Topic An Alt Guild for RP geared BG's
A while ago I posted with the idea of setting up some guilds to organise 20-29 battlegrounds for RP geared characters. These guilds are now set up and recruitment can begin.
If you like the excitement of an well-matched battleground and enjoy bestowing your characters with, well, character then we invite you to make an alt and join either <The Last Call Militia> on the Alliance or <The Dregs> for the Horde:
In order to curry favour with a wealthy goblin trade family the Horde military leaders have given command of a war party to the Goblin officer Hogweed . It was a backhanded gesture however, showing the contempt the Horde have for their new allies. The warriors and spellcasters supplied by Hellscream are green and untested, plain lazy or psychotically unmanageable - The Dregs of the Horde’s forces.
Meanwhile, in Ironforge, a few mistimed words within earshot of Moira Thaurissan sees Sergeant Major Elssa Stonehammer re-assigned to a far flung Alliance outpost. Her new command are the sc%%##@@s of the recruitment barrel; draught dodgers, oddballs and those true warriors who have fallen in to disfavour with their commanding officers, nick-named ‘The Last Call Militia'.
These guilds are not just about fun battlegrounds and RP geared characters. As they are designed specifically for alts they’ll be the perfect place to meet players from other guilds and advertise roleplaying events that your main’s guild are holding. To this end we encourage players to use the guild calendars to promote their own events and the message of the day will announce the next event on the calendar.
Your character should be equipped in gear that represents its personality rather than best-in-slot items. No items are forbidden but players should aim for a character that performs as if they had mostly level appropriate greens with maybe a blue item or two. This allows players to forego certain item slots to get the right look (shoulders for example) or adopt an unconventional play style (i.e. melee hunter) and make up for it with better gear in slots that aren’t visible. Some balancing will be inevitable so please don’t be offended if you are asked to try using different items.
We’re not asking for huge time commitments, if you can log in once a week and join us for some battles then that’d be great. Characters will not be removed for lack of play time. Getting your character to 29 doesn’t take too long and we’ll help you with finding the gear you need for that perfect look. Both guild banks will be stocked with any quirky items that we find in our travels or going cheap at the auctions.
If you have any queries or suggestions or want to show your interest then please post here or contact Elssa or Gryke on the Alliance, or Hogweed or Tinckz on the Horde.
As you might be able to tell from Hogweed's Armory profile, he's not yet got himself decked out in RP gear (nor hit level 29 yet, lazy Goblin!). If you'd like to have a look at my profile then you'll get an idea of what we're talking about. As a dedicated soldier of the Alliance I've gone for the traditional blue and grey. I might need toning down by removing/replacing some of the 'invisible' items (rings, necklace, etc) as I've recently been battlng heirloom geared characters in the normal BG's.
We're not expecting everyone to gear up as soldiers, the purpose of the guild fluff is to give people as much of a free hand as possible when creating their character. Anyone and everyone could end up in the Last Call.
A platform for promoting your guild events, an extra RP'ing character in suitable gear and battlegrounds where the aim is a fun, even battle rather than one-shotting and honor farming. Sounds good eh?
