Favorite manga you've read
|
I've read a great deal of manga but these are some good exceptions which are in the shadow of the mainstream manga.
"Planetes": I've read the first book so far I'm totally hooked to it. It's so realistic the little details were drawn with NASA holding hand, awesome. I also like the art really much and the details they've put effort on every single panel of it. Gives a great dose of slice of life. "Yakitate! Japan!": A manga of... baking bread. How cool concept of story is that? I like the humor much and it's so original you couldn't hate it! "Death Note": Art is great, plot is great. If you like detective style stories you should check this out. I mean how much more convenient would a notebook which kills people be? Just see it yourself. "Rave": Aka "Groove Adventure Rave" or "Rave Master". It gives so many plot holes during the story it's so amazing how they get all tied together the further the end story goes. In the start the art is below average but gets really REALLY good towards the end. Definitely for those who like fantasy/shonen genres. |

*Takes on glasses* A weeaboo. Someone who think Japan is the highest culture anyone could achieve even tough they have no idea how Japan works and only knows about Japan trough what they have seen in animes. Talking japanese even tough they have no idea what they are saying. Believing that Japan pwns and everything else is a failure. Being a fan of manga has nothing to do with being a Weeaboo. Go away, Troll. I have glasses, I know stuff. |

Hmm well chobits has a soft spot in my heart as it was the first manga book I picked up. Was not long before I was buying the rest of the series.
xxxholic is also another favorite of mine. In fact one of my characters used this book as inspiration for it's name. |

Berserk. No words can describe how awesome it is. I rarely actually read manga, but Berserk was totally worth it.

im currently reading "Mahou Sensei Negima", realy enjoyable one.
|
Yeah, Mahou Sensei Negima was actually one of the first manga that I actually read a few years back and got me honestly into manga. 15 days from my last post and I'm gonna say that my favourites are Sekirei, Negima, Gamble Fish (Obscure manga that's been scanslated, look it up on Mangareader or something), and Naruto. Manga has that quality of being able to tell a story much more effectively than a book due to the visuals. Although some people will call that 'childish', it does tell a good story. Don't call something crap before you've actually tried it, or some such thing. P.S: Whoo! Unbanned from forums! Party! |

I second Berserk. Great characters and awesome artwork, I'd rate Kentaro Miura above most other Manga artists, the level of detail is absurd at times.
That said the most recent arc isn't up the standard of the Golden Age or Conviction arcs, the storytelling doesn't seem as focused to me (though I'll accept it's by necessity perhaps, in order to get the characters to where he wants them to be). |
