Thought I could make a quick-list for basic, useful and good addons for rogues.
These addons will be focused mainly for PvP http://img580.imageshack.us/i/phequi.jpg/ fullsize: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/5638/phequi.jpg IMPORTANT OmniCC Gladius LoseControl SnowfallKeypress Leatrix Latency Fix Useful Poisoner SpellAlerter (I can't get this working correctly atm, don't know why) DeadlyBossMod (even for PvP! queuetimers etc) Interrupted That! DRTracker (might be broken) MoveAnything (great tool to resize focustarget, move default frames etc) Power Auras (announces Unholy Frenzy, Berserker Rage etc) DispelBorder (announces dispellable things like UF, Berserker Rage etc) Rogue Power Bars Capping Battleground Timers (if you do PvE, I suggest using DBM instead.) Quartz (can be configured with Gladius as far as I'm concerned, castbars) Icicle (shows enemycooldowns on their nameplates, i.e counterspell) SliceCommander (warning when enemyhealth is >35% for mutilate, and other similar things) Looks/Graphical SexyMap (simple square) Prat 3.0 Bartender4 (if you're not happy with default UI) AtlasLoot TidyPlates Milkie SCT (scrolling combat text) - filter certain information, fonts etc. Pitbull (unit frames, highly configureable) HideBlizzard Throw in other addons that you'd like to see on the list (xpearl won't be added, ever). Remember that this list is supposed to contain rather SIMPLE and CLEAN/EASILY adjustable addons for a smoother game-play, especially for people who'd rather not spend too much time configuring addons etc. (i.e, why I won't list X-pearl, because #1 it ruins your framerate, it basically takes a huge dump on it, and #2 distracting animations that won't improve your gameplay etc) |

I have to disagree there DBM is horrible for PvP, since the timers are wrong sometimes and they disappear at random moments. There is another addon called "capping" that functions as a great replacement for DBM Although I can understand a PvE player would prefer using DBM, so he doesn't have to switch off/on addons all the time Furthermore it looks very useful There is one in that list that didn't work before, but since I see you listed it I'll download it again Thanks ;) Edit: I forgot one addon. I like to use Grid both for PvP and PvE, because it's so easy to keep track of everyone without requiring a big frame. |

I'd be happy if you point out which addon it is, and also, DBM timers dissapear sometimes, yes, but rarely, and if the timer is a bit off, it's not by much. Most important thing is shadow-sight anyways. Let's make a more useful list people, gogo.

which addon that doesn't work*
you can use spellalerter for that too, (i.e sound/msg when warrior pops x ability, dk goes lichborne etc) |

Elkano's Buff Bars - less squinting at animations / tiny debuff icons / counting in your head = good, also stops you from trying to get a Vanish sap on a warrior if he's set at your focus and you see Berseker Rage, etc
Pitbull - if only for the ridiculously better combo point display. Alternatively, TidyPlates, where CP show up on the nameplates. Diminishing Returns - for outside Arena, with no Gladius MSBT - to track interrupts, very nice to know whether you actually interrupted or got juked, to see enemy PvP trinket usage, and most of all to filter out all the damage notifications so you can just see the important stuff like dodges / misses / parries Quartz - bigger cast bars = easier not to get juked in my experience, whether you try and get the interrupt as late as possible or notice the bar earlier and get a clutch interrupt before they cancel, works both ways. SpellAlerter is terribad, it gives erroneous information based on whom the caster is targetting, and if he uses macros to cast @arena1, @focus, etc, it's just wrong. Just make the cast bars in Gladius huge and you won't miss CC, imo. I do recommend Afflicted, it takes a bit of tweaking but once you have it working you can know exactly when their CC is available, when they're going to try and burst someone down, when their gap closers are available, etc. |

DRTracker is listed.
you can see all of this in Gladius, and "I interrupted that!" addon. But yes, MSCT is a highly configureable combat text, but I'm trying to keep this as clean as possible.
certain dodges/misses/parries must be noticed (i.e gouge disarm), and the default text is actually very good. |

Certainly not. It's like a *@*%ty Elkano's.
I know, that's precisely what I was saying: filter out all white hits / crits / dodges / misses / parries, filter out all skill hits / crits, and you're left only with skill dodges / misses / parries: gouge, disarm, kidney, etc. |
|

Glad we're on the same page, alltho, I've never really had any issue with the default one, MSCT added tho. |
Certainly not. It's like a *@*%ty Elkano's. I use both. Class Timer displays Rupture, Sap, Gouge, Blind and all I put on my target. Also, it displays SnD and Recuperate that are on me. Elkano displays Raid Buffs, and DOT's, Bleeds, etc... that somebody puts on me. I like combination of these 2 addons. |

|
OmniCC and LoseControl is already covering up the most of this, even in the gladius-frames, they're clean and simple, so I feel it's a bit uneccesary listing another one. |

Elkano displays Exactly what you want it to display, including Rupture, Sap, Gouge, Blind, SnD, Recuperate. It certainly does NOT display raid buffs, unless you like cluttering up your screen for no reason. |

OmniCC Only thing that Omni does for me is Timer on my CD's, down there, on Action Bars, like little clock. So, hm, you can make bars with Omni and put the wherever you want on screen? Bar for Rupture for example? I never actually did any settings on the addon, I just installed it so it puts timer that counts seconds on my CD's so I know exactly how much time is left until Blind is ready and so on. |
Exactly what you want it to display, including Rupture, Sap, Gouge, Blind, SnD, Recuperate. Class Timer does that for be because it looks better, and it is much more simple to adjust it. OK OK OK OK? It certainly does NOT display raid buffs, unless you like cluttering up your screen for no reason. There is option to make it very very very very SMALL. |

I don't use such addons, I have no issues looking at nameplates, but I've moved focus-target further down to left and increased the size on enemyframe with MoveAnything aswell a bit closer to the middle. I can see rupture-timer perfectly fine there (omnicc shows seconds remaining there), so I don't feel that I need another bar floating around telling me a timer. The less "info" floating around, yet having a good overview, the better. |

Mmmm, my screen is clean, completely, in non combat. I do not even see abilities that are not CD's, abilities that are instant.
Only thing that pops when I am in Combat is Class Timer bars when I put some CC or bleed, poison, etc on my Target. It is very small, I just need it because I do not like position of where original is, and looks of it. If I am attacked, next to my character small bars will appear with bleeds and such that I have on myself. (elkano) That is basically all I use. Simple square from sexy map just for better looks. |

That's because it only lets you show your own abilities. The only configuration that Elkano's requires is telling it what you want to show. Obviously the more abilities you want to show the more configuration it requires.
Exactly, ie you don't need it at all, and you'd be better off using it for useful buffs and debuffs that classtimer doesn't provide (immunities, defensive CDs, offensive CDs). |
