Q:What exactly is level 70 twinking and why would anyone do that now that you can get 85?

A:Level 70 twinking is simply locking your character's exp at level 70 (or playing on a TBC account). Whetever you decide to do PVE or PVP content is up to you, but as we speak PVP and the fact that you can do rated arena at level 70 is a big factor and reason people decide to twink at level 70 and I am mainly going to be talking about the PVP side of things as far as this guide is concerned

Q: What are the BG/arena ques at 70 once the exp is locked, don't you run into the same people over and over?

A: The random BG que once you lock your experience is average 10 minutes, it might be worse during the early morning, but I havent checked it out. However; the BG que is good (2-5 min) for those that havent locked their exp or are sitting on a TBC account.

Arena ques seem to be about the same as level 85, ironicly enough. 3 minutes is probably average, you might have to wait a couple more minutes once you get higher ratings, yes you run into the same people sometimes. but its not like you dont ever get a new team, because there are actually quite some people playing level 70 rated arena. Though I am working on a way to find the actual ladder in the eu.battle.net armory.

Q: So this 70 twinking sounds cool, but what are the rewards? what do you get out of it?

First off, you get the abillity to play your class to its fullest potential before reaching level 85, which can be painful to those who does not like leveling.
Secondly if you decide to do 3v3 or even 5v5 you are competing for glad, just like everyone else is at 85.
You should consider 70 twinking if you find it fun to spend your time playing and having fun, rather than just gearing up and getting ready for content. Like it is right now at 85, it takes longer time to get a full honor set than it takes to level the entire character from 1-85, now this is something that encourges me to leave my alts at 70 and do some PVP and see if I like the class before considering leveling it the last 15 painful levels.


Q: So I decided to give this whole 70 twinking a go, where can I find gear and are there any 70 twinks guild?


A: You can get the brutal gladiator set, aswell as the brutal weapons and wand/relic set at a vendor in Tanaris or Netherstorm. You can however NOT attain the Guardian offpieces, meaning you will have to do some PVE content to get your hands on something suitable for your class.

There are currently no 70 twink guilds on al akir as of yet, but I wouldnt be suprised if some of us decide to create one in the future.



I just thought I would like to make a list of active level 70 twinks on horde side Al'Akir so that we can get an impression on who's playing at this level and also possibly arrange Sunwell and help each other out. Because I have access to two 85's and are gladly helping out people as long as they help me or vice versa.

Its been confirmed that we do not get gladiator titles at 70/80 only 85's gets the honor of wearing Vicious Gladiator Title.

Just thinking about changing on an english-spreaking realm:
How long will i have to wait as alliance? Most posts i found on english lvl70 twinking are written by horde.
And: at the moment, we got a bug (i think it is one) leading to ques with no end, because the tool decides to do av next, but people are missing. What about this? Are the times mentioned above only when its working, or over all?

So, my Warr (which is the 70 im currently active on) is not on that server, but on Dunemaul (aka türkmaul :P) we got Stature of the Gods, which has about 170 members and almost all of them are 70. The ones who aren't MUST be alts (or mains) of the 70s, or else you won't get in. So that's epic at least ;)

We are doing all the 70 raids each week, we are doing rated BG's and arena's all the time, The average que time of a bg is 2-3min max.

We also have a lot of 2k+ rated players, so you always could find your arena partner here, and tips for best setup's and gear, talent tree's
