Let protection warriors dual wield again please!
|
|
I hear you, I understand you, I think... With my meager ability to read and write English, I believe you just want to WEAR the offhand when in Protection Spec. Not to use your Shield Slams and Devastates, like in the beginning of the wall of text, just to wear it.
And with that, I totally support you. In my opinion, you are allowed to stand on Stormwind Auctionhouse's roof with Glaives on you back and watch the /drool drip. With that said, I've tried tanking with dual-wielding from time to time, just to get a feel for it. It ain't so bad, worse than 2-hander ofcourse, but I can still hold aggro. Wait for a minute... Hey! You should take an arrow to the knee and die, with your Warrior, and resurrect as a Death Knight! That oughta do the trick. :) |
|
Yeah, I did actually make this Deathknight just to be able to stand around with glaives (also for enchanting and jewelcrafting). Only have the off-hand so far though. I'd still like to be able to equip them on my main without being mocked as a furry noob.

Pretty much yeah.
Does anyone know if this is fixed on the MoP beta? |

I'm not going to give up on this till I get a response from Blizzard.

Totally agreeing with you Spyderman; im in the same boat! Even though I only have the offhand warglaive I would still like to wear it without having to go fury.. I dont think this is asking for much since it has no effect on gameplay whatsoever. Lets hope for the best..
Edit: typo |

Got my sign.

Spyderman, I agree with your posts completely.
I have not yet gone into BT to persuade Illidan to hand over his Glaives (might do in the future), but I still have some pretty neat one hand weapons which I'd love to wear for cosmetic/nostalgia reasons. As you can see, I have no Fury spec. As has been stated before, pre-Cata, I did not need a Fury spec to dual wield anyway. To those who think allowing all Warrior specs to dual wield (while giving any dual-wield damage bonus to Fury Warriors) would be a pointless change, I agree. It is a completely pointless (from a min/max approach) cosmetic change which we had for a long time. It would add fun changes in appearance to a class. To those same people, did you argue against Transmogrification as vehemently? Another "pointless", purely cosmetic change to characters in the game. This one stretches to more than the Warrior class and to more slots than just the weapons. At least, last time I checked. |

Prot is shield. Arms is big 2h. Fury is duel wield. End of story

To be honest I've pretty much given up on WoW entirely, the only thing I do is Black Temple a couple of times a week on my alts, I've got another warrior with the mainhand and a deathknight with the offhand. Feels wrong to stop playing and leave them with one glaive each. I might start playing again in MoP, who knows?
It's stuff like this that makes me want to leave this game well behind and move on. Three things... Firstly the fact that this change (along with many others that most people didn't even notice, like the sunwell warrior set changing appearance for example... http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2384739124) happened in the first place. I'm used to warriors getting nerfed, I've been playing warrior since early TBC, I can handle nerfs, but it's the little pointless things like this that really niggle me. There's no reason for it other than lazy programming and slack coding. Frankly that's not what I expect for the amount of money I've paid Blizzard over the years. Secondly the community in general is so utterly moronic at the moment that I just can't face logging in anymore, it's just too painful. I'm not just talking about people in this thread that can't read or can't type or can't think about things like a rational human being. I'm talking about the whole community in general, every time I log in or browse the forums it's the same eye-burning pain. Thirdly the apathy of Blizzard. This thread has been going for a long time and Blizzard has ignored it entirely. I originally made this thread in the customer support forum, someone obviously read it and decided it wasn't worth the time or effort of typing a short reply so they just moved it here to die. Pro-tip: If you want to make damn sure that no one from Blizzard ever reads your thread.... Post it in the warrior class forum. Many people at this point will be thinking "haha, this fool Spyderman is expecting a reply from Blizzard when everyone knows that A) they never reply to threads on the warrior forum and B) there are 100 more important issues that deserve a reply and aren't getting one". This is exactly my point, contrary to popular belief, it's not hard to reply to a thread on an internet forum, just look at some of the imbeciles that managed to string together some words into semi-coherent sentences in this thread. It's not hard to take a moment to reply to one of the people that puts food on your table. Realistically I'm not even expecting them to revert this change, I'd just like a few words of explanation, even if it's just to confirm my own theory (see post #6). |
|
...And done, 3rd set of glaives and only this character can actually use them without having to respec. Screw Blizzard to be honest, I'm off to play War Z till Starbound comes out. Thought I'd bump this thread and have a little rant one last time to shine a spotlight on how little Blizzard gives a crap about you or anything you want unless there's money in it for them. I understand this now, it would cost them money to pay someone to make the change to let warriors dual wield again (or to pay someone to type a reply to this thread) so they won't do it, the only way we'll be able to dual wield again is if they start selling the ability to idiots from the Blizzard store.

as an old friend of spyderman and a long time player of wow, i feel the need to come here not just for those reasons but now i have just got off hand glaives on my warrior.
Before i wasn't really on board, never having played a warrior or had glaives or any desire for legendaries. Now things have changed and I AM REALLY PISSED, after spending 28 runs, yes thats 28 weeks of about 2 hours a week spent trying to get this legendary, finally today the off hand dropped, Then it all came flooding back, my good friend spyderman going on and on about warriors not being able to duel wield in protection...i have my 2 specs arms for my pvp and protection for my pve. so how do i even get to see what my shiney new legendary looks like? well i'm taking the torch spyder my good man, i'm not gonna rest until i AT LEAST get a response from blizzard, and at the most i want this changed. PROTECTION WARRIORS FOR DUEL WIELD, the fight continues. will be posting a small rant every day i'm online. |

Most useless and garbage thread I've ever seen in my entire life.
A hardcore-nerd with 400 day playtime whines about that he can't show his shiny weapons to brag and feel better because his spec doesn't lets him. Seriously I always see guyz like that sitting afk in front of bank ,I doubt if they are really afk at all...Oh Boy get a life... |

says the warrior who play fury. Look you can call nerd rage all you like it doesn't make the fact they blizzard removed duel wield for no good reason any better.
I guess calling for some empathy from players in wow is too much to ask for but at least try. Imagine you spent hours getting glaives, and now you can't even wear them. would suck no? I see you have 8500 achieve points, i bet you spent some time getting them, would suck if for some reason fury warriors couldn't show their achieve points for some reason? a weak comparrasion i know but still valid. again i assume you'll just return with nonsense like "nerds being vain blah blah", missing the point entirly, we are asking for an explanation that effercts the actual gameplay of warriors. So far no one has given any. |
Most useless and garbage thread I've ever seen in my entire life. I seriously dont know any more pathetic wow players, than those who call other wow players nerds, while playing probably the "nerdiest" game themselves. Get a grip son. Seriously Also, nice necro. |

says the warrior who play fury. Look you can call nerd rage all you like it doesn't make the fact they blizzard removed duel wield for no good reason any better. Blizzard did give an explanation which I'm confident has been quoted in this thread somewhere, you might not be happy with it. But that's how it is, they've read the thread and if they don't respond it's because they're happy with their answer to it. You "writing a rant about it everytime you're online" is nothing short of !@#$%ing about useless things Also, some people has said they like that fury is unique in that regard being able to dual wield weapons. Pretty solid reason if you ask me Edit: Don't get me wrong, dont mind people writing their side to it. But no point in spamming about things that have already been mentioned a thousand times |
