Community Presence

Here at Vex we've wanted to push a little bit for a better community presence, so we're developing our website to help involve and engage players within the bloodfeather community. Whether you're a member of Vex or not, we want to welcome players to come and join in on the community and take part in the discussion on classes/bosses/raiding etc, basically anything to do with helping players have a better experience raiding.

Along side the discussion's we're going to be releasing class guides, out heroic raid boss tactics & setup's, and general tips and tricks to help people down more bosses successfully!

In other words, you want peons to help you with perks/achievements so you can get access to beneficial unlocks to exploit them in PvE to boost progress? ;):PpPppPpPPPPP

Sounds like an ambitious plan!
Especially seeing that all efforts done by blizzard to do this are.. well.. look at these forums x)


Btw, this goes out to especially Mosphet I guess, great job on the website!
Even the code seems to be hand written! (readable, well spaced/entered source code ftw!)
I can't see any sign of a CMS :| how are you updating it?

Aye, tis hand written from the group up, the story behind the random message with absolutely no interest to the viewers, it was to pad the footer out, just looked really crappy without that text there xD

It is a CMS but its all custom code, I've used many CMS's and I've been doing PHP for almost 9 years now, and when I look at all the CMS that I've used, theres just so many ways they can be improved so I decided to develop my own and thats what this pretty much became. Alot of stuff I still need to finish though (But I can't take credit for all the work, I have minimal knowledge on jQuery so Edra also helped me out there and a few other features he'll be putting into place)

In response to the feedback with the design and how I update the content, well tbh, if you saw the admin page, you'd pretty much be looking at something similar to my @r$e. It's nothing that looks good, its white page with blue links/boxes all over. Will be the last thing I style up I guess.

Main reason we started the community was none of us feel like posting here because there is never any moderation at all on there forums, and its sometimes like posting a childrens forum. So we wanted to see if we could actually get some nice communities on bloodfeather to maybe bring the realm up a bit.

Eehhh?

I will probably post this on your forum to begin "filling up",
but I miss the simple buttons to insert UBB code into the forum message.

It's also called MCE, and there are Jquery plugins for it.
I have about 5 years PHP experience and 1 Jquery/javascript,
also worked as a junior web developer for a while.
Got booted 'cause of economic problems /cry

They shut down the whole web development part of the company,
so me + senior were *%*!d. It hurts man.

It was a side job so, I can still eat dinner and play WoW ^^

Damn, didn't end well then I guess, but developing can have its + side in the $$$.

Believe TinyMCE is something along the lings of what you're refering too. Gonna try making a custom one there as well, for WoW specific needs ;p

But it honours me that of the 519 guilds that are as horrible as us on 1/13 hc, that you chose us. Thank you so much for the much needed attention.
