I thought that the Thompson tg789vn could not be used in conjuction/series with other routers. Do you connect the Thompson tg789vn via a cable to the "random router" or via wifi??
Oh I would love this to work!! |

I disabled the wifi on my netgear and used an ethernet cable to link the 2 .... 3 pcs in my house are attached by ethernet into the netgear whilst 1 is on wifi hence having to disable 1 as i don't know enough to change the ip on one of the wifi routers to have them both enabled so had a clash issue with wifi but once that as done everything works smoothly. No lag or loading problems as we get into a dungeon, new zone or a bg.

Contacted my internet provider Telia today, and they promised me to send me a new Thompson, because my old one was a TG784, and couldn't be updated with new firmware. Once they've sent me the new router they'll contact me and they also allowed me to test their new firmware, which is in a testing phase. So hopefully on a way to a solution!

[quote]I have hooked up my netgear router to my thomson and i can confirm i have had no problems with my loading screen, my husbands has been fine and so has our sons so a huge thanks for suggesting this! Thank you! :) Me & Konah might make a setup Video and post it here and on Youtube. For the people that isn't really tech! :) |

I can confirm that it works with a router added to the Telia Thompson gateway/router... BUT, not without some issues.
1. Theoretically the added router should be configured to "Bridge mode" to avoid two NAT-routers in series. The network works flawlessly. However, with this setup you will get the same WoW freezes as before. :-( 2. If you force the added router to be in "Distribute IP-adresses mode" (resulting in two NATs routers in series) it messes up some network features like UPnP... BUT WoW works!!! |

Testing a VPN tunnel now wil update if it works. I have the Thompson twg870u With the same problems cant get into Arena and DS. Somtimes i have no problem and somtimes i cant do !@#$ @ all. So hope this works for now.

http://i44.tinypic.com/t6feyf.png What should I use for "Distribute IP-adresses mode"? Been using this router solution for 2 days, got stuck once! |

Hello Forum,
We didn't have time to make a setup video might do it this week. If you can't get it to work i suggest a temporary solution. http://www.smoothping.com/r/114002/ It is a tunnel vision program. It is only temporary till Me & Konah are making the setup video so you all can enjoy World of warcraft again. :) |
Hello Forum, Any vpn-tunnel works (I have a vpn tunnel from vpntunnel.se and I have never got stuck once when I had that on). But smoothping is really cheap if you want to use that! |

It does work. See my comment above.
To get it working: 1. Switch off the wireless of the Thompson. 2. Set the additional router to distribute ip-adresses (i.e. share one ip-adress). If your added router runs in bridged mode, you will get the same issues as without the added router. |
It does work. See my comment above. No I am afraid it doesn't work. I switched of my wireless Thomson and I had my router (D-Link DIR-655) in DHCP and it didn't work. If it didn't, it didn't! |
Adding another router to the Thomson will not work. You will still get the loading screen issue. You have done something wrong or it simply does not work with the router you are using. Do you have another router lying around somewher? Try to use it or borrow a router from a friend of yours. |

Also have tried router to router, without it working. However im not great with this stuff. I linked my belkin router to my thompson box via ethernet cable. My computer found the belkin via wireless and i connected to it, but still had issues. Can someone maybe spread any light on what i might be doing wrong? Also what is this bridging connections stuff and how do i do it :) ?
