Nelf or Worgen?
Nelf looks much better than worgen!
The only downside i see to worgens, Agreed. It really spoilt the race imo. |
I like worgen walk... :(
Definitely worgen! Night elves have awful combat anims, it will drive you mad, only nutters pick elves. Elves definitely aggro more horde. Especially if youre male, because-
you're a dps class, worgens have the best dps racials alliance side.
your choice isn't a choice. pick worgen. (yes, i did drop the money and go from gnome to worgen even though gnomes are the 2nd best race for dps racials) |
This is the OP ^^
Thank you all for all your answers :) Regarding human or undead - i have 2 humans so i don't want to play a 3rd and i am also playing Alliance. Dwarf and gnome i simply don't like their stealth animation. I like nelf model a little better I think, but worgen racials seem very nice, although I am thinking of getting mining and engineering so I would not use the skinning bonus. Why would you choose a nelf or worgen? |
Worgen look better, better racials.I'll actually correct you on this. Shadowmeld can still be used the same way as old vanish to immunize spells. At least it did when 4.0. something(Cata patch which made vanish worse) got released. |
nobody cares about that racial. 1% crit is superior to every other alliance racial for a rogue. only thing near it is the goblins 1% melee haste thing |

Do you wish to play casually, or focus on most gains? If you choose one of those, I can recommend you some professions beneficial for a rogue.
Sure please do!
I have 2 charterters which will be doing most the gaming since I am playing both pvp and pve on them. The rogue will be all PvP focused with occasinal maybe going some easy farm bosses(if I get too bored with the others) Other professions I have are enchanting, tailoring, blacksmithing & mining. I was thinking of droping mining on my main to get jc and use the rogue to mine and get engineering on him also. + who don't need more volatile airs :) Though I am thinking skinning & lw can be nice pick too. Think maybe easier to level + that enchant on bracers is really nice since next best thing needs maelstrom which are still very expensive. |

If your main focus is PvP on a Rogue, I personally would recommend Engineering and Jewelcrafting.
Seeing as you have Mining already, mining materials on a toon with a flying mount(preferably 280% or 310%) its extremely easy to farm those professions to a high level. Jewelcrafting gives the most bonus out of all professions stats-wise. It grants 3 more of any stat than other professions do. It's not much, but it is still the most. Plus, with JC you can obtain different gems rather than pure stats. There's increased Resi, Str, Agi, Stamina etc gems which other professions dont offer. Inscription example, provides raw AP only as a bonus, which is still good but still less than what 3x JC gems would offer. Engineering has been nerfed somewhat since WotLK. The rocketglove as a example was extremely good in WotLK, but it's not as good in Cataclysm. There however is the Synapse Springs, which increase your highest stat(agi int or str) for almost 500 for some amount of time, which is probably one of the best damage boosters in PvP in the game definitely. I run with Blacksmithing, because I spent 20k to level engineering and another 15k trying to learn the Tazik Shocker but never got it, so I dropped it. I regret it now! There are other professions that you might find more desireable, but if you wish to focus on PvP I recommend 2 crafting professions. Mining only grants a little stamina, which is not worth it over crafting. Skinning is Crit, but while crit IS good for a Rogue, other stats outweights them far. Leatherworking is good too, it gives you agility(I believe? Might be wrong that it doesnt anymore) on Bracers and gives you almost free epic legkits. It might be an alternative if you dont want to pay for legkits, but then again, 900g for one what its on my realm is nothing and because you only need to buy it twice at max(Viscious, and then the t2 viscious if you get to 2.2k) That's it simply for my input/recommendation. Whatever you decide is always, and will be yours only to choose. Hopefully my input has helped you a bit. PS. Engineering is nice for leveling too, because the extra kits (rocketboots on belt and parachute cloak) do get handy while leveling. |

If Blizzard fix the stealth/vanish vs. pets flaw, I would say Nelf.
The Worgen "SNIF, SNIF, SNIF" gives you away from a great distance. |

Hmm, very strange...
My arena partner told me nelf are getting buffed patch 4.1 and there will be 10% increased speed for rogues. Is this corrent as I cannot find such information? I also decided on prof - its gonna be mining and engineering, so just the race decision left. |

Actually pick worgen
NE sucks at all, and theyr animations are the worst of the game except for the jump, I hate ne female overall...so i always pick em up first in bg and i love how they die (and how they scream when falling :D) so... ^^ If you want to aggro everyone go for NE And i always feel sad when i had to kill a worgen so i always pick other races... |

104 crit rating. 30*3 (that's 90!) expertise rating for gnomes.
104/90 = 1.155555555...(and so on) Meaning that expertise's EP needs to be ~1.15 times crit's EP for 1% Crit < 3 Exp. Going by the general ''guideline'' - Exp 1.1 EP, Crit 0.9 EP. 1.1/0.9 = 1.22 1.22 > 1.15. But sure, for extra source let's go by my own EP values - Exp 1.06, Crit 0.87. 1.06/0.87 = 1.21 1.21 > 1.15. Point proven. Thing is though at the same time, it will go up/down depending on current gear setup. What makes Worgen > Gnome for mutilate is the sprint. But if you do not utilise it properly Gnome > Worgen. For combat Gnome > Worgen unless you're a beast(ho ho) at using the sprint. For sub Worgen > Gnome. Also 1% haste > 1% crit and Rocket Boots/Shot > Darkflight. |

By the way OP, just so you don't pick Worgen for the DPS... It's actually maybe a 1% DPS difference so unless this is your main and are serious about raiding then you shouldn't really care about 1% and just play what you like, I personally hate the way Worgens look so I'd pick female Nelf.
Have you considered Human or Gnome thou? They both have very good racials too... |
