I have a little dilemma, i really got bored of my rogue (because all of the nerfs and so on), and i wanna create a new alt which will probably become my new main.
The thing is that i really don't know what to pick, from what i have read on the forums i can see that lots of classes have been nerfed, for example the druid (which i would have rolled otherwise)... so i can't really make up my mind.
Anyway I would like to pick a class with multiple functionality like shammy, pally and so on (dps/healing or dps/tanking). So which one do you recommend ( either in terms of fun, or in terms of being a dps monster :]] )?
Thank you in advance!
You won't find a class that will suit you perfectly, most of the time you're going to dislike something about it.
Pala's are pretty fun, even though our random procs can be a little confusing for your rotation, it ends up working alright most of the time. XD
Just find one you enjoy the most, and try stick with it through nerfs/buffs.
The "most versatile" classes are ofc druids and paladins, being able to handle all 3 "main" roles, with druids also being able to split dps roles into caster and melee class.
But yes...I wouldn't look at nerfs, buffs or whatever when deciding which class to play, class balance is pretty much constantly adjusted. Look at what class appeals the most to you and go for it.
Personally I think there's no other class like druids but I might be just slightly biased :P
Just play what you find fun! not what is on the potential max DPS at the moment. Classes get nerfed and buffed constantly, if you want to reroll due to YOUR class getting weaker, you need 10 BiS geared lvl85's...
Anyways, play what you think seems fun. Im playing mage atm, with a priest alt, which i leveled up since healing looked fun/challenging, and a nice break of the constant DPS-comparisons. Being able to stay mana efficient on a long fight, while still throwing out tons of healing feels cool. Nice utility aswell, being holy. BaS, and leap of faith. It just feels awesome saving a guy from an instant kill by mashing your LoF button. (Al'Akir for example, or some kiting)
3 Troll Hunter
I recommend a priest. Just leveled one to 85, they're really fun in all 3 specs, like I haven't played a class yet where I enjoy all 3 specs so much in PvE.
If you want to give tanking a try I'd maybe have a go on a paladin? They're really easy to hold aggro with for beginners, so you can concentrate more on learning how to pull and position, and all the other important parts of tanking. They kind of do all the basics really easily, but you can always get better with how you use your hand and defensive spells on allies. I don't like mine really, but that's just personal preference. Warbringer is too much fun to play other tanks!
But yeah, like other people have said, find a class you find fun. Balance will change.
