World of Warcraft®

A small apology in advance, I just need to let this out.

Is there ANYONE anymore on the Alliance side that would actually
a) know this is a roleplaying realm, and/or
b) know the roleplaying realm ruleset, and/or
c) respect the realm rules?

I'm talking about /say chat, because that's the only general chat I see anymore.
Is it not possible to discuss the raiding progress, the tactics of a heroic or the latest events of the real life in whispers or party chats?

I have honestly lost all energy in trying to whisper and politely tell people this, so I have just simply ignored them. The cities are starting to get quite quiet, hehee.

Is it no longer a desirable, good feature for a well known guild to keep it's members in line with the rules of a realm? Does it not matter what the members do or say, as long as they are good in a raiding team?

I am a frustrated gnome! Or draenei. Whatever.
So don't be surprised if I'm ignoring you. It's because you've been chatting too much OOC stuff in /say.

Where most of Roleplaying crusades fail.

Never understood why so many people speak OOC or in their native languages on /s at most crowded places, especially if it's just 2 people talking to each other.

I find it strange that this seems to be more of a problem on Alliance side than Horde.

Over here I rarely see any OOC. When I'm on my human it tends to be quite often.

Eugh. Hopefully it's been changed by now.
I always try to keep my /s IC unless it's a secluded area with a friend where nobody else is. If it's public, OOC.

Your missing one thing out of "RP" *Space* "Pvp", caters to both interests. You chose to be on this realm for roleplay, and that is in the interest of your own gameplay to do, Others selected to be here to Pvp and Pve. I understand that roleplaying may be part of what you enjoy from WoW's gaming experience, but criticising others gameplay as they are not playing in the specified way you want them to is a little self absorbed, don't you think?

Incorrect Sir, Sporeggar is an RPPVP realm, which is as defined by Wowpedia (the new 'official' website is incomplete and does not yet incorporate the pages defining the specific guidelines for each realm type) as the following:

Generally, an acronym for "Role Playing plus Player vs Player".

A type of Realm in World of Warcraft that combines the RP and PvP rulesets.

This is the new server type (as of 1.8) which combines RP and PvP into one server:

Pay special attention to the wording of the phrase "A type of Realm in World of Warcraft that combines the RP and PvP rulesets."

That's right, RP AND PVP rulesets.

And, as defined by the Oxford English Dictionary is taken to mean the following:

conjunction
1 used to connect words of the same part of speech, clauses, or sentences, that are to be taken jointly:
bread and butter
they can read and write
a hundred and fifty

From that, we can take that an RP-PVP realm is, in fact, both an RP and a PVP realm in conjunction.

Should you still have any doubts about the matter, please consult with your local Game Master.

I swear tho, those boxes just to the right of the AH entrance in SW are like the freakin water-cooler of WoW. Everyone just stands around talking crap in /s

I'm not a RPer (generally, I prefer to write rather than act, doesn't mean I can't) but for god sake, if you can't follow a very very basic set of rules then why are you here?

I'm just waiting for someone to say: 'GTFO to RP server noobs if u want to RP' now. And 7 replies 'But THIS >IS< RP server.'

Personally I don't even bother reporting every name that looks like non - RP one, as I'd probably end with opening tickets first thing in the morning and awaiting response for 90% of my game time. Not to even mention reporting everyone speaking OOC in public chats (Is Trade and General still supposed to be IC?).

The only thing that makes me open a ticket is really offensive name/ behaviour.

I wish there was still RP around, but there just isn't. The few oppertunities I had to 'initiate' IC conversation ingame, quickly boil down to "Sorry, have to go. I was queued for Dungeon Finder". Or something similar. :P

But oh well, I ain't tied down anywhere yet. I'll see what I'll do. xD

I think we should get over this topic though now.

The best RP servers since the start were the fresh servers.

Ravenholdt in its first 1, 1.5 year. Sporeggar in its first year. Those two I've experienced, but from what I've heard it was pretty much the same with all the other servers.

So I'd say, merge the existing RP servers that are low pop so there's actually some people on them and open up a new RP-PVP server, without char migrations in the first 6 months! XD
