I think sporeggar is perhaps a little worse off than us, and it is alliance dominated, so merging us two would be COOL because not only would we have MORE PLAYERS we would also have a MORE BALANCED realm.

I think that people on sporeggar realm are sad because we can't merge with them, because Mr. Blizzard said so.

I think that people on this realm want to be merged with sporeggar.

How far do you agree with my above statements, if you don't, why not?

I would love a server merge, we really need more players on the horde side for our rated bg team ^^
And my guild oblivion is recruiting players for almost one month and we didnt manage to get 10 guys, and we are one of the best guild on the server :)

That's a fairly false argument if that is their last word on it as surely any free transfer is optional and it's not like they force people who join RP servers to RP anyway!
Merger would be good, but there are too many things they'd need to do (or at least claim they'd need to do) for it to happen. Also there would be the issue around which realm gets to keep their char names and how the RPers feel about losing their server back story.

Far more useful would be the option of a free transfer for those that wanted to move from Sporeggar to SSL (or vice versa, depending on which has the higher population) and see what the take up was like. If it's popular then announce that the lower pop. server is going to be closed down and give free transfers to all who are left to wherever they want to go.

But, as I said, that would be far more useful and therefore far from likely to happen!

I wouldn't imagine so, but the game hasn't seen as big a population drop as it is now :)

They announced a massive subscription drop recently, I haven't seen anyone RPing in ages and in fact all the RPers I know have either stopped playing or gone elsewhere.

It's ironic actually, because way back in TBC when Sporregar launched there was a mass exodus from SSL to there. Just saying. Alanis Morisette would have a view on that.

A merger with another realm won't work. Simple as that.

Not even a solution as the one Gurthang presented would work. Closing the realm after a rough majority seem to like the idea of transferring? No, just no.

Locking the realm, disabling the ability to create new characters, opening free transfers to any other realm and marking it as "dead"; eventually and finally closing it down completely only when every single character is out of there -- maybe. A lot of people are just too stubborn to allow even this to work though. At least prevent it to work smoothly enough to consider as a "solution".

This attitude times a lot will make any realm-migration attempt fail miserably.

But think how fun it would be! If they just ninjamerged Sporeggar and SSL and just gave it a new name. So when you logged in youre character was on a new server with a much bigger population.

I can already imagine the massive nerdrage haha! QQ because there were to many people instead of to few..:p I guess bottomline most people are more interested in finding flaws/things to be unhappy for than being happy for what they actually got.

Think of most of the people in the not so developed countries, they dont even have the possibility to play Wow!
