Kudos for taking this intiative and for creating this wiki! Well done!

Took me a while to figure out how to do what and where (as always, technology and me have a troubled history ;-) ), but I finally managed to put up some basic pages for Wirha and Xantippe!

Once I get the hang of it, I may update these with moar stuff, and/or add my other characters. Not to mention, the guild does deserve a page of their own, hmm... ^^

Here's to hoping more people will come and help expand it! Has some lovely potential.

I'm not sure about listing pve guilds as well. Sure, they are part of Moonglade, but they already have the Horde Guilds thread on here, and their own wowstead. If there's no RP involved, I don't see much reason to add it to the site.

My two cents.

This site is for Roleplayers, so if the PvE guilds want to make their own page, they'll have to start (if only just a bit) RP.

Why? Will they take up space from RP guilds somehow? The only thing they will do is generate more traffic to the wiki and more reasons for a Moonglader to read it and contribute.

Banning things from the start is a certain way to kill a project like that.

I'll make a list of the RP guilds, PvE guilds and even the PvP guilds. Nothing else to do atm anyways...

I think you should make a single list of all guilds, and then let each guild describe itself. Nowadays it's not easy to just put a guild in a single category, as all players (and guilds) dabble in everything on various extends.

True. I've made a page, link on the front page, where people can edit and add/remove guilds. All guilds welcome to be added of course.

This weekend I'm not gonna be much in-game or working on the site. I'm going on a real life event (OMG! I've suddenly got a life D:), still (board) gaming, so keep the thread alive and make people submit!!

Dunno, if I get MVP then I'll have to act responsibly all the time and won't be able to be sarcastic when I feel like it. You can't see it in the MG forum because it's my server and I need to be in good terms with the community, but over in the RP forum it's kinda my thing.

Anyway, I guess I should too make a profile... One of these days...

Added a few more pages. All of my four main RP characters are now there (links on my profile page). Not all backgrounds are as interesting, but that wouldn't be realistic anyway! =D

Doing it with my DK too, though it was easy. Just had to get tailoring :P

Alright, I was just skimming through the character profiles in the wiki, and I want to comment on a few things.

First of all, some form of standardization is desperately needed. For example having some stats on the top, then a description, then the background etc (this is just an example, not that I think that this way is best) because it can get a little chaotic. Having a standard template will not only make it easier for people to read the profiles, but also help inspire the creators to fill all the blanks.

In the same vein, I found out that the profiles have all the information that their creators want to show the world, but not really the information that *I* want to find by browsing a wiki. I think that a really important piece of information that most people omit, is what is known about their character by the general public. This isn't his background nor personality, though it can incorporate elements of both. For example, for Erethas I would (will) write the following:

A stern man in his early thirties. He is a known Stormwind bureaucrat and diplomatic liaison. He is a passionate patriot, and extremely loyal to King Varian. The simple folk are wary to speak ill of the King or Stormwind in general while Erethas is near.

That's it. I know it's not pretty on the eyes, but it's purpose is to be as informative as possible with as few words as possible. If people keep it short enough, I guess it could also be part of the infobox template. Also I think that the categories should be less about game terms (classes, races) and more about lore concepts ("Scarlet Crusade", "Kingdom of Stormwind", "Darkspear Trolls", "Defias Brotherhood" etc). That will make it easier for people to find characters that RP a particular concept, rather than going to "human", for example, and hoping to find the Scarlet RPers there.

A feature I'd like to see implemented, would be "People you might meet". I first saw this concept in the Stormwind City Guard (AD) website, where it was implemented through a gallery plug-in, but I like our implementation in RnP (thanks Shevron). Go to this link:

and refresh the page a few times to see what I mean (please be gentle on our bandwidth). I think it's a great way for the community to get to know each other, and also advertise our events. Not sure how exactly it could be implemented on a wiki, but I'd like to have it in mind.

The idea about the Race/Class/Faction categories was to more easily find characters from that certain category. You can always make a new category if you want to (on any page), though you have to send me a message if you want it on the front page (Made it only editable for Admins). Or else, you would get instant admin status once I find out how to give it >.> If you want to

The best way to support a product is to use it, hence I have added some features on the Iron Ring and related lore. To say its a work in project is not necessary when its a wiki and I will add features/expand when time allows it. I encourage everyone to do the same and help create a wonderful resource for the denizens of this server.
