Icicle - Adds enemy cooldowns to their nameplates! It should work with most nameplate addons.

ElvUI is a really sweet looking complete overhaul of the UI, and is basically set up out of the box.

I can recommend vanisher too, very useful. Also, does icicle show 'our' timers or 'theirs', as in does it display that they have used an ability and have x time til they can use it again? I'm asking as I need an add on to display the duration of sap or blind on someone who is not my current target/focus. I'm using RPB (have done since level 10, cant do without it) but it only show's on current target. I would love to be able to track stuns without having to see the stunned person on my screen

Well, these are my essential addons:
http://img690.imageshack.us/f/rogueui2.jpg/ Bartender and omni cc is already mentioned, so I wont go into more detail about those. -The one showing various buffs/debuffs is called "Debuff Filter". It basically let's you rearrange specific buffs and debuffs to any size and location you want it. In my case, I have recuperate below me. Defensive cooldowns such as evasion and combat readiness will also appear there. To my right are my offensive buffs (slice and dice, shadowdance and such) and trinket/wep.ench procs. To my left is the debuffs on my current target. Since I'm hitting a dummy, my last buff area wont show, but it will be in the spot above my target. It will display my targets buffs, but I have narrowed it down to crucial stuff like bubble, lichborne, recklessness, wings and stuff like that. Basically, if something shows up there, it's bad news... It is also possible to add frames for even more specific purposes, such as focus target, arena team members and so on. -The addon showing my combopoints is called...well... "combopoints". Again, it can be resized and moved anywhere you like. -Small addon that shows the range to my current target. Don't use it as much for melee, and tbh it's mostly handy for ranged classes. -The enemy healt bar addon is called "Tidy Plates". A highly customisable addon that has some of these features: -Class icon on top of bar. -Debuffs on top of bar (though I chose to disable this) -Enemy cast bar -Variable opacity between your current target and others. If you look at the picture, you will notice the 3 dummies in the background has less prominent healt bars. You can also program it so if someone you are not targeting is casting a spell, they will instantly gaing the same opacity as your current target, making it easier for you to see incoming spells, if you are fighting mulitple targets. It also has a threat indicator and other PvE oriented adjustments Edit: Thought I would also clarify that all of these addons have little to no impact on my system performance, and I'm playing WoW on a MacMini ;) |

I'd say NugComboBar is important/useful for rogues/ferals/palas because it shows up much clearer than the default ones on pitbull and blizzard ui, also bartender 4 is useful as well as aesthetically pleasing, allows you to see more of your screen, thus position pitbull ui better along with NugComboBar and it also has a "snowfallkeypress" built into it also (altho u should disable it when moving abilities around becuase otherwise you blow all ur cd's whilst moving them :p) doom cool down pulse is also good to use alongside or instead of omnicc, also quartz is a brilliant addon to show your debuffs you have on a target and focus target. although if you have a lot of debuffs applied it may cover casting timers etc so you need to keep that in mind whilst positioning the castbars, also i use tiptac to move the default tooltip somewhere more convinient for my liking along with it being customisable to show a variety of things.

Personally, I am a big fan of Rogue Focus Classic, which I've used for over 4 years now. Lightweight, simple, and just the right thing in my opinion as the most basic yet essential tool for a rogue: energy bar + a clear combo point bar + optional target health + optional self health. Place it anywhere, scale it, and configure it for when it should be visible.
Easy, simple, minimalistic, yet very effective =). |
