[Kaldorei RP] The Teahouse

Elves live in communities, or at least they used to. They care about each other, or pretend to. It must be hard for a human to comprehend the nature of their lives. They have been living for centuries with mostly, if not only, those whom they know well. The elves know many friends and family and they know them through and through. It is quite common that children are raised by the people in the village as much as their parents.
Yet their world has been invaded and shattered. For a very long time Andureth`s contribution to the community was to ensure accommodation for travelers. This he did freely. One day, the demons came. He was no warrior, so he fled. Now the druids and woodbenders have managed to “build” a new place where he could be. Here he tries to ensure that the visitors and the refugees can have some shelter and something to eat. Actually not just something. Most of his dishes are crafted with a craftsmanship unfathomable to short lived races. If only he could get some good ingredients. Getting those is not only a question of whether there is something which can be eaten in the wilds. For the kal`dorei, it is also a question of if, one can eat it without upsetting the balance --- OOC. Alright, it is time to take this to the next level. About two, three months ago Sveraes/Deliaris and Isance/Khazdin got together to discuss the idea of creating an RP hub for Kal`dorei. In Kalimdor. To give elves a chance to RP as true night elves outside stormwind. Every forthnight we gather to discuss current events. The concept is a consideration of how a Kaldorei inn would work. Full description is also found on the wiki. http://scarteleu.wikia.com/wiki/The_Teahouse It is open for everyone, but insist that people would follow this guide, so there is some consistency. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/917101950 If you want to come you have to /join KaldoreiRP this is the OOC channel we'll be using. By the way, as there is an ooc-channel, you will use that for OOC and not Elune forsaken brackets. I'd like to stress this here: I'm not going to have stories prepared for whole evening, nor is only me talkin. There should be plenty of things to bash each other about. For example: Some may guests maybe more pro highborn, while others just want to kill them on sight. In the teahouse they meet to discuss and try to convince the other side. The innkeeper and I will have a tale or something prepared like previous time. If others has tales to bring it would help keep things alive. The story can be a storyline that your character has been in. Or it can be an ancient tale of how the universe was ordered by Elune. Like how the owl lost its voice, those kind of stories. It can even be a prayer for Elune/Malorne. If anyone is interested in assisting with hosting the event. It would also be very much appreciated, would be great if I could bring Deliaris Shadowwind there sometimes. It is known that most of the RP on Kalimdor takes place in guilds, but most of us do also invite people outside to join in on events. This is therefore a great chance to mingle, and join in on various stories. Next opening is planned to be the 2nd of februari. The 2nd of October is quite a long while away, are you sure that is the right date?
That aside, thank you very much. I'd seen this mentioned before but had been unable to recall the exact name. I guess I shall be working on my night elf this weekend. |

I remember beeing corrected on that so many times when i've been on my Nelf. |

Oh.. Nuts and berries! I meant februari, really! Isn't it just called Kaldorei? Honestly, I have no idea, I thought it was Kal`dorei, just like Sin`dorei... ...Then again, I am a mere Human IC. I`m allowed (or expected -.-) to make stupid mistakes like that. Thumbs up for this initiative! It is. Due to Sin'dorei and Quel'dorei, people often have a tendency to type Kal'dorei. |

Aldrannath doesn't really understand what socialising is for, but I'll hopefully be there on an alt. I'm looking forward to hearing what characters say about the Way when Aldrannath isn't there rumbling at them. ;-)

The Teahouse IS going to go ahead this evening, at the right time. The place will be revealed on the OOC channel. There is a slight chance I won`t be able to make it, but Alrundath can run the Teahouse so much better :) Besides, my presence shouldn`t be mandatory for you all to meet, drink some very nice tea and have a great evening :)

Had one case with some Worgen when we were hosting it in Darkshore and it just ended in people talking (( )) all the time to explain what was going on lorewise. Not so fun. So while at the teahouse, we'd like to follow the major guide. It makes RP far easier to get a long. One of the things I've been doing is experimenting with: How that whole whisps gather resources, and the night elves use them. Andureth didn't really understand why that one human was there, maybe Isance? Why so interested in getting the last dreg of the "tea" and taking it with him in a skin. *shakes his head* The sabers would have had it otherwise, but still. |

Indeedie! Tomorrow is another installment of the Teahouse! We`ll talk recent events, and especially about ... ..The Highbourne... They claim to be helping the Kaldorei fight a common enemy. But wasn`t it the Highbourne that brought Demons to Azeroth? Aren`t they responsible for the slaughter of millions of Elves, leaving their own race a shadow of their former glory? What is to prevent them from getting addicted to the magic they so carelessly wield? How to prevent those darned mages from over-reaching again? Then again, so far they are pulling their weight in the war against the Orcish agression. And not all Highbourne were power-hungry, demon-worshipping forces of destruction. Not all approved of Queen Azshara`s plans for dominion. Can these Highbourne be them? Or their children? In other words: Are the Highbourne a boon to the Kaldorei, or a danger to the whole world? Yessir, the kind Elves at The Cenarion Guardians gave Sveraes and me the idea to discuss lore things in the Teahouse. So we are going to try that. See if people like discussing about the fundamental shifts in Kaldorei society. |

Anyways, here is a little tale I wrote up for the last event. Keep in mind it is only a tale, which has been passed on many times. I will tell a story of the highborns folly. Of the soulmage, Varixa and her mate, thalexras. What is a soulmage. Pah, how can you not know, no wonder we are happily hugging magi, yet, again. Even with their long, if not infinite lifespan. They were still not content, they wanted more. They wanted more than their wild parties and even more pride. In their search for excitement and power, they toyed with death itself. Yes, they were the first necromancers. But they were not of the scourge, their plan was not to raise people into undeath. They sought to control the very fabric between life and death. To visit what comes after, ultimately usurpering Elune Herself. Some of their magical text may still be around, prey that they are not in the hands of the wicked. Their magic was the blackest, it was a twisted side of the arcane, powered by souls. Yes, sacrifices. Tearing the souls of the innocent, the guilty and even their in order to empower their spells. Yet their magic was also that of a priestess, of Elune, perverted. As the war of the ancients came, it was clear to them that simple immortality from old age wasn't enough, and they sought to be immortal not only through infinite lifespan and ever good health. No they sought absolute immortality. To be able to return to life even after being killed, no matter the method. It was in that chase that thalexras died, yes. In his search he stumbled upon a druidic sect who as initiation ritual drowned themselves, only to have their life restored by Elune Herself. He infiltrated them, seeking to become one of them. Following all their rituals and ways, so that he could die only to be resurrected. For that was the key, the key to the manifestation that mages were making. If only he could draw the magic in his afterlife, he could tie the last parts together. He may even have thought he could tab directly into the power of Elune. The thing the magi had created was a sinister system of crystals, magic upon magic. Giant stones forged from the earth of the Red dragonflights shires. They did not ask. They took. The plan was for their spirits to return to the crystals and their the bodies would be reborn. Yet, it would not work, even with all their magic the spirits would not be properly bound to the stones. They would never be reborn. However even after years of training in the druids ways, month of speaking kind words to Elune. When the ritual commenced the highborn was to drown himself, so that he could be resurrected. When the druids and priests dragged up his body after he had drowned, Elune did not intervene. The body remained dead. Varixa saw it all, wicked cursed ways the highborns had to make eyes where they had none. She screamed, rushing to her mates aid. She slew the druids that was there, with terrible magic. Tearing the souls from their bodies. So she still tried to bring him back, but while she still could force the spirit back into the body. And bind it there. All she got was walking corpse, it was not him. In time it gradually fell apart. |

Just had a great long Teahouse event. With lots of Elves and even some Draenei!
Come one, come all, we`ll be back to serve tea and maybe even cookies thursday the..euhm... 9th? We`ll probably have a long hard talk of Fandral Staghelm, the war of the Ancients and long lost family and loves |

It was really great. I recommend this to all Kaldorei RPers, it really does get you to know how people are around the community.
