Pretty sure it's the Black Qiraji Battletank. Only seen it once on our server, and I've seen quite a few Plagued/Black Proto Drakes. I think the Onyxian drake is probably one of the rarest, if not the rarest flying mount.

I've seen two Black Qiraji Battletanks ever- one in arena, and one guy in my guild who's gotten it.
I've seen one Onyxian Drake. Ashes of Al'ar is almost common; 6 or 7 people on my server who I see semi-regularly. I've only seen one Blazing Hippogryph, and it looks awesome. I've seen no mottled drakes and no White Wooly Rhinos. Phosporesant Stone Drake is also fairly rare, but as more becomes known about its origins the more common they'll become. So probably the newer TGC mounts- Spectral Tiger is fairly uncommon, but the new ones are very illusive. I wouldn't really consider anything that drops these days as rare, as usually you'll see a fair amount on them. |

The black Quirahi res crystal is the rarest, given only during the AQ 40 man opening. Their was a 10 hour window for any who had scepters (no easy feat by any means) Impossible to get now. Yeah, without a doubt it is the Black Qiaraji Battletank.
Even allowing for the people who changed server to get it, and those who obtained it via the "bug", it is still easily the rarest mount in WoW. I personally have only ever seen 1 and I have been on 3 servers, play on average around 8 hours per day and have played for around 2 years. So that tells you just how rare that mount is. It is also the only mount that is classed as "Legendary". For ground coolness now though, nothing currently available beats the Aquamarine version imo available as a rare from Uldum Archaeology. Other than myself, I have only seen 1 other person riding one. |

I'd say. The Time-Lost Proto-Drake is also pretty rare, but I doubt it's more rare than the Ashes :) |

It goes by default to the
 Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal Because ONLY 1 can be aquired for each realm. All other mounts are just rare drops, but multiple can be aquired.
