaks out. Suddenly everyone starts pulling numbers and facts out of a certain place and all thats left is the huge kill count after a frostmage's morning stretching excercise. Will mages crumble under the pressure and admit their conjure refreshments spell is OP, will haters get a really nasty headache and call it a day, will any of this really matter? Read on and find out.... or don't read and retain you mentally stable state of mind. oh yeah ''=)'' |

I don't know, mages aren't that retarded as everybody claims they are. They do much less damage in a DF than they used to(compared to health pools, that is).
