Lilian Voss

We need a continuation of the story surrounding Lilian Voss and her absolutely awesome powers. For those of you unfamiliar with this NPC she is a part of some of the the 1-10ish quests in Tirisfal Glades. She was a highly trained assassin for the Scarlet Crusade before she was killed and brought back as an undead. She is a bit different from most undead with her blue glowing eyes and amazingly powerful ability.
After playing through all the quests involving this character I was left with a lot of questions which I hope will be answered in future patches because this is character is awesome. Which side is she on? Good or evil? She seems to tolerate you and she kills a lot of Scarlet Crusade NPCs which is always good, but is she maybe a bit too fond of killing? Will she ever meet with any of the heavy hitters like Sylvanas, Garrosh or Thrall? What exactly is her mysterious ability which engulf herself and her victims in purple flames? Exactly how powerful is her ability compared to the powers of characters like Thrall and Sylvanas? PS: Lilian Voss gets my vote as the next leader of the Forsaken after Sylvanas turns really evil and we are forced to kill her over and over for loot :) |

According to her, she got her powers by "training a lot". Incidently, this statement was what turned her story from "decent" to "lame" for me.
It's not that she couldn't be good, really. It's just that she's far too much of a godmode sue for my rather refined tastes. If you don't know what a godmode sue is: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GodModeSue |

Lilian Voss is just as evil as Sylvanas :)
Anyway; You can see dead Scarlet Crusade people at Western or Eastern Plaguelands, if I'm not wrong. Lying on the ground with that shadowy effect they get after she kills them. |

The place of the undead is in the grave.
Thus, all undead and this includes Sylvanas and Voss should be eliminated so Lordaeron can effectively free itself from the plague. However these rotting idiots think they have a culture, eh? They are building cities and mansions and even have books. Oh my God. They should have better built a nice looking grave. |

What Ehi said.I hope she is forgotten along with Me'dan.

Well, if you want to put them back to sleep, theres only one way to do it. but most people of azeroth seem to be too busy with other stuff to take care of the forsaken, which is a terrible mistake.
Anyhoo, lilian voss seems to be a reference to Lilian Vess from Magic: the gathering, which kind of ruins her possibility to become a valid forsaken soldier. but i dont know. i also agree with Ehi and Vercetti. (but i don't agree with having med'an forgotten, i'm still waiting for his ingame debut) :) |

I'd honestly consider quitting if Lillian Voss replaced Sylvanas as the leader of the Forsaken. A cheap copy and paste of Lillian Vess (look her up if you don't know who she is) would not do the Forsaken any justice.

Do Lillian Voss even show any leadership qualities at all beside being a mass murdering henchman?
|
Nah, she's just another 'WOE IS ME, WHY DO PEOPLE HATE A ROTTING, STAGNANT CORPSE???' then five minutes later: 'HAHA ALL WILL DIE AND SUFFER!!!!' I hate her. |

I like her.

so what would have been better? cursed? possessed by a demon? |
|
|
Didn't her father but a bounty on her head which caused a change of heart? |
|
Shes not very cool or awesome, but she is one of the first influential character for Cataclysm undea. I would love to see her story continue.
But she better get more awesome and stop running away from you all the friggin time. I like her sitting-on-your-head-and-eating-your-face-move. |

According to her, she got her powers by "training a lot". Incidently, this statement was what turned her story from "decent" to "lame" for me.so what would have been better? cursed? possessed by a demon? Plenty options: 1. Limit her to being an assassin (basically rogue, for those who can't think beyond the ingame classes), as opposed to a mix of every single class in the game and some that aren't in the game. 2. Cursed/possessed are both explanations that could work. As an added bonus, they could be used to flesh out her personality with "the demon is in control" moments, a generally screwed up mind (fits forsaken like a glove, tbh) and/or abilities that fluctuate depending on how much her "inner demon" agrees with what she does (meaning - if she's trying to avoid combat, or only fights "bad guys", she's basically powerless. But if she's burning down a village full of innocents, she's on the level of... well... her currect incarnation, I guess :p) 3. Simple scale down. I get that she could be "trained", and that would make her dangerous, but it shouldn't make her a god of war... She's a teenager for light's sake! There's no way her current story can cover up for her taking down small armies on her own! This option might be the best, if fact, since it would remove a lot of the god mode from her suiness. 4. Nonhuman? She can walk through walls, become invisible, make people erupt in purple flame and (from what I could see of her final quest) fly - And she was raised in a land infused with the raw power of the dead, under which sleeps a god of insanity. Could there be a connection? Yes, there could. Sadly, that option was ignored. Possibly my least favoured option, since it still doesn't give her much of a personality. These are just three different approaches, all of which would be improvements on the story, and I'm certain I could come up with more and/or refine these ones if only I could be arsed to put more time into it. EDIT @Reagan: Plenty of other characters could be used for the forsaken. I seem to remember this guy named "Barthalomew the Revered" or some such. We've also got those other guys who showed up in the very first quest. The big guy was funny to quest with, and Redpath could've been an interesting adversary if they hadn't insisted on throwing him away so soon. Other than that, they could "invent" some new characters - ranging from zealous followers of Sylvanas, to members of the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow, to folks actually opposing Sylvanas's rule.... I could picture a "former paladin" type of character, who retains his courage, righteousness and valour, but can no longer channel the holy light. In short: there's plenty of options :) |

3. Read Berserk? 4. OK walking through walls is a bit over the line, invisible is nothing new and purple flame could be a new form of magic |
|
|
No, I have not read Berserk, but I recon I'll give it a try some day.

Well if "training so much that I can take down a small army" is bothering you here then it will bother you a lot more in Berserk |

4. OK walking through walls is a bit over the line, invisible is nothing new and purple flame could be a new form of magicBut how did she learn this magic?Sure, she was trained most of her life in the art of destroying the undead, but thats using light magic and a bit of warrior skills no?Not freaking "IMMAH FIRIN MAH SHADOW LAZOR!" and superhuman assassin jumping on peoples shoulders from metres away and doing whatever she does. Atleast Me'dan has to briefly train when he was learning a new type of magic. |
