Probably right but I'm sure they could have merged that with the quest log in a nice way if they tried. |

even i as a person who doesnt collect anything think this is a very very very bad idea! :| i dont want to make space for keys in my bags its redicilous! and what if i need i key and if the key is in my bank ? do i have to go back take it from my bank and then go to the place i want to go to ? O_o I HOPE NOT! otherwise i will have to keep all those useful keys in my bag 24/7 because u decided its a good idea to cut the bottom of the keyrighg bag ? tc tc tc tc BAD BLIZZARD BAD!!!

You missed this part, "So since you can get around the locked gate so easily, why keep the gate locked at all?". |
[quote] I don't need gear to do raids because others, who have gear, carry me. And changing how much BS keys stack won't change the game for say 90% of players. |
|
No my point is, his post is telling exactly the opposite.
Keys are beeing removed, however he claims that you can either use BLACKSMITHING keys or ASK YOUR FRIEND to open the gate for you WITH THE MASTER'S KEY. No really... |
|
So, for us non-rogue classes which rely on huge stacks of blacksmithing-crafted keys to open lockboxes, we will have yet another thing cluttering our bags.
Don't worry tho! I'm sure they will bring a keyring back... As a premium option. |
Ok true but can you name ONE rational reason for the removal of keyring and way the system works? |
No my point is, his post is telling exactly the opposite. Rofl! First time I see a MVP fail so badly |

Step 1: open the code of bagnon
Step 2: copy it Step 3: paste it Step 4: congratulations no keyring in the main bar, no retarded bags either. Whuha how wonderful! Step 5: put 5000 other things in the micro menu to then delete it again just when we think we have more bag space. Step 6: Congrats blizz, you have just wasted a few days on recoding the keyring and useless keys, while you could have been working on firelands, to actually make it not to have bugs. No bugs?! What?! Or something like class balance would be wonderful aswell.. or maybe actually add a feature we want, instead of some retarded change most of the wow players actually have an addon for..yes an addon! woooh! And that addon does for free what we cannot do with 15 euros a month x insert random amount of million subs x 12 x6, nooo way!? Unbelievable !! note: this is sarcastic.. |

Don't really like this change at all. Makes our bags clutter, when the Keyring was made Specificly for it.
I can understand why you are doing it, so people don't have to go through the stress of collecting each keys from here and there to open this and that. That is the point of a MMO. Working for your things. Don't think its going to help at all, and I'm pretty sure alot of people think the same way. |
|
|
Why...?
So instead of extra space (which has been asked for in many threads), you decided to dump all the "key" items with any sort of use into our inventory. This is actually something your development tems took work and spent paid hours to implement? Good job guys. I think I can hear the sound of those 600k subscribers stampeding back already. -.- Seriously though, couldn't just like...remove the useless keys and leave the keyring alone? Blizz can't be that dumb to believe players want this, what's the real reason for this change? Extra inventory storage planned in the future as a premium feature? |
|
It would be better for no keys at all, all TBC heroic dungeons should be accessable without a key.
I don't want to take a key with me to enter some instances and keep it in my bag... And while you're fixing this keyring thing, how about to give some more bankslots for your own? And the first bag in bagslot make that a 20 slot or so instead of a 16 slot... |
|
Putting keys back in our bagspace?
Not a good idea in my book. Maybe most keys are of no use, but we have some left. How mutch? 4, 5? We struggle with bagspace as it is. Maybe replace those keys with an achievement that grants you acces to the place the key is for? |
|
|
The whole key system sounds a bit outdated TBH, and this change is interesting. I'm assuming they'll only keep a very few keys left, or actually, I hope they'll remove them completely.
Considering so far Blizz has only tried to free up more bag space with us, with the mounts and pets in seperate windows, and several Blizz posts mentioned a similar system for tabards is being considered, I'd say its unlikely Blizz now clutters our precious bag space with keys :P That'd be the total opposite. What interests me is this line in the Blizz post; "This change could also potentially allow us to play around with the amount of default storage space you’re allotted down the road." An extra bag slot perhaps? That'd be epic. |

I just can't comprehend how developer time is being funneled into this. Are keys a problem in the game? Has anyone, ever, in the history of the game complained about having a keyring? I like my keys where they are - they are a sort of history of things I've done and places I've been - to remove them serves no purpose other than to narrow the scope of the game.
Why fix things that aren't broken, when so many other things are? How you can have the audacity to announce it in a blue post like some exciting, brilliant piece of gaming history is being made is beyond me - at most it should have been a patch note. What's the next useless and unwanted feature we can expect? We've had Guild-Finder, now the Keyring Disintegrator... Right now we're working hard to make an exciting new feature ready for patch 4.2 - the Minimap Border Colourer will allow you to change the colour of the tiny border thing around the minimap. We're working night and day to implement this beauty, but rest assured we have pulled people out of the content/PvP/class balance/lore teams to get it ready on time! |

There is some logic in this as we have more bag space now to store the keys in than we did when the keyring was introduced, However there are more "Keep" Items in the world too. It's a very good point about the hundreds of Tabbards etc taking up space too. They have increased on par with the increased sizes of bags over the expansions. I have attachment to some keys too. Never forget the mammoth run for The Masters Key for Kara. I suppose I am fine with this change as long as most keys are taken out, and just keep the one time use quest keys. Last thing we need is 20 Keys along with our 40+ Tabbards taking up all our bank space. There's hardly any room left for my Train Set and Remote controlled car :-) But I'd wait to see the "cool stuff" that's going to be implemented before complaining.. After all they are just keys. EDIT: Seriously though, couldn't just like...remove the useless keys and leave the keyring alone? Blizz can't be that dumb to believe players want this, what's the real reason for this change? Extra inventory storage planned in the future as a premium feature? Don't give them ideas lol |

Has anyone ever noticed that the majority of QQ comes from Night Elf players?
I find the sheer amount of whine on this forum mindboggling to say the least. Why QQ in a thread about the removal of the keyring about other @%*! that is completely unlinked to this? If you're not a developer, please go sit in a corner and shut it. As a player, you either take what you get and be glad about it or move a long. |

If you're not a developer, please go sit in a corner and shut it. I've got a better idea. You be quiet. It's our right as players to criticise especially when the change is arbitrary and unecesarry. The game's been dumbed down enough already without yet more white-washing and over simplification. |

I like my keys where they are - they are a sort of history of things I've done and places I've been - to remove them serves no purpose other than to narrow the scope of the game. Blizz is clearing up some pixel space for future stuff. Can't be that hard to understand. Nobody complained about the keyring, but keys aren't that necessary either.
Aye, the amount of "Keep" items is getting a tad out of hand and I'm running out of bagspace on my main. Stuff like tabards and event awards. Originally I wanted to keep all the Dalaran Fountain Coins for fun, but I just couldn't spend that much bag space on them. My old tier set have been vendored too, even though I preferred to keep them. I'd sooooo much love to get more bag space. If the removal of the keyring means I can have another bag, I support this 200%. Also, my bank could do with another bag slot too :P |

One more to protest this really saddening change. Not so much for the loss of bag space, more the loss of the keys themselves.
The keys were one of the last reminders of how WoW was once an epic journey where even access to, let alone the the success of, the challenges rested on your willingness to make the effort. My favorites, because they were so "key" at the time. The Key to Scholomance Shadowforge Key Key to the City (of Strathome) Key to Searing Gorge Scarlet Key Crescent Key (Dire Maul) |
