Our glorious realm. It's fantastic. What makes it fantastic is the fact it's full of classy, friendly and intelligent people, and I bet you, reader, are one of them. I'll go one further than that, though: I'm going to predict that you know people who fall into the category of "shining awesome" too. How could you not? In our four years of existence - four years! - we've seen hundreds upon hundreds of outstanding men and women enter our hallowed halls. The time has come for them to be recognised.
This thread, then, is here for you to shout from the rooftops about your fellow realmites. Have you had a good time in a PUG with someone? Is there a person with whom you've had a close friendship for years? Did you get some unexpected but greatly enjoyable roleplay with a hitherto complete stranger? Has someone on /trade sold you something for a lower than average price, just 'cos they're so kind and generous? Tell us about it! Make your compatriots blush! Compile huge lists, full of names and reasons. Ctrl+F in search of your own alias, and frown when no results turn up! Okay, okay, less of the latter, but hey! To start us off, I'm going to appreciate Dalvoron, a seemingly tireless player who has come up with all sorts of ideas on how to best welcome new players to the realm. Gnomeregan Welcome Packs, eh? Those sound mighty nifty! I'm yet to find out what's actually in them, though. Oh, and Jacquel can have an appreciation, too. One of the most insightful players of this fair realm. She's like a duck in a pond: she knows what's going on. Both Alliance, huh? I'll hand out an appreciation to Watrus too, then! One of the funniest people I know, with a great, magnificent sense of empathy, and a surprisingly wicked sense of humour. Begin the circle je- group hug, everyone! |

I appreciate Dewilde for being an awesome character and for being really approachable. Also to Eroth, Aedrick and Zaranka for being great characters to be involved with on my Worgen and for providing some quality roleplay :D

Oh yes!
First off: Penanna / Revísceré / Arderé: Not only are you so headstrong and stand-your-ground-stubborn I'm torn as to whether I should applaud and admire or grieve your efforts(they do give you these brief, angry outbursts that I find amusing yet oddly endearing!), I still see you as one of the best friends I've made on The Sha'tar. You endure my insufferable rants about the state of Alliance, which is magnificent, since you're oftentimes biased towards Alliance yourself. The day which we both admitted to having gear/RP-stalked each other prior to actually saying anything to each other is the day I knew I wasn't alone in indulging in my strange, sordid past-time activities whilst online. Least of all, you're one beautifully verbose roleplayer - one to my heart! The cross-realm RP storyline we've had going is genuinely one of the most intricate, detailed and engaging RP I've ever conducted. Thank you! Second off: Sateal / Sarfek: You know you've met a great internet friend when you know you can agree to disagree without jeopardizing the sanctity of the friendship itself, thus keeping it intact. You're one of those people! I vividly recall our first conversation, in which both of us were depravedly swift to start yapping on about our character's - their quirks, their flaws, ideology and so on - and I ushered in some form of newfound love for my own character. I might never have told you this, but it inspired me to make some minor alterations, but I never had the ego to tell you that. Oh snap!... That's all I can stomach for now. I need to go reapply my balm of self-centered braindead lotion! |

Okay. So, I admit. I hardly ever appreciated anyone on the old forums as Refestus. I'll redeem myself. Here are the main offenders -
Kilam/Krisom - A great friend. All the times we shared back in the day - introducing ourselves to RP, evolving our characters, running our guilds, being apart of other peoples' guilds, maturing our RP from bouts of random drama to substantial character interaction - "Thank you" just doesn't cut it. We're roleplaying brothers-in-arms and we should definitely contact each other more often than we do at the moment. Elega - Another great friend. It's a shame Refestus and Elega didn't seem to work out in the end and it's also a shame you don't have that much time for RP anymore. However, you are yet another person who helped me develop my characters and get a brilliant RP experience over the years. I hope you had as much fun RPing with me as I did with you. Aérandir - Yet ANOTHER great friend. My time in Esoteric Illusion and more importantly, in roleplay with you, was amazing. That chance encounter Ref, Aér and Kris had a few months ago was filled to the brim with nostalgia and also reminded me of just how good an RPer you and Kris really are. We need to RP again sometime, man. Vermilleon/Viralua - An amazing friend, an amazing partner. Although it's a shame we split up on some bad terms, it's good we're still friends and can remember all the many great times we had together. Oh yes, and then there was World of Warcraft and the RP. That was amazing too. Shalena/Leena/Ryzarhn/Vessel - Probably one of the best OOC friends I've had on The Sha'tar and one of the only people I can talk to about the most disgusting and macabre of things without offending or repulsing. We've had some really visceral, top quality RP, some incredibly insightful OOC conversations and you're an all-round top-notch kind of guy. Don't stop being a blight on the world, man. Gremkarc/Hodges/Kruss/Etc. - A friend of IMMENSE proportions. Dagger and Totem is one of my firm favourite guilds and has certainly provided the most and the best RP I've had on The Sha'tar. For the love of god, don't ever stop making brilliant events, making brilliant RP characters, being a brilliant guild leader, being a brilliant guy and making such brilliant, eye-bleedingly long forum posts. Ursala - Also probably one of the best friends I've had on The Sha'tar, you - much like Ryzarhn - are one of the few people I can feel comfortable around being my true, repugnant self. We've had some amazing conversations and the RP we've had in the past has been great, if slightly lacking in quantity. So I propose moar. Don't stop being a blight on the world, man. Done for now. There will be more later. |

Right now? Ravange, Salax, Refestus, Gulgrim and Gremkarc. They know why.
Especially Ravange. Only he knows the pain (of the diaphragm) that was the Miss S**t Reenactment of 2011. Where was my supposed boyfriend when I needed support in my time of need? Showing solidarity in our endurance of the sheer hilarity? Downstairs, like a scaredy cat. The power of the gay best friend prevails. ...I'd also like to give a special shout out to Gremkarc's unfortunately-named five-year-old niece, and Gremkarc's dad. Way aye man. On a more serious, less in-jokey, circle-je-- insular-group-huggy note: Ruharg whom I didn't get to see for TTAW but whom I did meet in the Wyvern's Tail. It was the first random RP I'd had in a while and I was actually stupidly nervous about it, not to mention afraid you'd shun me for the multitude of AFKs that I had to go through for various reasons. But no. You didn't shun me. In fact we got some awesome RP done, even if it was cut short by me having to leave for RL commitments. I hope you will forgive me for this. And I hope you find the guild you're looking for! The female blood elf mage that roleplayed with us in the wyvern's tail. Quite refreshing to have somebody new about when I'm not constantly being called away! The female troll druid who roleplayed with me at stupid AM in the morning on Durotar's east coast. I thought my RP was over for the night when my guildie went to bed but no! I was rescued from evil sleep by you. I hope your character got on okay with the giant flying machines. <3 |

Aw Ursala you so silly! I don't shun people, I'm no shunner, and of course I forgive you not that you did anything wrong!
In fact I feel rather certain in saying that I luff this community a whole huggy-buggy bunch <3 If anything I should thank Ursala, that random RP was one of the first for Ruharg and one of the first times I RP'd an Orc, so it's safe to say I was rather nervous myself and was rather chuffed with how well it went :D I should add further thanks for the guide you wrote, it has helped me more than I'd like to admit xD I also appreciate Anthraxius, that awesome pile of rotted flesh and brittle bones, his beard shall live on long after we all die. But in all seriousness he has been a great friend to me and is an awesome RP'er who knows his stuff. And of course Shakrah, you're a fantastic example of an RP'er and whilst I RP the master I still look to the student for wisdom. And uh... oh bugger it I've never been good at giving thanks to people, as much as I may want to D: so I'll say that I appreciate everyone ever, no seriously, I love all of you guys... LOVE! ALL OF YOU! ESPECIALLY YOU, ADRIAN! (I don't actually know anyone called Adrian but I thought it'd be fun to mess with the heads of all the Adrians out there, also yes, that was a Yahtzee reference, go me!) |

Myakita and Gweryan for being my stupid'o'clock buddies!
|
|
Obviously Mithurinatus for being Ellia's father.
Tanía for having been a great friend through the three/four years we've known each other. :3 Jessicka for being as abnormal as Ellia and being able to accept her for who she is. ... And some others. |
|
Awww, Grem. <3
Alright, it's been about three years since I posted in one of these, and I warn you, I'm about to be soppy. I appreciate Iyokus (or Serat, as he goes these days), for being the longest-standing friend I've had on the server, and on WoW at large. There have been good times, and there have been bad, but I'll love you to bits till the end of the world, man. I appreciate Gremkarc (and all his various alts) for offering me a place of refuge in a personal crisis, for putting up with all my rants and rage, and for being an all-round awesome guy without who the server wouldn't be what it is. I appreciate Vashnu for being a permanent, annoyingly hilarious and hilariously annoying fixture of the roleplaying environment. Rock on. I appreciate Whispers and Katsura - largely for the same reasons, and largely equally, and I admit that if I hadn't heard your voices, I'd sometimes suspect you're the same person. I appreciate Northwall for all his efforts and good intentions. I appreciate Rioriel for being the most fab guy ever. I appreciate Mils for being my goblin wife. <3 I appreciate Qauren for being honest and reasonable. I appreciate anyone and everyone who's ever been part of <A Perfect Circle>, <Dagger and Totem> or <Horizon>. With some I may have had my differences, but all of these people have made up the whole of my WoW experience, and I wouldn't trade a day. And finally, for everything, I appreciate Subtle. |

I appreciate Ransagast/Aldrathorn/Ajax/whoever else he is on Horde, for being very much a guide during my early days of roleplay, and helping me to understand it.
I appreciate anyone who contributes to the community, as without everyone, a single guild won't be doing very much. I appreciate Dathran, for showing every other scarlet crusader guild, how it was done. I appreciate Totum, Devrim, and Emeron, for giving me a hand with raiding where I needed it in the last expansion, after leaving Dark Glare. I appreciate Kermill (who has now left the server) for being the one I could always rant at when I got myself in a huff, before she made me realise that sometimes, I'm very much wrong. I appreciate Mana/Cinara/Eraline, for being a great bit of fun, having a great sense of humor, and finally, practically carrying me through Arena xD Finally, I appreciate every do-gooder, for being the great opponents I'm still fighting! |

I'll keep this short and sweet, flattery isn't my strongsuit.
Jedodiah/Deion/Michaelis/Pereira/Softclaw/Emivressiel He has always managed to keep me motivated in some way or another, I enjoy watching him burst off into a huge rant and we tend to sync a lot because we're a lot alike. He taught me the value of not restraining yourself too much in roleplay, do what you want, whenever you want to do it, perfectly within reason without letting someone else put you down for it due to a choice of dialouge, words or even actions that might not suit the interests of other people. Sure, he gets into a fair few arguments but he really is a nice guy if you just talk to him. Chernov People have never really seemed taken with Chernov, I don't know why. Underneath a layer of not so witty trollness, he's a brilliant roleplayer who has carried out a few events on our realm in his time or so I hear at least. If you set him to a task, he'll get through it with passing colours and is an excellent driving force for conversation and common sense when push comes to shove. None of my guilds would really be the same without him and I hope that he remains a constant member. Girem He's on this list for the same reason why I enjoyed Twilight. Riffing. Elithion Never once has she ever let me down as a source of amusement during roleplay, nor actually in a whispered conversation offering some form of advice or other. Quite a pleasent person who has inspired a few of my ideas. Mana/Cinara/Etc Explosive. She showed me the ways of the arena, got me a sword and we have quite a few good laughs here and there. I can now actually survive for a few minutes during a battleground, and during most boss fights. <_<'' Drellia Self-proclaimed eccentricity, never gets old. I'd also feel rather guilty if I didn't add him after adding Girem to this list. Northwall Watching him rant or just talk in-general feels like partaking in a classroom session that I have always been prone to ignoring and eh, he taught me a few things back in my early RP days that I haven't really forgotten for the most part. Goldac He's pretty cool, has some interesting ideas at times but maybe he could use a little more help from me in executing them. Alyka She is pretty cool. There are some other people but I shall refraim from mentioning them due to shyness on my part. -Bows, steps outside.- On another note, it's more due to that if I continued, I'd take up the entire page with an endless list. |

Haru
Love you. You've been my best E-friend for a long time and you've been a real bro. You showed me the best animes I could've ever thought of, you showed me some awesome plotlines in WoW and made some interesting events. You've never ceased to surprise me and your potential is good, it's always a surprise to see when you've evolved. Chernov You're a real bro. You just are. Terrafros Best, guild leader, EV0R. Been a fantastic help to me and has never been afraid to ask my questions and guide me with them along the way, a total bro. Miggo A total bro. You took me from my loller days and made me into someone who, whilst still bending the line of logic for comedic purposes, abides by what lore he knows and adapts to what he finds out. Hugamarí I had the best RP with this person, you took me and showed me something amazingly clever, and very surprising. I loved every second of RP with you, and you helped me gain a weapon I couldn't have dreamed of getting. Kamina You have been the greatest source of inspiration and vigorous glory to me that I have ever known. You have always been right, always known right from wrong, you took your way down the spiral path and you've continued to do so even in death. You sacrificed yourself for our sins and despite what we didn't know then we now know it today. You were a total bro man. A total bro. When Gurren Lagann first combined you knew something needed fixing, and you took that 'combining' and made it into total bro 'gattai'. You're awesome. I want to be like you. You have amazing skills. Eriesa:
For showing me support in the hardest times, when a new Real life issue is turning up he is always ready to show support and most of the time able to swing your mood from the bad to the better and for leaving his roleplay on Argent Dawn behind to come and support my project! :) Darellius: For being a source to some of the best RP i have ever experienced, Showing support and sharing ideas for the project and for being super friend! and yeah in my own opinion, best guy at RP macros on Sha'tar! :) Azofer: For being Alapans cousin and for all the crazy moments we have had on skype! xD Roswelt: For all the crazy viking talk we can pull of about plundering villages and !#!# *%*%*es, and make it sound like it isn't the complete same thing we have said 20 times before! x) Haru: For showing interest and support to my project, darn glad that Wordan got you there the first time we held one of those meetings. Hegbert: Though not available on the server anymore. i'd still appreciate him for taking part in the early days of House of Thandorans revival, the project would have been nowhere without you. Tythazar: For bringing a few new ideas to the project in it early days. And a little hello to good Ol' Runetotem(my original Server if u guys don't mind?) Deadbeam/Steefy/Zulent: For being my longest lasting WoW friend through the last 6 years and hopefully many more. When we decide to quit WoW may we joine Rift! XD Darkbliss: For being bloody damn crazy! and for alot of great Pve experiences along wiht The Invincible guild! probably many more but i can't remember all! xD |

Every single damn member of my guild.
Why? Cause they held out with me for two years now. We're still going, we're still having a great time, making the Vanguard of Vigilance a guild that's actively involved in the server, and all that while building up great friendships. Can't imagine life without them. |
|
|
Awlhis. You'll probably never read this, but you're still awesome.
|
|
I appreciate all the folks in Dragos Midnight and our close-knit group of friends from outwith the guild. Without them, I would've cancelled my subscription long ago, but they keep the game alive for me.
Don't stop being amazing, guys. |

I will start with:
Ursala <3 She helped me emerge from my cocoon of anxiety for a brief period and venture to a Dagger and Totem meet-up. Meeting (practically) strangers was a big no-no to me. On a scale of 1-"why is my heart outside my chest"? It rated pretty high on my stress charts. Buuuuuuut she offered me understanding and never acted disappointed or annoyed when I messed around and acted flaky. Gremkarc He's been a huge help in getting me back onto the RP scene and making me feel good about my role play! He also graciously invited me to the DnT meet up and also helped me get over my anxieties about it! On top of that, he allowed both me and Ursala to relive a very special moment of his life. Gulgrim This guy was a star and drove me all the way to said DnT meet-up. Had it not been for his offer I'd have never gone! And had I never have gone I'd have missed out on a very amazing weekend and proved to myself that I can meet new people without crumbling into a quivering mass! There are others I appreciate. This is only the beginning. |

Wonderful idea for a thread, Grem.
Having only really been part of the game since December last year (when I levelled my Druid and hit level cap for the first time ever), i've come a heck of a long way in 16 months. It's been an incredible ride thus far and there's so many people that deserve so many mentions. All the guys in <Emnvika> whilst I was there. They introduced me to raiding and "end game", and entertained me many an evening. Particular shout outs to Siva for being my Mage brother in arms, Sekhial, and Newc. I love you guys. I appreciate Dunjamor and the boys in <United Raiders> for taking me along to ICC25 and sparking my interest in 25 man raiding (and for allowed me to play Feral when I could've been healing!). If it weren't for you guys I may never have joined APC. I appreciate Ogier and Yasheira for so many hilarious after hours Heroics and general messing around. For helping me when I became an Officer, and for leading Raids alongside me. You guys rock (even if Ogs is from Canadaland). Absolutely massive appreciation out to Cail and Loru. I wouldn't be half the healer I am today without you two putting up with me as your young padawan. For being my Holydin compadré, competing with me constantly, and pushing me to be better, I appreciate Ridji. Holydins 4 lyf bro. For all the Battlegrounds, RP, Dungeons, Levelling, Raids, general chats, Achievements and generally getting everything out of this game that it has to offer, my appreciation to <A Perfect Circle>. Everyone will say it about their guild, but you guys really are the greatest. and finally I appreciate Subtle, for a countless number of things, not least of which the trivia and general chat on Vent to make even the most horrible of Raid trash entirely pleasant. We wouldn't be without your emminent Britishness. There's so many more I could mention, but this thread would go on forever if I did! You guys all know who you are, and you know this game wouldn't be the same without any of you! Q |
